It's either not happened, or it is a long drawn out main event. I have communicated what I want.

Thanks for confirming. Part of it is the excitement of my options if she did pull the trigger.

OYS 20 Mid-30s, 6'1", 91kg, married 8, daughter 2. Sidebar x2 Newly tested 1RMs kg(lb): Bench 120 (265) | Squat 152.5 (335) | DL 190 (418) Work Had a trip to the office for a few days, first time since January last year. Fuck me I needed this. Good to collaborate in person and get some of the more boring, important but not-urgent tasks done, seems easier in that environment. Added bonus of social activity and not being stuck in the house. Physical During the work trip and out of my lab-like envi…

I won’t be posting on OYS unless I hit the 1% body fat a week. If I can’t lose that little every week, I have no business mentally masturbating about it on here. Interesting, I've done this without thinking about it. Wrote out a post and then thought fuck it, I've let my diet/training slip and deleted it all. If I can't take care of basic stuff like what I shovel into my face, why should I make people read my pointless dopamine seeking keyboard presses?

Not sure why I didn't hit the criteria on this report as I hit at least 8 OYS covering DOD and still enjoyed a rule 9 time-out. Either way, I enjoyed the fuck out of this DOD: Lost 5kg and gained ~15% on lifts. Fixed my root psychology on training habits and mild eating disorders - no more 'rewards' or emotion based binging. I take much more regular care of my appearance and hygiene. Threw out 60% of my wardrobe and have a few good outfits that are "me" and fit well for most occasions. Completel…

Things were less hostile when I wrote that, it is still on my mind but I cannot negotiate with a terrorist. I definitely mask easier-for-me things as escapism for the hard stuff. I was going to the gym 6/7 days per week and avoiding family time to get away from the endless shit tests. Now that I have shed some layers of bullshit and have more of an overflowing cup than an empty cup looking to be filled, I will pause and consider this. Thank you sir.

Interesting. I'm not sure if I have the insight to answer but I'll give it a go: Why do u think your wife married you? When we met I was in the military. Dread, distance, fun and adventure were built into this career now that I look back with a red lens. Now I earn 3x the salary but work from home, have a mortgage and child. I would have to artificially force those elements to the same level, and it would not be congruent. I left to pursue a more balanced life. Throughout the whole relationshi…

OYS 19 Mid-30s, married 8y, 2 yo. Sidebar x2 6ft, 92.5kg. 2RMs (kg): Bench 112.5 | Squat 130 | Deadlift 165 | Press 67.5 DOD Made some amazing, sustainable progress in lifting and health/diet. Down 4.5kg, strength up. I am out of fat camp, and was hiding a decent amount of muscle. Weekend binges are gone, and I have allowed some flexibility with eating out, drinking etc. but still on a downwards trend until I am at 10-12%. Lagging areas were game and style. I will focus on improving these, but o…

DOD Lifting - I have internalised being a physical guy which was always buried inside of me, but goes through phases of being supressed based on my environment and people around me. Fair one, think I'll just take the hit on the shoes. Not keen on having wobbly little plates under my heels. Cheers.

I have some kind of impingement in my ankle joint that blocks my knees from tracking forward and torqueing up my hips. The slight angle assistance from the shoes might make the difference. It doesn't stop me squatting, I actually added 5kg for 6 today on top of what I posted. Out of interest, are you not better off barefoot for deadlifts? As the wedged shoes shift your weight towards your toes in DL.

Appreciate the insights. I was dancing around these 2 exact points after I posted my OYS. Do you own your own finances? Separate account? If you can't trust her to stick to a budget - take control. This is what I'm going to do now, moving all finances back to my account so I have full control. Fucked what up exactly? Your marriage? Who cares about that? You're separating away from your wife and developing your own frame. This is where you want to be. She MAY NEVER GET ON BOARD. And that's perfec…

DOD Lifting - making awesome progress. Deadlift jumped up, other lifts have stalled but I have not had sufficient rest between sessions. Got too excited when the gyms opened up. I value going to the gym more than not. If anything, I depend on it to keep my mind at ease and have to remind myself to take rest days. OYS 15 Mid-30s, 6ft, 95kg BW. 6RMs (kg) - Bench 92.5, Squat 107.5, Deadlift 125, Press 60. DOD1-4 Lift - Building resilience into my gym routine while the environment and habit is perfect. I have no injuries, fat is melting off, I am hitting weekly linear progression on lifts, the weather is perfect for getting to the gym by bike. Thank you sir. I am not OK with any of it, I am fucking livid. I just cannot make a rash decision when I am this pissed off, especially with my daughter in the middle of it. If it wasn't for her, I'd be gone without question. 100% I shouldn't be in her mind. But that's my only way to try and make sense of what the fuck has happened. Finished sidebar pre-requisites Marriage I thought I'd be able to have some quality time this weekend with the family, but was met with a huge shit test after spending the whole week killing myself with work/studying and not tidying the house. OYS 8 I am learning to be honest with myself. Actively stripping back the layers of bullshit covering who I am - not by dwelling on my past or seeking problems to fix, but with forward momentum and letting things sort themselves out. Posting last week about my lack of sex drive/initiations, immediately cast a spell on my dick and my ACTUAL sex drive has come to the forefront. I was seeking approval from mummy that I am attractive. I labelled my sex drive as high, but actually I just needed const…

OYS 7 6ft, 98kg BW. 6RMs (kg) - Bench 90, Squat 110, Deadlift 115, Press 57.5. Finished sidebar pre-requisites Physical Major breakthrough in my mindset here. I have finally internalised training as part of who I am rather than something I do: Before - Training out of necessity, focusing on the end goal and not the process, telling myself "can't wait for cheat day". The first 10kg was easy and did not require much thought. It’s more important than ever to start tracking my calories. Just get to work, feels fucking good to be lifting iron and making progress again. I've dropped being an absolute fat cunt at weekends. No fucking need for it, seeking feel good chemicals from food. OYS 4 Mid-30s, Married 7, 2 year old. 6ft, 99kg. Bench 80 x 8, Squat 100 x 8, Deadlift 127.5 x 6 Physical Gyms open again this week, thank fuck. Steady fat loss though. Marriage After weeks of having a low sex drive and low attraction from both sides, I unlocked what felt like genuine desire to use her body for my pleasure. I am trying to figure out, without a point of reference other than my own childhood, if 1. My expectations are too high, overcompensating for my childhood. Or 2. I just want the best for my daughter. ie. no TV/ipad, teaching her to be independent, deal with her emotions and not watching us argue. Her parenting is not abusive, but emotionally negligent and most importantly a deal breaker for me, so I give it more attention and energy to fix and it holds me back from moving the family in the right…

Thank you. You are bang on with every observation. Why do you feel the need for the "However" here? What are you trying to prove? I want the best for my daughter, to give them what I was lacking growing up and had to figure out in my 20s and now 30s. Thanks for your response. You're absolutely right it's miserable, which is why I'm here.
