I meant "you" as a metonym for the side you represent, not as a personal reference. I've already seen the link you suggested. I have no doubt that TRP has its share of toxicity and idiocy. That said, by design, Redpill implicitly and explicitly encourages its members to vent their anger. And for better or worse, RedPill draws a lot of people who have a fight to pick with other mainstream narratives than that of sexual strategy (this is where the racists, homophobes, conspiratards, etc come in). …

You make it sound like TheRedPill is a monolith. I don't think any group in human history has been a monolith. Even the Nazi Party had members with substantial ideological differences (compare, for example, Goebbels and Himmler). I know Bluepill is a snark sub, and it demonstrates why I disdain snark subs, even those on "my side" like TiA and SRSSucks: invariably, snark subs make strawmans of what they seek to attack. Still, it does you no credit to characterize TheRedPill's membership as a unif…

The difference is that with those guys, what you hear is what you get. However, you guys make it sound like TRP is full of insane misogynistic homophobic racist conspiratards. I heard about Redpill from comments like the above, and I thought it would be something like BeatingWomen or GreatApes. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a rather banal and reasonable discussion of sexual realpolitik in today's world.

I think it's kinda stupid to say that college campuses have more per capita rape going on than in the Congo, where rival factions are using mass rape as a tool of war.

My regret is learning about the Red Pill. Before, I was a kind, happy boy who used to work out regularly, go out regularly, talk to women regularly...ofc I had no social or romantic success, but I had some success in the gym, and I was happy in the blissful ignorance of not knowing why women didn't (don't, I guess) like me. After I learned about TRP, I had to confront the reality that I was a low status beta male from a race that was low on the dating totem pole. When I learned about that, I jus…

You don't have to. However, the rules specifically say: "Purple Pill Debate is a neutral community to discuss sex and gender issues, specifically those pertaining to /r/TheBluePill and /r/TheRedPill." If you don't like it, why post in a sub about it?

Like I said, I personally valued and defined myself by intelligence (and eloquence, kindness, etc). It didn't matter. People still made fun of me based on race, culture, partner count, social skill, etc. What does it matter what we personally value when the rest of the world plays by a different set of rules?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/15 05:55 PM

Right, it's based on a personal assumption. It's just us that assume that society values men based on sexual prowess. Never mind that we lionize Hugh Hefner primarily for his ability to score with nubile women, or we sell everything from cars to alcohol with the enthymeme of "this will get you laid," it's just Redpillers measuring ourselves with it. You can keep hamstering about how you just want to "attack what a specific person values, while ignoring that your attacks line up perfectly with wh…

I don't think it's anti-RP if we accept that intelligence is orthogonal to attractiveness (or anticorrelated).

I would prefer a son mostly because I know what it's like to be a boy, so I could probably raise him better. I won't do anything like PGD to ensure a son though. I would prefer to have 2 kids. If none of them are sons, I will produce another child and use PGD to ensure he is male. One of my good family friends did this as well, except she was frustrated at only having boys, so she used the technology to ensure she had a girl.

I think it's fine. It's like saying "I want my kid to have a high GPA and SAT and play sports so he can get into a good college and score nice scholarships, but I won't force him to go into any particular school."

My Indian mother was actually spitting some Redpill truths the other day. We were talking about one of my horribly incel friends, we'll call him X. She said "Introverted, intelligent men aren't the kind of men who get girlfriends. X should get an arranged marriage, I think."

I hope I won't have daughters. If I do, I will raise her to value her looks and femininity. I will help watch her diet and go to the gym with her regularly. She can have whatever career she wants, she can date whomever she wants, I don't really care about that, I will support her in whatever choice she makes. However, all I want is for her to be a successful woman. Being able to attract (and keep) the highest quality mate possible is a major part of that.

Right, your insults are situational and tailored to the individual. That's why you never feel the need to qualify that, and you can get away with making quick jabs about a Redpiller's sexual prowess, jabs built on the societal assumptions that said sexual prowess defines a man. But no, you don't believe that, you're just trying to insult the Redpiller based on something he specifically values. Don't you realize how ridiculous you sound? And even if you were right, so what? That's why I put it in quotes, I get annoyed at TRPers for throwing around "alpha" and "beta" all the time. In the end, though, if I had a choice between being kind and being muscular, I would pick the latter without hesitation.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/15 02:55 PM

The burden of proof is on you to provide evidence for your position. Our position (there is no correlation between kindness and romantic success) is, by definition, the null hypothesis. If you use "butthurt" as an insult, that means you see it, and what it implies (sensitivity), as a negative trait in men, no?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/15 02:12 AM

This is PPD, not TBP. You may enjoy insulting Redpillers, and more power to you, but you already have a space for that, and this is not it. By criticizing me as "butthurt," you concede yet another point to TRP: women, including you apparently, want a tough, stoic, masculine man, and see sensitivity as a malus. Being a dick/being genuinely nice are both orthogonal to attracting women. Kind men get laid. Domestic abusers get laid. Neither will help you.

"Repulsive seeping asshole." "From that sentence, I'd say you're there already. Don't worry, babe, I'm sure the pussy wave will come to drown you soon enough." Your second statement clearly implies that there is no "pussy wave."
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/15 02:02 AM

Well, you have resorted to name calling and insulting me based on partner count. And by doing so, you have admitted that TRP is right: women, including you apparently, want a masculine man, and part of that is being a "stud" with a high partner count.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/15 01:58 AM
1

Woah, seems like I touched a nerve lol. In any case, TRP dudes just want to get laid. If girls liked intelligent, soft spoken men, TRP's front page would be covered with discussions of everything from Heidegger to Linear Algebra. As it stands, women like strong, masculine, aggressive "alpha" types. So that is what we seek to become.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/15 01:53 AM

Uh, you do realize that "you" was a metonym for the group you represent (progressive feminists), right? I am not a "repulsive seeping asshole" yet, but I hope to become one if it will help me romantically.

Agreed. TRP has literal Stormfronters, neo-Nazis, and white nationalists on it. But at the same time, I never feel like those guys are the dominant voice, and I can ignore them. On TBP, you guys write long screeds mocking Indian and Asian men and denying their issues, and they are the dominant, highly upvoted voices. So that's why I, despite having reservations about TRP initially, went Red.

Women are bothered by TRP because the models it posits are too close to the truth for their comfort. They'll deny it, but you can tell that TRP is more correct than its alternatives by looking at the difference between how women respond to these two statements. "Women like a man who is Diamond in LoL and subsists off Hot Pockets in his parent's basement." "Lol nah, eeeww gross." "Women like a dominant, masculine, high status 'alpha' male." "Nuh uh! Racist? That's semantics. Technically, discriminating based on race is literally racist, but Americans use "racist" as a code word for "morally reprehensible human," so good luck getting any of them to admit it. Wrong? No. We're all influenced by many things in our life, and they drive us to make the romantic decisions we make. Dont hate the player, hate the game. Speaking as one of those "highly motivated, academically focused immigrants," things aren't as good as you say they are. You can work your ass off, but you won't ever rise up beyond the middle class/upper middle class level. I threw away my college years to get into a career in medicine. While the fratboys and sorostitutes shouted "yolo" over shots and engaged in sexual debauchery on an industrial scale, I sat in my room with Berg's Biochemistry and my MCAT prep books. I gave everything I had, a…

Inherently? No. What makes it wrong is possibly the execution (such as: catcalling, jeering, physical harassment, etc). Granted, I think some Tumblrinas DO think it's inherently wrong. And even people who should know better. A child could see that this kind of law would be disproportionately enforced against PoC (the only people featured in that viral video, incidentally). I wouldn't say it's "sexist" as a categorical term. Do men have some advantages and privileges in society? No shit they do. Do women have some advantages and privileges in society? Look at a college graduation, a nightclub line, or a prison, and then tell me that they don't. In any case, I see a truly feminist, egalitarian society as a pointless pipe dream, much as I see Marxism.

The context: she was talking about her old boyfriend. She mentioned that he was the "emotional type," which apparently annoyed her. Then she dropped the aforementioned statement. That floored me. I mean, before I had drank the koolaid that people like Emma Watson push, that men need to be liberated from "toxic masculinity" and "express their feelings." It won't change. Nothing ever will. Women want masculine men, and efforts to make men more stereotypically womanish (openly emotional, staying at home, doing housework, etc) won't work, because women don't respond to that. Being stoic and dominant casts the widest net, and that's never going to change. My parents understood this. They never laid a hand on me except when I cried, then they would hit me for it. I watched it, it was hilarious. Of course, it had multiple glaring inaccuracies, but it was good for a laugh. The funny thing is: the writers of the video were leftist ideologues. These ideologues are the people trying to make gaming into a "respected art form," so they can apply their feminist critiques to it. And that's great. There are Jesus freaks critiquing gaming, so why not feminists? Let them have their fun shoving their ideology into gaming. But we don't have to listen to them push thei…

I play the game as it is given to me, I don't make the rules. Sexual success is a part of masculinity and being a man. I wish it were otherwise, but life doesn't care for what we wish. Despite what you feminists say about "toxic masculinity," I think you implicitly agree with this. You want a man's man, and part of that is a man who gets laid. How else to explain feminism's and social justice's sheer hatred for romanceless men?

Well, I always used to lean heavily towards leftist, feminist positions. I had drank the koolaid of "feminism is the radical notion..." and "reality has a liberal bias." I think I started becoming disaffected with the whole thing when #GamerGate began. A giant underground conspiracy built for the sole purpose of harassing women in gaming? Personally knowing several of those fully westernized liberal Indian men, I disagree. I'm not really interested in debating just world fallacies. I'll only point out that I am indeed attracting a woman through the arranged marriage game. My selling points are my money, family, status, height, and dashing good looks. The reason I'm playing it is because I get to play on an even playing field rather than having to convince American women I'm not Raj from BBT just for them to give me a chance.

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheBluePill/comments/29wjgz/why_are_they_so_obsessed_with_sex/cip6uil Bluepiller complains about "autistic" Redpillers being "sex-obsessed." The deal is that Redpill talks a lot about obtaining sex, which necessitates a frank, pragmatic discussion of the realities of the SMP. Bluepillers apparently object to that as "sex-obsessed" and "autistic."

Oh. Tbh, I'm not so sure these guys are trolling. I mean, Indian guys are pretty much at the bottom of the totem pole as far as the dating scene goes, and that can be a considerable source of angst for young Indian men. I don't think it's hopeless by any means. I've seen and known multiple Indian pimps. I just don't think it's worth the effort expended to become one when alternatives are available.

Well, the parents of both parties open negotiations and do the initial screening. Perhaps "dating" was a poor choice of words. The idea is not to build love and attraction, the idea is to make sure you guys can tolerate each other. As for suitors, my uncle went through about 70 candidates, IIRC. Some other men I know went through a few dozen.

Young Gen Y men are realizing that feminism will not help them. They want solutions, but they don't want to throw their lot in with the MRAs, I think most of whom are a predominately older crowd. The dramatic inequality of the modern youth SMP, the concomitant presence of a large sexual underclass and a much discussed "hookup culture" all laid the fuel for men to become disaffected with feminism. All it takes is one match, and the man will go to TRP. For a lot of people, apparently that match wa…

Eh, they seem to have no problem attacking some third world brown people. I think the issue is that the political Right is known for attacking Islam, and the Left desperately wants to do the same, but they can't. Because that would be a concession to the Right, an admission that the Right's grand narrative (which involves militant Islam as a threat to us) was correct. This sums up the Left's views on the matter, I think.

This is definitely something I have noticed. Progressives, Leftists, and Feminists definitely have a messianic bent to them, viewing everyone else as "unchurched," and seeing their own values as universals. Witness "No More Page 3," Shirtgate, the marked rise in disinvitations at colleges, the petitions against GTA V, and so on. I think what's funny is that these same people will defend Islam to the death, despite that Islamic theocracies embody the complete opposite of the values these progress…

I don't think this man was that concerned about a "hot piece of ass." I know that some guys indeed "don't want no mediocre," but this guy sounds like he would have been happy even for a plain woman to be interested in him.

White privilege exists. I'm a POC. I think men have some privileges in society, that much is obvious. I also think women have some privileges, though, and it's stupid to say that men are a categorically privileged class.

No, feminism has won completely. It is the mainstream. At this point, feminists are the cultural powerbrokers, and they hold all the cards. Voltaire said that you only need to look at who you can't criticize to see who is in power. And if you dare to criticize or question anything on the feminist agenda, they will get you fired and libel you as a "rape apologist."

Social constructivism and male privilege. I used to believe in them. Now I think they're both a pile of shit.

Arranged marriage is a realpolitik solution to the problem that as an Indian man, I am at the bottom of the totem pole in terms of attractiveness in America.

FWIW, bodybuilding forums (the Misc chief among them) are basically TRP.

I actually agree with this (never thought I would agree with a Bluepiller lol). In any case, why do you think my colleague had such a different and strong opinion on this matter? He has never heard of TRP or PUA or whatever.

This is the way the internet works. Places that discuss ideas against the current sociopolitical orthodoxy need to maintain a constant level of outrage, douchebaggery, and unacceptability. They do this to drive out concern trolls, people who would dilute discussions, marketers, doxxers, concerned schoolmarms, etc. You see this on 4Chan with the constant barrage of porn and reactionary political viewpoints that the users themselves likely don't believe. The idea is that any sane outsider would le…

Well, you Bluepillers talk a lot about how you hope that lower status men won't reproduce and pass on their genes. Speaking as one of these low status men by virtue of my race, I suppose I am an object of your disdain. I don't think you realize it, but at the Bluepill, you guys end up "punching down" a whole lot.

Hey, sorry to disappoint you, m'lady (tips fedora), but no monk mode for me. I know that you Western women would like to see me consigned to the evolutionary dustbin, but I have other plans: arranged marriage. This wonderful institution ensures that no matter how much your society seeks to beat down Asian/Indian men, we shall endure and pass on our genetic lineage. You mad?

False equivalence. In your case, it's one side brutalizing the other side. In this case, it's a two-way fight.

Well it's true, that has been the stated aim of FGM in many cases. We're not Bluepillers, we don't hide from the truth. Granted, I don't think it's justified by any means. I don't care too much about slut-shaming though.

Of course not. I think the phenomenon of (largely female) prostitution across cultures and millennia proof enough of that. The only people agreeing with your statement are doctrinaire social constructionists and feminists, and those people are basically on the level of Creationists as far as I'm concerned.

I am a shy, slightly chubby Indian dude. In the American SMP, I don't really have anything going for me (except that I come from a UMC family and have a good career, I guess). Throughout life, the "bluepill" advice I got from women was abysmal. I heard it all, from "women like nice men" to "just be yourself" to "God finds partners for all of us" (I'm not kidding on that last one). But that didn't add up: I started wondering: why wasn't God finding anyone for me? Are men of color not as "nice," "…

1) I don't buy the 80/20 nonsense. At least not in the form that some Redpillers claim. 2) Women's rights triumph in your moral value system. To play contrarian, let's suppose that mine values stability and order in society, and sees the free choice of women as deleterious to that point. Morality is a variable thing. That's why I said I don't want to have a moral conversation, and I don't really care what ONE moral system says is right. I just care about my own interests, as do we all. 3) I wish…

We can debate consequentialist and deontological morality for days and not agree on it, so I don't really care about morals in terms of this. It's more about "what's in my best interest"?

In any case, it doesn't matter how rare or not rare it is. The issue is: "what makes them a virgin"? For women, it's generally religion. For men, it's generally because they are low SMV men for whatever reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/15 05:30 PM

Actually, these are people I know IRL, many of them have never heard of TRP. In the group of virgins, the guy I know who is into TRP is actually the virgin by choice.

Mid 20s man here. I know a lot of male virgins. Pretty much all of them are involuntarily celibate. I know literally ONE man who is a virgin by choice. I think a lot of these men are invisible to women. When they think of an older virgin, they think of Steve Carell, and they can't think of any man like that. But the fact remains that there is a large "sexual underclass" of men. Overweight, autistic, socially awkward, Asian, Indian, etc men are disproportionately represented here. There was a stu…

Oh come on. Just because we think psychiatric treatment would lead to better outcomes than endocrine+surgical treatments for transgender people doesn't mean we're transphobes or whatever. It's a political statement to say "transgenderism is totally normal and should be accomodated instead of treated." And some people have different political views. That's what the infamous "I sexually identify as an attack helicopter" meme gets at: It's less about being transphobic and more about poking fun at d…

Sorry, typo: "economically/politically/sexually": Things are pretty good for those of us in the upper middle class/upper class, but for most men, real wages have been stagnant for decades and they're dealing with gargantuan wealth inequality and the worst economy since the 1930s. Things are not good. The horrific state of the SMP is just adding fuel to the fire. EDIT: This is mostly the issue in America atm.

According to the study, the correlation is with conservative/authoritarian societies, not just with sexuality. In any case, we can't underestimate the sheer number of economically/politically/sexually disenfranchised men, or the fact that they will lean to the right. India is the canary in the coal mine on this front, with conservative figures exploiting the insecurities of foreveralone men to gain votes. I can see the American right doing the same in the years to come. The sexual underclass of …

I'm not so sure education will help much. Iran is one of the world's most educated countries, and yet liberal and progressive ideas have anemic followings there. As for superbugs, I know most people know about it, I just don't think any of them care, or have any idea of the magnitude of the issue. If they did, I think we would nationalize the pharmaceutical industries and redirect research overnight.

The issue is that humans have already snapped up a lot of the weaker, low-hanging fruit in terms of antibiotic development. It's harder to make new stuff. For example, we are seeing carbapenem-resistant strains of bacteria coming up and no replacements for carbapenems. I fully agree with you that if we solved the issue of obesity, the world would become a much healthier place. As I'm fond of telling people, doctors will not be replaced by computers, but we CAN be replaced by exercise and proper …

I dunno, I think he's right. For example, you look at the debate on "affirmative consent," and everyone I've talked to who isn't on the feminist progressive left says that it's a nice idea, but it's also a pipe dream.

I've always opposed feminism and the progressive left, but I find myself baffled at why feminists are attacking nerds. I mean, these nerds are challenging traditional gender norms and orthodox masculinity...isn't that what you guys want? These men would gladly have been your allies and comrades in your fight, but instead, you have created a massive constituency of opposition by vilifying them. Ah well, never interrupt your enemy when she is making a mistake, I suppose.

Depending on who they were, they would be proud I think. I remember when we first heard of The Red Pill. A group of my Asian friends and myself, we were all wondering about things like female sexual plurality ("AFBB,") why girls kept telling us "I don't date Asian guys," why we were basically Foreveralone in college, when everyone else was partaking in "hookup culture," blah blah. Then, in one of our private message groups, someone started posting articles by Roissy. And as we read it, it made m…

I'll let everyone else deal with some of her mischaracterizations and strawmans about MRM. I'll address the point about male submissiveness directly. I've actually read writings and discussions by Redpillers interested in being male submissives. IIRC the consensus was that it was a fool's errand. Women by and large disdain male submissives, so the end result is that these guys either have to satisfy their fetish with low SMV women (who must be more sexually open to compensate for their low SMV) …

I agree, but the world doesn't care what you want to do or what your measure of success is. I mean, a kid can go to college and talk all he wants about how he has his own measures of success. Bully for him. The kid who pledged SAE and went to the gym 4x a week is going to be slaying pussy so hard they should lock him up for manslaughter. And he will be making the connections to ensure post-education success. We must take life as it is given to us, not as we would wish it to be.

Agreed, and I just want the best for my son. I will force him to lift weights, join a fraternity in college (from what I've observed, women become aroused upon learning a man is affiliated with a high status frat), study hard, be sociable, and be as alpha as possible. I will teach him about sexual dimorphism, AFBB, hypergamy, blah blah. I mean, I just want him to be successful, and I think The Red Pill is the way to success.
