Is this another echo chamber? The fact that your post hasn’t been removed is a pretty good indication that it’s not an echo chamber so much as the one place we have to safely discuss these issues. The fact that we’re marginalized by the overwhelmingly feminist mainstream intellectual infrastructure isn’t evidence that it’s an echo chamber, it’s evidence that we’re marginalized. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 05/08/26 03:31 PM
The Government of Canada cares more about Anti-Feminism then it does for Men's HealthGiven the fact that feminism is what built all the structural bigotry that undermines men’s basic rights in the first place, I think validating anti-feminism is not only a valid first step but also strictly necessary if we want any hope at making a single bit of progress. The feminist movement and its hold on the gender narrative is what enabled a lot of the issues that disproportionately face men to be designed in the first place so I think this is pretty clearly a necessary first step. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 10/06/26 09:34 PM
What's the difference between a left-wing male advocate (or simply male advocate) and an MRA?Really, a subreddit whose name literally says they’re against basic rights threw a half-assed pejorative at a sub that’s in favor of basic rights because they can’t come up with actual critique? We must really be in trouble… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 10/06/26 01:43 PM
Is it misandric or misandristic?Misandrist is a noun and an adjective dude, there’s plenty of words like that | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/04/26 12:34 PM
Is it misandric or misandristic? It’s the same thing. Not every word in the English language has different forms for every part of speech. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/04/26 12:26 PM
Is it misandric or misandristic? It’s misandrist. It’s already in the iPhone dictionary. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/04/26 11:51 AM
Is the Me Too movement overall good or bad?“Believe all women”, so when a man was violated by a woman and she realizes she has to cover her ass with a lie, we believe the woman. It was status quo. The only thing that changed is that more people felt comfortable saying the quiet part out loud. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/12/25 04:47 PM
The terms: "Internalized Misogyny" and "Toxic Masculinity"See, you're accusing me of cherry-picking while dismissing every concrete example of institutional policy I gave you without addressing a single one. I'm not cherry-picking, you're just refusing to engage with evidence that goes against your worldview. Let's talk about the "broader net" then. Boys are falling behind girls at every level of education: high school graduation rates, college enrollment, college completion. That's not cherry-picking, that's the entire educational system. Men receive … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/12/25 03:13 AM
The terms: "Internalized Misogyny" and "Toxic Masculinity"Also I think it’s worth mentioning that this whole premise of a society that forces boys as young as 12 to pay child support to their adult female rapists is actually a “patriarchy” where men are rewarded for conforming to it is so obviously brain dead, especially when the institutions pushing that narrative are the same ones that went out of their way to ensure that men would never have domestic violence shelters again by suing them out of existence, even though in three quarters of unreciproca… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/12/25 12:14 AM
The terms: "Internalized Misogyny" and "Toxic Masculinity"It’s been my experience that what’s meant by the prefix “internalized” is “I’m a woman so I don’t have to take accountability for my misogyny that I very much just got done externalizing.” The only friends for whom I’ve had to regularly call misogyny is my female feminist friends. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 21/12/25 11:29 PM
what do you guys think of this video made by leftist youtuber Adam Something? "The Left Created Andrew Tate (by Ignoring Young Men)"All he does in his videos is whine and ramble aimlessly so it’s not surprising, I don’t think his opinion on this kind of thing matters at all | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 21/12/25 06:08 AM
Patriarchy and men's liberation is a lie, and why you shouldn't be a feminist.Yeah I was sexually abused by my mom and anytime a feminist has ever caught wind of the fact that I was abused by women, I’ve been IMMEDIATELY told the reason behind my sexual abused at the hands of women, and women going out of their way to enforce a code of silence among each other, and women constantly minimizing what happened to me, was pAtRiArChY. It’s just a framework for legitimizing victim blaming. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 05/12/25 03:14 PM
Is femicide an unfair term?I think androcide is a quite different term as it refers to the systematic mass extermination of males based on gender. Femicide is usually just an individual homicide against a woman, with varying degrees of evidence of sex based intent, sometimes boiling down to “why else would a woman be killed”, occasionally aggregated into a category. Femicide refers to individual killings, whereas an androcide is a mass killing campaign. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 24/11/25 09:25 PM
What caused you to get into Male Advocacy and Men's Rights?I know this thread is getting old but I’m kinda curious about this? Was there anything specific about it, did it just tie together a lot of otherwise loose threads in a way that was a little bit earlier to see the bigger picture? I’ve seen you being very active on this sub and wonder how you got to this position, your background related to this, etc. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 13/11/25 11:39 PM
What is the stance of this subreddit? In general, I’d say the bent of this subreddit is lib-left, in contrast to the auth-left view of feminism. We’re generally quite anti-feminist, and view it as a hate movement founded with the goal of making sure men have no access to their rights for every generation to come. In that regard it’s probably the most successful hate movement, at least in a long time. Some people are still bought into the idea that feminism was one righteous, but even a cursory look pretty quickly debunks that. Hones… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 30/10/25 01:28 PM
We a radical, fundamental makeover of our image and public presenceI think the way you do that is not by trying to "represent the men's rights movement", I think the way you do that is the exact opposite, by not going out of your way to try to represent it, by instead just embodying what it is to be a good human being. People can smell when you're trying to sell them something. Membership in a movement, or having the experiences of a particular gender/sex, should be secondary to who you actually are as a person, because labels will always be an inadequate way t… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 29/10/25 01:02 AM
We a radical, fundamental makeover of our image and public presenceMy guess would that it’s because we’ve had more than enough posts saying that we need to tone police ourselves because other people’s prejudices towards men are somehow our responsibility to debunk, when that’s literally the exact injustice we’re trying to fight against here. Most of us are at the point where we’ve accepted that the reason feminists are pushing the same general sentiment you are, that we need to be nice and not call a bigot a bigot, is so that we feel pressured to stay within wh… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 28/10/25 11:52 PM

Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionMy point wasn't that all this isn't bad and all that, my point was that this sub is primarily used by its community for deconstructing feminist falsehoods from a left-wing perspective, as opposed to the right. Like, yes, all those other things do affect everybody. That was my whole point. For shit that affects everybody, you can go to any mainstream news outlet save for Fox and maybe CBS now, you can go to universities which have long leaned left, if you want to do something about one of those t… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/10/25 03:50 AM
| – | Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionI mean yeah I get the “beating a dead horse” analogy now, my bad on that. But “yall” meaning “other people who aren’t yall”? Cmon bro | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/10/25 10:41 PM |
| – | Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionNah I’ve called out “moderates” (white or otherwise) for being full of shit plenty of times, I harbor no sympathy for them. Also don’t try to argue that the word “yall” refers to other people who aren’t here, that’s obvious bad faith. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/10/25 10:31 PM |
| – | Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionGenuine question, what part of the above comment is "like" "the" white moderate? This is a discussion regarding two forms of very obvious bigotry, and someone suggesting we need to discuss one more than the other for whatever reason. The whole question of "moderates" is usually discussing how people claim they have values but don't follow up with any action and how that's under-addressed as an issue, not that we need to talk less about one type of obvious bigots and more about another. How is th… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/10/25 09:57 PM |
Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionHow exactly is this "like" the white moderate? This is a conversation about whether or not we need to address the avowed hard right that everybody already knows is an issue, not moderates that people claim might not be a threat. I'm genuinely having trouble figuring out how this is relavant to the conversation prior to your comment. It kinda seems like you just came here to say you could make people feel uncomfortable which is kinda the opposite of what this sub is for. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/10/25 08:45 PM
Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionYeah I think this is the crux of it. The right wing is obvious and everyone talks about it. In fact honestly a big part of the issue in politics generally is the insistence upon bashing the right regardless of whether it's productive in that situation. We have no obligation to shy away from speaking here about issues we can't talk about elsewhere. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/10/25 07:36 PM
Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionThe issue isn't that feminism doesn't "tone police", the issue is that they're open chauvinists. Let's not equivocate that with what the original post was actually about, namely that for whatever reason we need to talk more about the right wing specifically on this sub instead of other subs, even if we're sick of talking about them. Like yes, we need to not be misogynists and all that, but that is literally completely unrelated to the actual conversation in this post. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/10/25 07:33 PM
Hot Take: The tone of this sub is starting to head in a concerning directionWe don’t need to tone police ourselves, that’s what feminism is for. The entire mainstream institutional framework and the rest of this site is specifically designed to fight the right. There’s no reason we need to do it specifically here instead of other subs. This sub is for issues that specifically affect men. It’s fine to discuss those things here I suppose, but the reality is that they don’t specifically target men the way feminism does. Like yeah, it does technically affect us when the rig… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/10/25 06:48 PM
How do you reconcile the expectation that feminism should actively support men’s issues with the perception that male advocacy spaces never focus on issues that negatively affect women? The reason it’s hard for you to believe is because you’re a misandrist. I’m done pretending you’re arguing from good faith instead of bigotry. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/10/25 06:49 PM
How do you reconcile the expectation that feminism should actively support men’s issues with the perception that male advocacy spaces never focus on issues that negatively affect women? You mean why is it that in a misandrist society people like watching men get “caught” more than women? Isn’t that kinda self explanatory? Also how am I going to answer for what other random people say? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/10/25 06:25 PM
How do you reconcile the expectation that feminism should actively support men’s issues with the perception that male advocacy spaces never focus on issues that negatively affect women?Wait till you see what percentage of rapes in juvenile detention facilities against boys are committed by women. Also if anyone calling out your obviously bad faith arguments dismissing their oppression is “hostile” to you, they’re not the issue. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/10/25 06:17 PM
How do you reconcile the expectation that feminism should actively support men’s issues with the perception that male advocacy spaces never focus on issues that negatively affect women? If your only response is "sOuRcE???" or "actually patriarchy theory isn't a conspiracy theory because... something about gorillas somehow" or "police don't profile ackchually" you might be wrong at a fundamental level. I'm not going to pull up every scholarly source I've used to come to these conclusions since I was a preteen so that you can go "yeah but gorillas". Take some agency and do your own research, I'm not your professor. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/10/25 06:01 PM
How do you reconcile the expectation that feminism should actively support men’s issues with the perception that male advocacy spaces never focus on issues that negatively affect women?I've answered this question so many effing times so I'm just going to redirect you to a previous iteration of this answer: https://www.reddit.com/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates/comments/1kmy7lu/comment/msom9si/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button EDIT: You have to unhide higher-level comments in that thread so I'll just paste the comment here: For starters, feminist organizations sued to prevent men from being allowed in domestic shelters, t… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/10/25 05:41 PM
How do you reconcile the expectation that feminism should actively support men’s issues with the perception that male advocacy spaces never focus on issues that negatively affect women?Feminists don't need to work for male-specific issues. In fact I'd prefer they didn't. They just need to stop actively setting up systems of oppression that target men while claiming that it's actually liberating men from their own inherently awful nature. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 15/10/25 05:38 PM

Keep in mind that this is the only reason that men and men's rights are relevant again. At the same time, it’s not like feminists care about women’s issues either. Wasn’t it a bunch of 4th wave feminist institutions who paid to cover up Cuomos sexual misconduct? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 13/08/25 10:49 PM
By age four, I'd already learned to hide my feelingsYou clearly have no idea what “stoicism” actually means and have just absorbed the right wing reactionary definition of it. I don’t even know why you’re bothering being on a left wing subreddit if your views regarding men are clearly just as right wing and as feminists. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 24/07/25 03:59 PM
Misandry in mental health field. She’s one of the more powerful women in the medical field in the area I lived in at the time, she used to run a chain of hospitals, all the local providers knew her. I’m sure she’s connected with the board too and that they would do nothing. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 08/07/25 03:23 PM
Misandry in mental health field.I mean it wasn’t in so many words, but she basically made clear she didn’t care one way or the other. So she didn’t explicitly tell me to, but her indifference was heavily implied. Either way, I’ve talked to other professionals and repeatedly bringing up suicidality is not normal. And she clearly knew which answer she wanted. Ethics only apply to women since they’re the perpetual victims and men are perpetually perpetrators. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 08/07/25 03:17 PM
Misandry in mental health field. My first therapist was a raging misandrist and constantly threw condescending stereotypes at me. It got to the point where she interrogated me multiple times each session on whether I wanted to kms, and when I told her she was making me suicidal, she basically told me to jump. The whole field is just a feminist circlejerk about how all issues are caused by manhood. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 08/07/25 01:56 PM
Societal obligationDoes she think supporting gender equality should be a societal obligation for women, regardless of whether equality would result in helping men more than women on the specific issue? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 08/07/25 01:46 PM
A genuine question (no hate please )Yeah I’ve seen this “please no hate” posts that are clearly hateful way too many times to believe this post is good faith | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 06/06/25 07:34 PM
A genuine question (no hate please )Yeah this is the answer. Conversations about men’s issues are never allowed to implicate women because in feminism, due to patriarchy theory, women axiomatically don’t have the agency to do anything wrong. Which, when it truly has been women in positions of power causing a huge number of the issues, is a non starter. They want the appearance of a conversation, but it acts more like an authoritarian show trial that protects the established power structure anyway. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 06/06/25 02:19 PM

Invalidating men’s issues is counterproductive to feminism. If two weeks is off it's not by much. This particular dude runs a bar in a town where people tend to go hard. So not necessarily representative of every guy, but where he's at it's totally rampant. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 19/05/25 05:22 AM
The phrase "men were the ones who created patriarchy" is just a deflection from pointing out their Cakism and hypocrisy when it comes to male gender roles.I just realized, this is actually a pretty good example of 2nd wave feminism helping men too. After this, a woman couldn’t just get a bank account by putting a man’s freedom up as collateral. Now it was her own ass. Makes it hard to justify to your husband that he needs to risk going to prison for you. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 19/05/25 02:09 AM
Invalidating men’s issues is counterproductive to feminism. You’ll hold other women accountable, just not yourself 💅 | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/05/25 10:45 PM

Invalidating men’s issues is counterproductive to feminism. This response kind of proves his point. When someone brings up how feminists often dismiss male issues or frame men as inherently oppressive, the answer is just… to blame men again. No reflection. No ownership. Just another layer of deflection. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/05/25 09:47 PM
Invalidating men’s issues is counterproductive to feminism.I know, this is the stupidest misandrist deflection from feminists who don't want to be held accountable for the bigotry of their own ideology. It's the same as when some feminist does something clearly awful, and when other feminists realize they can't justify it anymore, they lazily lapse into just saying she's "not a real feminist" because they don't have the moral integrity to come to terms with the fact that they're pushing an inherently dehumanizing ideology. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/05/25 09:29 PM

The phrase "men were the ones who created patriarchy" is just a deflection from pointing out their Cakism and hypocrisy when it comes to male gender roles. It requires skill to pull off without opening yourself up to being called a misogynist, but if you get the setup and delivery right, it can be a great strategy. The man labors to get the resources, the woman uses them to raise a child in ways the father has very little actual say in since he's always expected to be gone. | 10 | Invalidating men’s issues is counterproductive to feminism. For starters, feminist organizations sued to prevent men from being allowed in domestic shelters, then when men tried to form their own shelters, sued them out of existence. 87% of women’s shelters that claim they don’t discriminate against men don’t actually allow men when you try to admit one. The Duluth model for sexual abuse protects “victims” by forcing law enforcement and mental health institutions to assume that the man is always the perpetrator and the woman is always the victim. | 0 | Feminism isn’t a broadly right-wing movement, but it is broadly reactionaryThe Bolsheviks literally coined the term "communist" to distinguish themselves from socialist parties who wanted to bring about a communist society in a non-authoritarian way. Before that, the term "communist" didn't exist and "communism" referred exclusively to the type of society, not a political philosophy. Any decent political history class teaches this. | -1 | Feminism isn’t a broadly right-wing movement, but it is broadly reactionary🙄 Playing into the “no true communist” trope today I see. I kinda anticipated this specific exact “ackchually” because that’s what every Marxist says, but claiming auth communism is right wing? That’s pretty far fetched. Communism as Marx defined it literally cannot exist because it requires magical thinking that some specific arrangement of ownership (an institution that doesn’t really exist outside of our minds) is going to magically transform the world from historically deterministic to utopi… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 24/04/25 06:26 PM
Feminism isn’t a broadly right-wing movement, but it is broadly reactionaryCommunism was formed around the idea that there needs to be a vanguard class that makes all the decisions on behalf of the masses, so clearly this isn’t exclusively right wing. I think right wing politics does often include the idea that there should be one class that the law protects but does not bind, and another the law binds but does not protect. But clearly this isn’t just a right wing thing, and doesn’t exist in all right wing ideologies. It’s reactionary, not right wing. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 24/04/25 05:57 PM
I'm so tired of male victims of women being tone-policedExact same for me. I was sexually abused by my mom and I would have to get a PhD in gender studies to not say something that would immediately make any feminist go “bUt mEn…!” because they can’t deal with the fact that the female victimhood narrative their entire world view depends on is being challenged. Often when I try to talk about it with a woman in a position of power she immediately whips out pretty brazen sexism to make me feel less than, or talks about how it’s actually “patriarchy” so … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 20/04/25 06:55 PM
No, feminism is not right-wing. The progressive left has a toxicity problem, and we have to face it to change itDividing people like this is characteristic of feminist movement as much as the right wing movement. Right... correct... Can you think of any other movement that's left-wing that divides people in this way? The left-wing usually worries more about class, not characteristics at birth. The right-wing is all about the idea that the law should protect but not bind one group, and bind but not protect the other. Is that not exactly what this is? So feminism isn't right-wing, but it does right wing thi… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/04/25 03:55 PM
A question for menI’m an American liberal and think of myself as being on the left. But in the modern day, the word “liberal” has expanded in definition to include things like neoliberalism. This is the ideology both of what we would now call more “moderate” Republicans, as well as the “Third Way” Democrats who are the dominant faction in the Democratic Party. So in practice, especially in the US but also to some degree the rest of the West, the word liberal can span from left wing to center right. | 27 | Is Feminism a right-wing movement? There are so many inequities in things like criminal justice and parental rights I don’t really know how it doesn’t amount to systematic oppression. Even things like the universal declaration of human rights only protecting mothers rights, the UN Bangkok rule basically explicitly saying women have to be exempted from the criminal justice system, because going thru the same system as men would be a violation of women’s rights, etc. Really puts that old slogan in perspective. The ceiling for men, … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 13/04/25 05:28 AM
Is Feminism a right-wing movement?Yes, the right wing is preoccupied with the idea that the law should protect but not bind one group, and bind but not protect another. This has been the case for feminism since the first wave when the slogan was “to men their rights and nothing more, to women their rights and nothing less” | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 13/04/25 04:46 AM
Liberals only use feminine men as the poster child for non-conformity for men. Because they are afraid of true non-conformity for men.I’m a feminine straight guy, and I do find that I sometimes confuse women, typically those of a more feminist persuasion. They don’t like the fact that I’m influenced by multiple “boxes” but am good at being slippery enough to not really fit into one box nicely. In general, I don’t think the mental models feminism encourages can really accommodate much more than a caricature of a man. And yeah, I think defying gender norms is something a lot of feminists think only women are qualified to do. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 13/04/25 02:39 AM
