I will check it out. I’m not so sure how I feel about Laura Doyle. I tried following her method years ago but things didn’t seem to change much and I felt drained. It was like I was the one solely responsible for putting in the work. I felt very invalidated in the things he was doing to contribute to the failure of the relationship. My husband also gets frustrated when I try to treat him as the captain. He wants to be more equal. Idk I’ll check the podcast out. Thanks!

In the words of Jordan Peterson, don’t compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to the person you were yesterday. Edit spelling

Thanks! I’ve never criticized him though. The only time I’ve said anything was when he voiced that he was frustrated because he was trying to help me solve my problems. I explained that sometimes I’m just going to feel like shit, and that’s ok, I just need him to be there to listen.

Yea, he usually tries to offer solutions to help “fix” the problem. I’ve told him that I just need him to be there with me rather than offer advice.

My now husband said something similar to me at the beginning of our relationship, along the lines of how I made him feel loved like no one else. RPW theory works! So happy for you ❤️

You don’t always need to be nice. Nice does not equal good. It is SO important to be assertive and stern. Don’t let anyone walk all over you. A lot of the time, men who won’t take no for an answer and keep pressing end up being abusive/controlling. Run and don’t look back.
/r/RedPillWomen18/10/21 07:55 PM

Oh man I wish I had advice for you lol. I once saw a therapist who, whenever I tried talking about relationship set backs my now husband (then LTR), would go on and on and on about how men are nothing without women, women run the world, blah blah blah. It was so cringey.

This. The ways and amount that I have changed since 15 is unmeasurable. I didn’t really level out and fall into my “true form” for lack of better word, until around age 24. It’s awesome, encouraged, and totally healthy to have goals, but you have no idea where you’ll end up down the road.

I don’t care about sexual appeal. In my experience/observations, a man who goes after a much younger woman is not HV.

I’m against big age gaps 99% of the time. Gotta consider his maturity level. A lot of the time, older men go after younger women because they are more willing to put up with his shit and are easier to manipulate due to less life experience. Why did his previous marriage end? Has he dated women his own age? Why can’t he find someone his own age?

I would bet my life savings that if you go back the abuse will get worse. You would be showing him that he can get away with how he has treated you in the past, thus will push even further. This is not going to go well. Things will not improve. You are setting yourself up for a world of hurt.

I think it’s also about how you carry yourself. In my experience/based on my observations, people are usually more confident when more in shape. Thus they walk with shoulders up and smiling, are more friendly and non-judgmental, and overall have a better vibe. A healthy body begets a healthy happier mind. Edited grammar

Considering your posts on other subreddits, I have a hard time believing that this isn’t a problem. Trying to suggest to someone else to jump on that train with you shows your insecurities. I’ve been in your shoes before. You need to accept him for him or you guys will crash and burn. Not trying to sound mean, it’s just an observation based on your profile, my personal experiences, and watching my brother who is stuck in a similar mindset. Wtf absolutely not. I’m sorry but this is awful advice. My husband (boyfriend at the time) was just lazy as fuck with a low libido. If he was like that, I’m sure other men are too. It could also be a health issue. Edit: just saw you said he has a porn problem. That’s probably your problem lol.

I had a very similar issue and felt very similar to what you are describing. I also did just what you did, I kept my mouth shut and repressed my feelings. From what I’ve read and your comments on this post, it kind of seems like you are making excuses/trying to justify what he’s been saying and doing. As someone who was once a chronic “situationship” victim, it really seems like this is the direction you’re heading in. If he was truly interested in a relationship, it wouldn’t be this unclear. I think you have every right to ask about his expectations for the two of you. His vague responses SCREAM situationship, like total textbook.

I don’t talk about it with my best friend, but if I did she would think I was crazy. It’s sad because I’m about to get engaged to an amazing HVM while she is an active plate. He is kind and patient. He actually made an effort to talk to me and never left me hanging/waiting and wondering during our early dating days. He is smart and self sufficient, always motivated to try and fix things himself before going off and hiring someone to do it. He has great parents and a fantastic relationship with his mom. He tells his family he loves them often. One of the biggest turn ons was how he loved and treated his dog. It was obvious that he will be a great father.

Lana Del Rey’s new album is pure gold. A lot of her music has “helpless fragile woman” like themes (which personally, I also love), but this one isn’t like that. It gives me some super nostalgic vibes. Fleet Foxes is also super pleasant to have on in the background while I’m doing things :)

Oh man... the struggle is so real, especially now that it is getting colder outside and I have my love cuddled next to me all nice and warm. My mom has a coffee maker that she has timed to start up at a certain time. I haven’t tried this yet (and I should), but I think the smell of fresh brewing coffee might help. Also, waking up early even on your days off helps your body fall into a routine. I should NOT be trying to give advice on this because I suuuuck at getting up early too haha

The energy that you put out into the world attracts a certain type of person. If you want to find a worthy partner, you should drop the “all men bad” mindset. My best friend is like this and I really wish I could make her realize that she is her own worst enemy here. I too was stuck in a negative pattern of only finding myself with bad guys. I only ever went after emotionally unavailable men, slept around a lot, let myself be a plate for attention, and was constantly heartbroken. When I really t…

I never got into wearing makeup. I went through a very brief phase in high school, but I really don’t like it. I make sure to take good care of my skin (but I’m also blessed with good skin genetics), always make sure my eyebrows are groomed and upper lip hair removed, and keep my hair looking nice. Doing all of the above, I’ve never had any issues looking unpresentable.

I would make an awful wife and mother if I don’t take my bipolar meds. In my opinion, you would be a failure if you neglected your mental health. Maintaining treatment and taking care of yourself is a very brave and strong thing to do. Is a diabetic a failure for taking insulin?

I think the first step to working on emotional dependence is dumping a guy whose flakiness will trigger you. In my experience, guys who say they “go with the flow” are screaming “I have commitment issues/I only want you around on my terms”. Edit to add: I get the pain and heartache with break ups, they suck...but it will hurt even more if you let this go on

All of my friends are liberal BP feminists. Some know my beliefs, some don’t. I just don’t talk about my beliefs ever and don’t engage conversations about theirs. I just stay completely neutral or subtly try and change the subject. I have one friend who I know won’t hate on me if I bring up an opposing view, but that takes a lot of trust. I learned to accept my friends regardless of opinions, and it has worked out well for me.

This is so beautiful and insightful. I was also a plate, but when I met my bf I knew he was the one. I don’t know what it was, I just KNEW. I see so much of myself in this post. My life and mental health improved 100% after taking the RP. I LITERALLY have never been happier/felt more complete. It makes me sad for some of my closest friends, who are so deep into the feminist rabbit hole and wonder why they can’t find healthy relationships.

We’re both students, so we’re still very busy. We have two other roommates, one of them is your stereotypical bad roommate, so tension has been high. We promised each other that we wouldn’t take our frustrations out on each other. That helped a lot. It was a good reminder for both of us that we’re on the same team. I’m so grateful I have him through this awful situation.

My best friend since high school is very much a feminist, we just have a mutual agreement not to talk about politics. Even when we slip up and a political topic comes up, we’re pretty good at staying civil for the sake of our relationship. I’m pretty lucky in that sense. I have had other friends totally turn on me. One girl verbally abused and bullied me on Twitter for a few days. It was pathetic.

We’ve been really into chicken thighs lately. They’re super easy and delicious. I put them in a ziplock with bbq sauce, teriyaki marinade, a little olive oil, salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of rosemary. Shake that around and lightly massage the chicken. You can let them sit in the bag for awhile or just bake them right away.
