I'm not Mr. Rogers, this isn't Kindergarten, and I'm outraged. Conceded. What if I use the pejoratives that are more often associated with males? Asshole, douche bag, loser I won't support this. I hope everyone can work our their issues with words. I know it cannot be that way. Using pejoratives is unnecessary noise which distracts simple minds. This isn't a dissertation on equality. It's a post of outrage to outrageous behaviour. Conceded. Elevating style over substance is a cop out. I don't fo…

The wheels have been squeaking for decades. The usefulness of clean arguments is maintaining your credibility. The more uncredible people shouting at the wheels on the train the less credible the movement. The leaders voters can be swayed by truth. If not, expose them for what they are and watch them crash and burn. Call thr NSA for deets. Victims yelling at victims from the other side will not change laws. But it will cloud the issue. Some people are too hurt to consider the other side. These p…

No I'm not actually surprised. But it does help to support my argument when they start back pedaling, in realization that men aren't as stupid as once thought. And that their indirect attempts at securing better treatment for women at the expense of men are totally transparent at this point.

Not even close to stooping to their level, but I surely do appreciate your concern trolling. I concede this point. I overstated the effect of calling someone "a sexist fucking pig." whether they are or not, this language can alienate neutral parties. I speak from experience. I expect every concern to be 'regardless of the veracity of my argument'. That is a wise perspective, but it does not give carte blanche to spew obscenities at those you disagree with. I'm not running for office and I will n…

No, violence is violent. Yes. There is a growing consensus that verbal abuse (abuse = violence) is perceived by the brain in the same way as physical pain. http://healthland.time.com/2013/06/05/sexual-and-emotional-abuse-scar-the-brain-in-specific-ways/ based of a McGill study linked in article. Perhaps it's you who has a problem with raising tone above substance. Could you elaborate, or give an example? I don't know what you are trying to say here. If I were optimistic I would still believe tha…

If none of the things you suggested had ever happened I would have used different language. The fact is if you had used less derogatory language and clarified some of the trends you observed I would not have said what I said. Yes it was a rant. Does it have to be? Is it without any merit because it's a rant?

But their finding was that she didn't mean to do it. I didn't mean to grab my knife and kill you. I thought this was a dream. Is that you God? /s Seriously?

Your language is violent. Which makes me not want to consider that your arguments may be valid.

You presented a one sided argument; what else did you expect?

I cautiously agree with everything you said. However, you are hurting the cause (HUMANITY, amirite?) by name calling. Stooping to their level will ruin your credibility, regardless of the veracity of your argument.

If you treat women with deference over men for any reason you are creating a hierarchy that women are more deserving of comforts then men. I hope I misread your position..

The point here is the delusional self-entitled rationale that because of extenuating circumstances they are excused from culpability for their behavior. Didn't work for me. Shouldn't work for women. Women ARE just as capable as men. This includes serving an equivalent sentence for similar crimes. Any less is judicial sexism and the marginalization of men. The pendulum has swung from men abusing women predominantly (feel free to dispute anything I assert) to women abusing men. Obviously both have…

You're putting a lot of words in my mouth. I do apologize. I stated many of the assumptions I've made to demonstrate my effort to comprehend your position. I am happy to admit I've been wrong several times in this tangent. I do still respectfully disagree. Constant fear of incarceration I never suggested that. No. You did not. You suggested, by way of a bet, that women would be rehabilitated by the fear of prison violence and rape. Which I have now quoted you on for a third time. I juxtaposed th…

Is it weird I am completly repulsed by her "test?" That type of behavior tells me to find the doors and leave.

Prison doesn't suck enough for women. I bet the constant fear of rape or murder that male inmates face would do well to rehabilitate a good portion of those women. Constant fear of incarceration and fear of these humans was ineffective in SS. I haven't seen any studies showing that fearing for ones life and safety is beneficial to rehabilitation. In fact, constant stress is a health, and mental health, risk. Which prisons consistently overlook in rehabilitation efforts. I suspect criminals that …

Did you read the abstract at least? Because it said SS was not based on science. I have edited my comment.

No I'm saying scared straight, the program, was not founded on science and produced unexpected, sometimes negative outcomes. Sauce: http://iji.cgpublisher.com/product/pub.88/prod.1527 Edit: my comment was missing a "not." Now added. If you read the abstract and think you would've noticed this before I did.

Right, through a long cascade of bad decisions these mothers have forced their children into a life of addiction. I am not in any way saying these children will become addicts for being born into an addiction. Yet the neuro-physical effects will have an effect on them for their entire life. The statistics on these childrens' outcomes are seriously depressing.

Especially when I didn't mean them all! I don't think it would be fucked up if you had etc., etc. Spot on. Thanks for catching that. Cheers.

In a strictly literal approach the parent illegally exposed and knowingly provided a controlled substance to an unborn child. That child is then liable to be taken into protective custody.

This language would incite a media shitstorm from the bottom depths of hell if used to defend a man. Whether its veracity is warranted does not matter when men obviously commit 8x the crimes that women commit.

Prison doesn't suck enough for women. I bet the constant fear of rape or murder that male inmates face would do well to rehabilitate a good portion of those women. The scared straight idea was disproved awhile ago lol... is there a man on the planet who has arrived at adulthood without technically being abused? Let's not even mention the percentage of men that probably come out of prison as victims of sexual or physical abuse... Your concern is reasonable. Your approach is insensitive and liable…

On second take, addiction is a crime because one must commit the crime of possession.Even if someone breathes the smoke of a controlled substance they are still bodily possessing it. A crime.

Failing to have concern about people because they have penises is sexism. Excellent point. I never thought about it that way. I am a man, and obviously still have much to learn about the depth and intricacies of sexism. Thank you for your comment.

:: shrug :: I don't know, I don't think it wouldn't be fucked up if you had gender-specific statistics demonstrating that the tax system is unfair to men. Easy on the double negatives.

The majority of news consumers would rather see someone get thrown behind bars than be acquitted or found not guilty. Acquittals do not support the delusional idea that there are "safe communities." It's kind of messed up. It is a mental illness as (our more) severe as paranoid schizophrenia without much: acceptance, awareness, treatment, or any diagnosis to speak of. There is no need to minimize the severity of a false accusation. They destroy the accuseds' sense of reality and effectively ruin…

There was a media storm about it, but when it turned out to be false and he was completely innocent, there wasn't a camera or reporter to be seen. It's not "news" right

I had reread that. What prompted the author to use such hateful and derogatory language? It certainly negates at least some of their credibility.
