I wonder if Intel would release that report to the general public. But usually, if the report finds the gender discrimination negligible (as it did and as it should), some people will call it an anomaly and if the report had somehow found the gender discrimination present, those same people will push it in everyone's faces.

Quoting /u/NorthernNights from another related thread: I share your rage, but this was actually a correct decision (Note: I am a lawyer. I am not your lawyer. This is just my present sense impression and cannot be construed to be legal advice of any kind. I am prepared to be downvoted for going against the grain with this analysis). The vehicle Nungesser chose was a constitutional violation vehicle, which is, at the outset, very hard to meet the burden of proof. Beyond that, what he's done is tr…

I agree. She lost the lawsuit and the court ordered her to pay only $276k out of the $1M that the VC firm spent. Then she dropped the appeal. The title makes it seem as if the lawsuit never went to trial, there was no judgement, and she just dropped it.

It's 35% by women, 15% by men, and we don't have breakup for the remaining 50% based on the data we have.
/r/MensRights04/09/15 07:15 PM

So if we assume both those statistics are true then 35% of total IPV is women abusing men That is misleading and can be inferred incorrectly. I think you should clarify that it doesn't mean that the remaining 65% is by men. It's 35% by women, 15% by men, and we don't have breakup for the remaining 50% based on the data we have.

To be fair, men women aren't pressured by society to do roids develop eating disorders, they choose to do it when they want more muscle less fat. And the majority of guys girls that use roids have disorders are already in very good shape, it's not like mainstream society is pressuring guys girls to look like the gross veiny bodybuilders anorexic models that use roids have eating disorders. I edited some comments above to explain the miscommunication. Now, your goal is equality as per the reply. What rights do women not have today that men have? What is needed to achieve equal rights? Can you enumerate them to help us understand what you want. Basically, what, if achieved, would cause you to say "we are done with feminism. We achieved everything we wanted. Time to go home." Also, equal rights go both ways. For example, equal qualification benchmark for admission into the army or fi…

Are you serious? You don't want equality and you just said that you want equality? As far as myself, what most would refer to as Contemporary Feminism or 'Third-Wave' Feminism is really no more than Egalitarianism, that is, equality for all. That's what I'm interested in. EDIT: miscommunication. You replied to a comment while I was editing it to include a reply you gave earlier that I didn't catch earlier. Sorry.

anything short of perfect is useless That's the part that I disagree with, but I would rather not go down the rabbit hole with you. As I said in other comments before, it is a useful tool, but not a completely conclusive device. People should use it as a tool and not as an end-all device.

https://www.ncjrs.gov/App/abstractdb/AbstractDBDetails.aspx?id=131528 This is one of the many articles on google scholar stating that reliability of polygraphs is more than 90% (vs your number of close to random). I studied polygraph machines for a semester presentation and your misconception is a very common one. So while you can't trust them 100%, they are almost always right. Feel free to call me a heathen and go about your day.

Heart rate + blood pressure, respiration rate, skin conductivity. They don't prove anything. They are just a tool to aid investigation. So stop assuming that they are supposed to prove anything. For example, Zack go to a doctor for an STD test and the doctor says that Zack has warts on his genitals which look like herpes. Still the doctor will do a herpes test, because the warts DON'T PROVE ANYTHING. They just indicate that there is a good possibility (better than a random coin toss) that there …

100 people - 90 innocent, 10 guilty 9 guilty marked as guilty, 1 guilty marked as innocent (90% accuracy) 90 innocent: 81 innocent marked as innocent (0.9 x 90), 9 innocent marked as guilty (90 x 0.1)

They're still no better than guessing. So you mean to say they are not better than a random coin toss. ie 50% Even with a 90% rate Ahha! So more than 50% they will falsely accuse 9 out of a hundred and let one guilty person through. Which is precisely why there are jury trials etc. and it's not a simple matter of just wiring up all suspects. The polygraph system can be beaten; some courts prohibit them and courts will allow polygraph results to be admissible only if both parties agree and even t…
/r/PussyPassDenied22/02/15 12:52 AM

Which is why the machines are calibrated in the beginning by asking you objective truths which you know are true to get a baseline. The only point of time this doesn't work is when the readings are way too high and the person is really jittery. In which case, the reading is called off for another day. That single mother part ruffles me the most in news stories. The fact that this organism chose to breed usually has no significance on the story being reported. They don't do that to men. I agree with you. That's precisely the point. It's a PP because the defense thinks this is a viable option and a plausible defense. If the genders were reversed, then no defense in their right minds would go for this defense without getting their car keyed. The outrage is that if genders were reversed, the defense lawyer could not take this track. They wouldn't even think of 'blaming the victim' for their rape. The issue here is the sexism that will come from the jury and the fact that the judge…
