Sure, you may not be where you want to be in the long term but saying you're the same bitch as when you started is wrong. You're getting IOIs and you ACTUALLY went up to talk to a girl you like. That's progress. It may not look like progress because not much has happened but there's a huge difference from talking to no girls to talking to one girl.

well hey you could make fun of that situation. Maybe even joke that you'll be her PT today. But to be frank in case you're serious, no, that wouldn't be a PT session.

ask her if she wants to come workout with you. Then if it goes well ask her to go get something to eat after the gym. Bam, instant date.

In the same boat as you, but probably less attractive :). it's normal to be conflicted about this situation since both options seem to have their ups and down. However, I would encourage you to keep your current values since I believe a relationship is far more fulfilling than a casual sex lifestyle. Find yourself a nice girl that you really care about and you'll be having all the sex you want.

Direct: being direct about your intentions. "Hey, I thought you looked cute and I had to come say hello" Indirect: being indirect about your intentions. "Hey, cute dog. do you mind if I pet him?" Direct gives away the mystery of "does he like me or not" and maybe makes you look like you put her on a pedestal. However, this approach does get the point across that you like her which you will have to do eventually with Indirect.

Stop being logical about the topic. Play with it. "I bet you turn into a grumpy goblin when you haven't had your coffee?" "Be honest, do you like coffee because it helps you take a shit in the morning?"

In the same boat as you. Ended up trying the casual sex thing once and it confirmed that it was not my thing. Keep doing you and don't buy into the casual sex hype. There's just no goal to it, no long term benefit.

Sounds like you're in a tough spot. I also sounds like you have no vision for the kind of relationship you want so you get torn between opening up/pulling away. My opinion of dating people similar to you is that it's very annoying and walking on eggshells. See if you can figure out what it is you truly want out of a romantic partner and maybe then you can stop hurting yourself and others. This sort of thing is best done by talking with someone you trust, I find.

good question. From a pickup perspective, you could say first to look away loses the frame or the dominant position in the conversation. Often times looking away and especially looking down in a conversation communicates "I feel dominated by you" which is good or bad depending on context. In a pickup context it's a good thing to have the dominant position. Or you do it as a game to make yourself laugh. lol

Of course it's a place to get fit. The "my exercises are more important" bit is bullshit. It takes literally 2 minutes of your time to approach a stranger, say hello and introduce yourself. If it goes well just ask If you can workout next to her.

I've dated two or three girls I have approached at the gym. The gym is a perfectly appropriate place to approach someone you fancy. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

there's an old rule of pickup. "first to break eye contact loses"

Haha I appreciate the older guy line "Ya know if you keep looking at me like that you’re gonna be in trouble." very old school flirty kind of thing.

yikes dude, that's suuuper beta on so many levels. Hope you get comfortable enough in yourself to one day compliment a woman's looks to understand it's not a big deal.

As a person with high self-esteem, I would tell you that a lack of self-esteem is indeed a huge turnoff when I meet a girl. The best way to overcome this challenge is for you to be upfront about the insecurity you have in that moment, maybe even in your opener. That displays humility and courage which is attractive.

Dated three girls I met at the gym. It all started with asking them about their workouts and giving a compliment about how well they execute their movements. Later ask them to workout together again. Even later ask them to do something outside the gym.
