Thank you so much! I completely agree with you. I think I also have to honestly consider if I’m feeling more rushed because we’ve been apart for so long and I feel anxious/insecure about his homecoming. 6+ months (we’re only at 5.5, but still) apart can definitely lead to worrying about what’s going to happen when we’re finally reunited. I strongly feel like this needs to be an in person conversation because anything else takes the human aspect our of it. He does care about me and love me, and I…

Yeah, you may be right. We’ve been living together essentially the entire time we’ve been together because the girl I was going to move in with backed out last minute. I just don’t know if it’s worth stressing him out while he’s still deployed. I think I’ll give him a little longer to come around and will wait until after the dust has settled from his homecoming. 5-7 years is definitely no longer an option for where I stand now, however. We’ll see how it goes haha.

I appreciate that perspective for sure. I have no doubt that he loves and cares for me. We have been living together since around the 3 month mark because we both needed a place, so we already know how we cohabit and have worked pretty hard on coming to a mutually respected living style with our apartment before he left for deployment. I shouldn’t push it, but it is definitely frustrating waiting around for a maybe haha.
