Chat GPT is telling you what it thinks you want to hear. It's not a serious information source. Maybe it will be in the future, but right now this is just meaningless generative slop

What excuses would've been given back then to excuse female-on-male rape? I seriously doubt female on male rape was even considered possible back then. It was likely just viewed as the guy "getting lucky" so to speak, as it still is quite often today

Having experienced it from both sexes during childhood, this ain't it. People see a grown man and can't imagine him being a boy at one time, vulnerable and taken advantage off. Men get less empathy. That's the issue. I do think the whole "women are wonderful" effect is a huge issue here. Women's agency is minimised and they're infantilised, which leads to lesser punishments or consequences for the same crime if done by a man. They're not seen as capable of doing bad or hurting people. Male victi…

100% mate. I've got first hand experience with this since I was a toddler unfortunately. Shit derails entire lives

Abhorrent. These people should never see the light of day. Permanent incarceration is the way imo. This should be regardless of gender. People have noooo idea how badly this fucks kids up. Tbh I wouldn't be mad at the death penalty coming back for irrefutably proven cases. A kid growing up and paying tax to cover the living costs of their abuser is unacceptable

I was raised in a very old school Muslim household. I, as a boy, was constantly taught about good and bad, right and wrong. My sisters weren't - them being good people didn't matter. All that did was that they'd be good cooks, cleaners, wives and mothers. The constant review under which my character developed was only present because I was male. Women are objectified and denied agency in many ways, a consequence of which is that they're not expected to be good people. I think most people who gre…

Yeah, absolutely. People are seen as more sexually attractive, socially desirable, intelligent, etc because of their skin all the time. I think the racist beliefs behind that, causes a lot of outright negative racism though. I'm not sure "positive discrimination" can exist in a vacuum

I guess my school was an anomaly, to be fair. I had more male teachers than female

Does anyone else feel this is a good argument for single-sex schools? I went to an all-boys school and had a great experience. There are downsides, sure, but if the parents are able to ensure their kid is properly socialised around the opposite sex I think single-sex schools make a lot of sense. If I ever have a son, I hope I'm able to put him in an environment where the teachers are more likely to get through to boys and less likely to discriminate against him because of what's between his legs

I've recently caught feelings for a close friend and am quite proud of myself for not melting down over it. Romantic feelings have usually come with heavy suicidal thoughts in the past for me (for various reasons, which if anyone's interested I can write out my current understanding of but won't bother detailing right now), but this time around I feel a lot more stable and healthy about it. Compared to where I was back in 2019-2020, it's night and day. The last 2 years have been pretty rough in …

Men don't really care about each other the way they care about women. So, left or right it does not matter. Men won't stand up for other men as a whole. Women as a whole don't care about us either. Left or right. We are cannon fodder. That's the crux of a lot of issues, tbh. Men have no in-group bias - hell, they actually have out-group bias in most cases

The more cynical cynic in me says that left and right are just placeholders for who gets to control men and profit off their labor, and the fight is generally over the old guard doing it versus women being in control. Not sure I agree with you, but this in an interesting take. Thanks for sharing

Yeah, or the shower, or into a tissue or something. I'm a bit surprised you don't already know lol, I thought most guys figured it out themselves. There's no shame in not knowing though. Word of advice, it's easier to wash semen away with cold water than hot, in case you do it in the shower

Nocturnal emissions (wet dreams) happen because your reproductive system needs to be exercised to maintain its health. You have to clear the pipes every now and then, so to speak. If you'd rather it didn't happen while you're asleep, the only way I know of to avoid that is to shoot your load while you're awake - have sex or masturbate

Yup. I hated how forgiving and kind he was to people who in my eyes didn't deserve it. I still can't see myself making the decisions he did in the show, but I know that's because I'm just not there yet. He's as zen as it gets. I hope I'm that mature at some point

Your friends sound like horrible people. A lot of the time, insecure folks will 'befriend' people they see as lower than them in some way, so that the can feel better about themselves. It sounds like that might be what's going on with the people you call your friends. Honestly, good on you for working towards better career prospects. That's commendable. In the future when you're making more money than them, they'll get a reality check. That doesn't matter much, though. What matters is you. You'r…

Not sure if there's been some recent drama with him that this post is about, but overall I both do and don't feel bad for him. After his drug addiction and trying out experimental cures, he's clearly not as mentally sound as he used to be. Considering that, I think he should take some responsibility and avoid posting too much. He knows how influential he is. In that sense, I think he's in the wrong. That being said, I do feel sorry for him over for how he's been demonised over the years. That so…

That's rape, man. She's a rapist. I'm really sorry that happened to you. You're not alone, though, and it's possible to work through the issues caused by that experience. Are you able to access therapy? It could really help - I started a few months ago after somewhat similar experiences and it's going quite well for me so far.

That poem is heavy, mate. I'm sorry you went through all of that. And I get what you mean about those subreddits. The r/PTSD one the other day ticked me off in particular. That space is almost a write off because of it, tbh. Hating men as a whole is far too common, and I would've hoped for more empathy from a group of people who've been through trauma of some kind. If you want to talk about anything, my PMs are open. Feel free to shoot a message over.

I think various fields default to particular demographics. Medicine, for example, is overwhelmingly defaults to men. Older medicines were only tested on males, leading to unexpected side effects when women used them. Hell, women used to be seen as overly emotional to the point that it was medically diagnosed as an illness (read up on Hysteria in the 19th century). Now we know that biological differences exist which cause higher neuroticism in women, but for years they were seen as crazy because …

Context: The Indian Government were toying with the notion of making Rape Laws gender neutral, only to kowtow to outraged feminists groups advocating that Rape remains a gendered issue specific to women only. Leaving male victims out of avenues for support. That sounds unfortunately similar to how things are in the UK - men legally cannot be raped here

You make a good point. There's some horrendous stuff happening to men worldwide that's ignored because they're male :(

Problem is, men are treated just as bad in those countries and feminists won't acknowledge that ever. Men are treated like shit in a lot of countries, but I wouldn't say just as badly as women for all of them. The ones I have experience with - Muslim ones like Pakistan - treat men terribly, but women even worse. In Muslim countries, a hetero couple caught fornicating will often result in the woman being killed by her family (often in the street, with neighbours pitching in) and the man will be m…

Not feminism, but women's rights activism. That's a lot better phrased than what I wrote. I agree with you

I believe it had its place, but has overstayed its welcome. Egalitarianism is what we should be striving for now, while feminism should be employed in countries where women truly are seen as second class citizens

Fair point - it could well evolve given enough time. I still don't think it should, though. I'd rather leave ideologies that are incompatible with the world as it is today in the past, than water them down over time just to follow their namesakes.

Considering the focus on being unchanging and not creating 'innovations' in the religion, I don't think Islam is capable of evolving like Christianity has. I'd honestly rather people accept that these belief systems are archaic and often immoral, then live their lives on their own terms, than try to interface millennia-old doctrines with modern life.
