So you don't respect her. She sounds ridiculous.

I had a female friend at 14 who thought that sex was just two people hugging naked.

I guess from my experience a boyfriend or girlfriend is someone you respect intellectually and can see yourself having a long term relationship with. Someone with a great body that is fun to be with would not be a girlfriend to me - that would be a fuck buddy or friend-with-benefits. But, I guess the definition of girlfriend is different from person to person! My bad.

Oh, I thought you implied that she was passionate about the thesis.

I'm not saying that what she did is worthy of respect - just that he shouldn't be with her in the first place if he thinks so little of what she dedicated her study to.

I'm not suggesting that what she did is respectable, but I'm suggesting that if you think the thing she has dedicated her education to is not worthy of respect, you shouldn't be with her.

I hope she is your ex-girlfriend because it doesn't sound like you respect her in the slightest.

Fuuuuck. I really like Kristen Bell. She has always come across as rational and mature to me. I blame Hollywood/Feminist brainwashing. Same goes for Sarah Silverman. It's pretty easy to buy into victimhood. It's tantalizing.

Wow I thought you were joking at first but having read the documents now I feel I can respond to this. There is a 30 minute gap between when she was conciously calling people and when the Swedes reportedly saw her being humped and "not moving" So who knows.

I mean this is obvious. DO NOT teach your daughter or son that it is a good idea to go out clubbing and getting wasted, and that they should see that as something you can do without any consequences. You can simultaneously teach them that their bodies only belong to them and to not let anyone disrespect them in that way. But, drinking is inherently dangerous aside from how people behave around you. You might walk in front of a car - and that IS your fault!

That sounds all well and good. Would you give the same advice to women? Find a partner who aligns with and supports your plans?

Wouldn't it be logical that all women have rape fantasies? It's submissive as fuck.

So you only want to be with a woman that has no plans of her own except to serve you?

You said all women love rough sex. Then you said women that love rough sex are unstable and you shouldn't be with them. Ergo you shouldn't commit to any woman long term.

They don't want "alpha males." They just want something different. They'll get bored of you too.

You're assuming this all happened in a quick progression. They may have danced together and kissed while relatively sober, then spent the rest of the party getting completely wasted, then went outside for a walk (maybe this is where she began stumbling and becoming incoherent, etc), then they ended up behind a dumpster where she passed out. I'd like to know if there were any witnesses at the party who could say what state they seemed to be in when they left together. It's possible they brought a…

The fact that he was able to get up and run away makes me doubt that he was blackout drunk. I'm not sure at what point of drunkenness you would have blurred vision, maybe he couldn't see that she was passed out.

Okay, that's good. To be fair, I think Fry said it rather crassly as well but maybe he was hoping to offend people at that point. Meanwhile, I completely agree with you. The way to help victims is not to shelter them from the world, and censor everything they could be exposed to. It is ultimately up to them to deal with their problems, whether it be through medication or counciling or what have you. Certainly society can help these kinds of individuals by educating people about abuse and PTSD bu…

But what you are saying here makes it sound like you are suggesting that it should be easy for victims of child rape to get over it, and if it damaged their mental health in some way then they are bad people for not being strong enough to overcome it. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean by "wallowing in self pity"

Why is there no reason to believe that they are telling the truth? They withheld information because they were ashamed of spending time with him afterwards, and didn't think anyone would find out. Sexual assault victims often continue seeing the perpetrator due to shock and denial, and other psychological issues. That doesn't prove that they were lying about him assaulting them. Certainly, it creates a reasonable doubt, but I don't think it's strong evidence that it didn't occur. The judge even …

Your arguments lack any basis in reason or logic.
/r/MensRights27/03/16 03:46 PM

sigh Just because they were shown to lie and withhold information under trial does not mean that the events did not occur. It means that their case is not strong enough to determine one way or the other what really occurred.
/r/MensRights27/03/16 03:02 PM

You shouldn't reach any conclusion, there is not enough evidence to say either way.
/r/MensRights27/03/16 02:50 PM

You are as bad as people that believe he should have been found guilty. Have you even been paying attention?
/r/MensRights27/03/16 02:12 PM

Not really. What if these women did not consent to the assault, but discovered that they enjoyed being hit sexually, and thus went back for more? What occurred initially would still be classified as a sexual assault and is still illegal, and shouldn't happen to people. An alternative explanation is that because sexual assault can be so psychologically taxing, these women did not make logical or reasonable choices after the assault, but really did not enjoy it. I'm not suggesting that either expl…

Agreed, but there isn't sufficient evidence that consent took place in the supposed Ghomeshi assaults.
/r/MensRights26/03/16 07:46 PM

Fair enough, I agree.
/r/MensRights26/03/16 07:36 PM

Sorry, I misspoke.... what I should have said is that sexual assault is wrong and should be illegal whether or not some women enjoy it afterwards.
/r/MensRights26/03/16 06:59 PM
2

True. "he said, she said" evidence should never be enough. What do you think of "similar event" evidence (when multiple complainants come forward with a similar version of events (a la Bill Cosby). Does that make it more likely to be true?
/r/MensRights26/03/16 06:37 PM
1

It's actually not clear whether or not Mr. Ghomeshi was falsely accused, just that there is not enough evidence to convict.

Rape is wrong and should be illegal whether or not some women enjoy it.
/r/MensRights26/03/16 05:59 PM

It's sexual assault because they didn't give consent before hand. There is no such thing as after the fact consent. Just because some women may have found out that they liked it doesn't mean that other women enjoyed it. Also, going back for a hand job doesn't mean that she enjoyed the assault either. Sexual assault really messes with your mind. All of this is to say that it's very complex and hard to prove one way or the other. Not conducive to justice.

You can get together with him and jerk him off, but disclose this in all your statements and keep it consistent. The judge said that he would have understood this behaviour if they had been honest about it.
/r/MensRights26/03/16 05:49 PM

The argument I heard was that because there are so many accusations it is very unlikely that they are all lying.
/r/MensRights11/02/16 12:56 AM

Don't you think there are some cases of "immobilization due to fear" that could be pretty obvious body language suggesting "I'm not enjoying this" I just find it hard to believe that every person that says they were too scared to fight back is lying.

Well, in practice, there are certainly assholes that have sex with drunk/drugged people while sober, but I'm sure telling them that that is assholian wouldn't stop them from doing it.
/r/MensRights10/01/16 06:00 PM
1

You say the law doesn't try to protect people from reduced inhibitions, etc, but drunk enough to void consent can be taken at the same level? I don't get it. Drunk enough to void consent should not have to do with their inhibitions or judgement, but rather things like slurred speech, falling over, vomiting, like you say, and people that take advantage of that are really heinous.
/r/MensRights09/01/16 11:29 PM
1

Okay, good point. So legally it's rape, but it's not considered a bad thing, as it is in the case of a sober person having sex with someone that is too drunk to consent. But how drunk do you have to be to not be able to consent?
/r/MensRights09/01/16 07:09 PM
1

I think that depends on what level of inebriation from alcohol or drugs constitutes "obvious" inability to consent. Maybe when the flow chart says "obvious" they mean that if the other person is significantly drunk/drugged too, then lack of consent from the other person is not "obvious" due to your own inebriation.

It's not that you can't assume a skimpy dress means she is interested in sex, but rather that a skimpy dress doesn't mean she is interested in sex with you Young women are definitely very interested in sex, and of course that's why they dress that way, but the problem with slut shaming (to me) is just that you shouldn't blame her for dressing that way if she gets raped or something, which I think if it ever did happen, doesn't happen often these days, as far as I know. But anyways, I hope there …

I think it's a shame that some women feel too scared or pressured to say anything even if they didn't want to have sex at the time, but that doesn't make it rape and a poster like this isn't going to help. I also think women should stop playing coy in the bedroom because they don't want to seem like sluts, and should be taught to be more forward with their desires. That would help more than this poster will.

His behaviour actually has more to do with him having cancer and finally becoming the " real man" who stood up for himself and got what he wanted, as he had been a wimp all of his life. Which is still a stereotype, for sure.

I don't think it's holding women back but it's a gross thing to say (by either sex) and I wouldn't associate with people who go around saying things like that.

Is this really happening? I don't follow feminist rhetoric THAT closely, so I've never heard someone get offended that men hit on women. Examples?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
