They will also need to afford day care while they work which is very expensive. It doesn't matter if it's an outlier, it's a problem and needs discussion

Just dump the kids in a care home so the state can look after them instead of a parent who loves them but is unable to afford the costs of day care after being a stay at home parent?

You can't always prove abuse either way. It's difficult unless there are physical marks or written messages, but abuse can still happen without this. But what if there is no abuse and the wife just decided to walk out and leave the dad and 2 young kids. What would he do?
