Please, use my soapbox. It’s a fucking racket. See Duluth model. Basically if a woman feels abused she is. It’s a sick thing. The courts are all rigged against men.

I’m sorry man. Divorce is an industry. Those who can pay, pay.

46 year old heavyweight purple belt sounding off. Balancing lifting and BJJ is tough. I started BJJ about 8 years ago (not a natural athlete). I lifted 4x per week and averaged 8-10 hours of BJJ. FF 5 years and the body started breaking down. Now I’m kind of burned out on BJJ, but still manage twice a week. Not improving, but keeping my same level. I rarely roll hard these days. You have to decide what you want to be. You can be big or great at BJJ. Being high level at both is something few can …

Start Jiu Jitsu, wrestling or Muay Thai. Knowing that you’re trained and can handle yourself physically is fundamental. It will also help your physique. Strength is awesome, but you gotta know how to use it. -just an old Jiu Jitsu purple belt

Lots of missing info here. What’s your age, etc.? Have your testosterone levels checked (total and Free). Erectile Dysfunction is not just the inability to get it up. Premature ejaculation also falls under this umbrella. TRT was a game changer for me (46 been on it for 8 years). It can fix all kinds of weird shit. Depression, anxiety, loss of libido. I went from 6 meds to a single injection of test cypionate. Best decision ever. Talk to your primary doc and get a referral to a urologist. It isn’…

Alumni has authority? Fucking lame. OP, sharpen your jiu jitsu and wrist lock him until he squeals like a bitch.

BJJ purple belt here (heavyweight). Sounds like you need to focus on technique. Size and athleticism absolutely matter. You can’t take the whole dude? Fine. Focus on back takes and chokes. If that doesn’t work, focus on wrist locks. These can be attacked from almost anywhere. Snap his wrist one good time and he’lll leave you alone. You can’t control the entire dude, but if you can immobilize his elbow, the wrist break is there most of the time. Tl;dr - Wrist locks all day, from everywhere. Make …

As a purple belt, can confirm. It’s very demanding, but I’ve strangled more powerlifters/bodybuilders than I can remember. That being said, I also lift and box. Strength matters, weight matters, it all matters. Jiu Jitsu doesn’t necessarily make you aggressive, but after a few years you know that you can survive against almost anyone (barring guns/knives/grenades/15 attackers and other nonsense).

Learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai or train MMA. Get your ass kicked. Rinse and Repeat. It’s humbling. The mat will always show you the truth. As a purple belt in BJJ, there are few things as rewarding as KNOWING what you’re physically capable of. Both of my sons (16 and 12) train and it’s a huge blessing to see how the arts have changed their attitudes. Be better today than you were yesterday. That guy staring at you in the mirror is your best opponent.

Yes, when both of my sons reached the age of 10 or so, we had a discussion about it. Hygiene discussions started earlier They both play sports and understand that locally (Southeast U.S.) they may “appear” to be in the minority, but globally they’re definitely not. When they turned 12 and had more questions, we talked about it again. I showed them a YouTube video of what happens during circumcision. They were terribly thankful I didn’t allow it. Neither could watch the entire video. Education av…

OP, Good for you and your son. When I went through pregnancy classes with my wife (18 years ago) we were the only couple choosing not to have our son mutilated. I said “No one is cutting my son.”. The nurses teaching the class applauded our choice. Anyone thinking of allowing this should watch a video of the procedure being done. It’s barbaric. The baby suffers terribly. Both of my sons have everything they were born with (13 and 16). They’ve never had UTIs or any other health issues. Why is thi…

6’0 225lb BJJ Purple Belt (who does train MMA with the Pro’s on occasion) here with “decent” striking/wrestling (depends on who you compare it to). I know of very few advanced BJJ players that do not have some level of striking and wrestling. That said, the differences between 1. An untrained “street fighter” 2. A “trained” hobbyist (I consider myself here) and 3. A well rounded professional fighter are huge. If anyone wants to see where their (grappling/striking/clinch) game is lacking, they sh…
