For me, it means being confident in yourself so much so that you know that there is someone out there willing to accept you as you are and if they do not then it is their loss. It is also knowing that you are deserving of someone who accepts and loves you as you so wholeheartedly that if they cannot see that you're it, then they are not right for you. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops and become person number jfghhsjajdf's type when person number fdjfauruehf is for you. Just because you a…

I was told I was too fat to be doggied, and that I should lose some weight in my rear end, while he continued to try and doggy me :/ (okay then my ass is quite regular tbh, in reality, he was a bit too short for it but anyway!

I have a feeling that nobody in a healthy relationship is actually in this subreddit LMFAO. you think? none of this is verifiable. we could literally all be BSing ;) let's just put this out there. everything on here whether its PP, BP, RP whatever tf. it's pandering. because if any of us were really happy or satisfied we'd be with our people instead of all this nonsense on the internet, i mean ffs. the only real advice is just go out there and experience life. and keep experiencing it until …

I'm seeing some of the comments here use your "strong and stoic" and "submissive and agreeable" as examples of roles. But when I think of roles, I'm thinking more along the lines of carer vs provider narrative. I think those other ones are more personality traits that ensue to agree with the roles. idk if that makes sense. could be wrong.

Let's not do this. There's really no points to this. All the expectations are shit, and it only becomes harder to fill the roles if you're poor.

I would take loving. There's no amount of money that could satisfy my need for attention, companionship, authentic love, and vulnerability. Been there. Done that. Never going back.

Experienced this. Still not over the guy. I must admit. I look at his pictures and sometimes I cringe, most times I silly smile and just really really miss him.

Nope. Not obvious ones like these ones at least. The content on dating targeted towards women (or me at least) isn't packaged in a way that blatantly tells you to level up for the other sex, at least not very publicly. Also, I'm in WhatsApp and Facebook groups titled "single ladies' conference etc". And now that I think about it, a lot of the dating content on what to repair comes at me through Christian media. So yes, rest assured the church aunties are most definitely on it.

I read the article, and initially, I agreed with it. But then I read a reaction that stated that the whole "level up your mental health game" is a very individualistic prescription. And the problem isn't necessarily at the individual level but at a community level. I think everyone needs to explore other forms of companionship in order to help them get comfortable with vulnerability and be confidently authentic, and that might help fill the skills gap.

I dislike the terminology being "stolen" by somebody, it completely removes the agency from the partner that left and creates spite for the new partner but the former partner. The leaving party was not stolen. They left, they made a choice, it was them.

Me! 23F, African intersectional feminist here... many reasons actually... but at the core of everything, I want to be able to make my own choices, live in the world freely, as well as feel and be safe.

Nope. Feel like I could cut myself on his face, the angles are just very sharp... aesthetically pleasing but just not what I'm into.

Whenever they want to. We can't have a one-size-fits-all, our trajectories and contexts are just so different.

The risk of encountering the 'bad few' outweighs the non-risks of 'many good', sometimes it's literally life or death. Unfortunately, we can't go out in the world pretending like this shit doesn't happen. And many of us have already been abused and are dealing with trauma FFS.

Just to understand, who is the "average" man and who is the "average" woman. I'm not trolling, I don't come from a western/american/euro context so my conceptions of what "average" are might be very different of yours and may be heavily influenced by media, which i know isn't a true reflection of reality or the "average"
