It was less what she said than her disgust at one wage gap and arrogant delight (not the right word, but I can't think of a better one right now) at the other that irked be. I have a friend who I was talking to about the wage gap. She was complaining that men make more. I told her how nowadays women in our age bracket out earn men. Her response was "that's the way it should be. Women are smarter." -_- Pena's statement reminded me of this.

My favorite part about saying you're not a feminist, and someone replying "oh, you hate women?" is that feminism pretends to be about equality. So, not being a feminist should be about hating everybody. I feel like that's the shortest way to out feminism as not actually being about equality.

It would be great if they offered safe rides home for everyone. But, if this is a private organization then I have no problem with them taking up a torch for a cause they believe in. If it was government run then I would have a problem with it. There are bigger issues than taking offence with an organization helping people they feel need help, even if it is somewhat misguided (referring, of course, to the higher rate of men as victims of violent crime.).

Looks like it. I just think using lenses to analyze anything is interesting. It's seen a lot in how we change our views of history (lenses can include, religious, gender, class, race, and just about anything.. even the four Gospels of the Bible each use their own lens to tell the story). Patriarchy theory is a lens used by feminism as a means to view the world. The problem comes when one believes the lens-view of the world instead of what is actually occurring. I like a lot of the ideas. I think a lot of issues can come down to the desire to protect a future generation from the hardships many have faced. The statistics for crime, mental illness, and drug use for children growing up without fathers is astounding. I just noticed I was banned from r/feminism :(. I posted one thing. "I think it's unfair to say men's rights activists should stop. Any hate speech won't further their goals and that seems to be a common criticism against them. But, seeing killallmen and maletears trend in feminist circles, I have to wonder if either group should have a monopoly on the idea of equality." Thank you for the advice. I do my best not to generalize, as it discounts the truth of all the beautiful people I've met in my life. Have no worries about my becoming a rage-merchant.
