It takes time man, but stick with it, it sounds like it’s already getting better for you. Learn from the experience and focus on yourself. Best of luck on your interview. Onward and upward.

Jesus, what’s wrong with these people. The things you had to do just to have the basics. To follow suit, I hope you’re in a much better place now.

Thank you, I’m better off. “Happy wife, happy life” is a rotten mantra to live by when the sentiment isn’t reciprocal.

I’m sorry man. That’s horrible. I feel you with the “holes” part. The stick that broke the camel’s back was when I found myself super glueing my soles on again. It was then that I thought, “you don’t need permission anymore, you need shoes, go get some.”

Shoes. Kinda lame, but given how much I voluntarily put myself last in my family, I desperately needed new shoes. I bought two pairs.

Speaking for myself, dealing with divorce - and everything that comes along with it - creates a lot of baggage. Trusting a new partner with anything became a struggle, which isn’t productive for relationships. If you’re able to date while being cognizant of your needs/experiences/demons, and are able to put yourself first, then by all means have fun out there. Just be honest with yourself about your ability to be healthy enough for new relationships. If your goal is purely to be in a “hoe phase”…

The problem is when people are incapable of - or ignore - making the distinction. Let’s face it: some laws allow people to completely screw others over. It’s not right, but they’ll hide behind the law, claiming they’ve done nothing wrong.

As someone who’s in (and knows others in) a similar situation, I can’t stand that people can accept these kinds of payments. They just don’t get that legality isn’t morality. Divorce and support laws in California are awful and need amending.

CA really does have awful support laws. 50/50 split as well, yet 1/4 of my hard earned pay goes to her. The laws here put nearly zero accountability in her hands for seeking a living wage to take care of herself, or contribute to the lives of our children. Note: She has excellent work experience and is licensed in her field, yet now chooses to work in a new field that she has no experience in, with very low pay.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
