Slow down, I never said I believed he was a rapist. My words were "I totally believe that Dr. Luke is a pretty terrible human being". And even that sentence could be improved to "I can totally believe that..." Based on his behavior, it would not surprise me. I agree for the most part, it's usually not too noticeable and it's just good strategy on his part. Tik Tok and California Gurls is a special case where he produced two songs that were popular at the same that are remarkably similar. Not a sin, really, just amuses me, but I can see how it looks bad. Nerd culture really does have to be the biggest one, though I can understand why it's not the most gripping/sympathetic to write about. I don't even understand the message this video's trying to communicate. "The quality of our antiperspirant is so great that you'll actually be less stressed"? The tone is very condescending. It's definitely condescending to men, but it gets bonus points for even reinforcing traditional female gender roles also. He's shown working himself to exhaustion; she's shown caring for the baby, bringing home groceries, and chatting on the phone. Nivea is clearly on the cutting edge of social progress.

It's borderline at best. The only relevance is the implication that a woman probably wouldn't have had such a hard time, but there's no concrete evidence for that anyway. If he had been found guilty, and a similar case had been found where a woman in a comparable situation had been exonerated due to lack of evidence, then maybe there would have been a more insightful discussion to be had.

Right. And I certainly don't hold that against them. They aren't mature enough to understand how grave an accusation like that can be. I wouldn't file this under the rest of the "false accusations" but it still is a harsh reminder of how dangerous this kind of accusation could be if he were a little less lucky.

I'm very glad that witness was around. A total lack of evidence would have been a huge risk to the innocent man. I can't really imagine the motivation of 11-year-old girls to be that deceitful. The optimist in me hopes it was just some misunderstanding taken very poorly.
