I never said I was experiencing a dead bedroom. Less sex != no sex.

You said I “need” to threaten divorce over her fluctuations in interest in sex. Later you moved the goal post to “could”. I certainly can choose to threaten or pursue divorce for any reason I want. That doesn’t mean I need to. Hence our disagreement.

It is acceptable, but that does not make it necessary, or prudent. My wife is more than a place to get my dick wet. She’s a partner, friend, and parent to my children. Throwing all that away over sex being less frequent than I may prefer at times is awfully short-sighted and selfish. No idea what any of that has to do with virginity.

So you’ve asked every married couple who didn’t get divorced about their sex life? Newsflash! Relationships that are falling about make people not want to fuck their spouse. Also, people who are unhappy focus on the things that make them unhappy. While I wouldn’t be surprised if lack of sex is “a” reason for getting divorced, I’d be floored if it were the only or even the primary reason. You are in all likelihood reversing cause and effect. When I’m pissed at my wife, I don’t want to fuck her ei…

Yeah, I’m sure that was the ONLY problem in your relationship.

Yeah, not getting divorced because she doesn’t want to fuck me after we fight, or because she does when I’ve done nice things for her. Marriage is about more than sex. Not to say sex is nothing, but it’s not everything either.

Anyone who’s been married know this, even if they don’t want to admit it. Withholding sex to change behavior, offering sex to reward desired behavior. Sex as apology for her own poor behavior. Sure, not all sex is quite so transactional, but it frequently involves some amount of operant conditioning. I’m far more likely to get laid in the 2 days after we fight about her spending too much money, than the rest of the time. I’m far less likely to get laid when I choose to grow out my beard in the w…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
