My ex blatantly lied in her financial affidavit by $2300 a month. My lawyer has subpoena’d her bank statements. Will anything actually happen due to her lies or will the judge just blow it off? Anyone with experience in this matter…It’s ludicrous. If I did 1/10 of the shit she tried to pull, I’d be in jail. But she didn’t even get scolded in court or even have to pay my attorney fees for a frivolous claim. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/03/23 04:21 PM

Anyone with experience in this matter…In my experience no. My ex filed a contempt charge and said I didn’t pay anything other than child support. Even though that’s perfectly legal, I pay for a ton of things. On the stand she lied under oath. I brought in the paperwork showing I bought my son a $25k car, I pay for the insurance, etc. clearly demonstrating she filed false paperwork, lied under oath, committed perjury, etc. The judge did nothing and didn’t even make her pay my attorney fees for the false contempt charge. | 5 | Is it better for a man to go back to his wife of 30 years…for familiarity and sentimental reasons….or move forward with new love and fulfilling sex life and risk not having full time companionship?Move on, you will never be happier in the long run | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/02/23 08:28 AM |
STBX not paying GALLost the appeal (it’s with the same judge) and the only next step is to the NH Supreme Court. That’s over $25k in legal fees and not worth the fight I’ll make more money, but I have to wait until the kids are a bit older (14) and then they can decide how much time they want to spend with me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/12/22 02:56 AM
STBX not paying GALIt all came down to money in my case; the judge repeatedly said I make 6x what my spouse makes. So she got 70% of the house (so the kids could stay in the same schools, etc.) 50% of my retirement (she kept hers) - it was nuts and nothing like the 50/50 split I was expecting. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/12/22 01:46 AM
STBX not paying GALMy GAL was $2k in NH. Try telling her you have no money left. Additionally, if my experience helps a GAL doesn’t matter. GAL came down heavily in my favor and it meant nothing to the judge. She still got full custody and I get Thursday nights for a few hours and every other weekend. We live less than 5 miles apart, so it comes down to money. Judge isn’t going to give 50/50 custody because it’s a reduction in money for the woman. That’s the only thing we could think of. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/12/22 01:41 AM
Why do Women give up on their marriage more than men do?Because women benefit more than men the vast majority of the time. I’m surprised more women don’t file. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/22 12:33 AM
How do I afford to live?Everything is negotiable and they can’t put you in a solution where you will go bankrupt. Even my horrible judge couldn’t do that. Get an attorney | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/10/22 12:31 AM
Stop working before Divorce. You would need a good story to support the change. Anxiety, desire to spend time with the kids now that you are getting divorced, etc. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/07/22 05:57 PM
Alimony in South CarolinaI make about double that and my alimony is $991 per month. NH has a formula where it’s the difference between salary multiplied by 23% (I think). I’m not 100% sure if the ratio because my judge implemented the “unless justice requires a higher ratio” so I pay more than the law states. Unless your wife doesn’t work, I think that’s really high. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/22 01:32 AM
