most women do not seek a divorce unless she has or thinks she has another man as backup. Fantastic observation

Spending time with everyone else, and doing everything except being without you is very hurtful. Here's my guess at what's happening: It seems like an issue that grew from the time of the cancer to now, but you're looking at the externals only (we get along pretty well). She's had quite a bit of internal turmoil happening for many years, and maybe she's been hoping it just went away. The fear of death would definitely change someone. Maybe it made her feel like she wanted to be free to do her th…

You will feel better with time. Seek to put things in perspective. You lived, you made mistakes, you learned, you survived. Now, keep on living.

This is not a turn off at all. Try leading with it once you start speaking to someone.

If you're speaking about cleanliness, I'm entirely with you on that. That's one of my must-haves. If you're not speaking about cleanliness, then you're just being shallow.

I'm sorry this happened to you. You sound like a sweetheart. Like others have said, you had too many expectations too soon. It's good that you guys spoke so much, but you needed time to see if the actions matched the words. All the best going forward.

Maybe you're in denial. Maybe you say you like certain things because it sounds good to say you like those things, but you're not being 100% honest with yourself. Maybe you don't know. One person asked you what you like in a man and you said, dresses well, doesn't talk much, keeps to themselves, and have an X factor(?). That doesn't sound like a very descriptive list or a necessarily positive person. Your list doesn't touch on character traits at all. Seems like you're too close to the surface a…

Believe it or not. It's that simple. Now to extend on the word appreciate, we can tie in respect, being concerned for his well-being, learning his love language etc.

Good for you on calling this out. As someone who had a messy partner you can start with two things: 1. When you make a mess, clean it up right away. 2. If you drop something, pick it up right away.

If you're relying on feelings instead of the decision to commit and to love, you'll find yourself on a rollercoaster. If everything else is in place—both parties on the same page, and sufficiently mature (as others have said)—that sounds like a good place to introspect and examine your motives.

To me, it feels more cold and business-like than a comfortable, loving, giving relationship. (Not that business arrangements can't exist in such relationships).

Over the years he's been chasing you, how have you not been able to spot some of the things you're seeing now? Surely chasing involves him sharing.
/r/RedPillWomen04/02/22 03:22 PM

Do you agree with him just to avoid conversations? If so, this is still bad communication. Was he once a shy or reserved man and now he's getting even? Some men respond to a difficult partner by becoming more rigid. This may be where your husband is. Has your change from being argumentative been accompanied by a discussion as well as proof of that change in your behavior? If not, he likely still sees you as difficult. Edited for wording.
/r/RedPillWomen30/01/22 05:06 AM

This example sounds unreasonable of him. Submission only applies within reasonable circumstances and I would argue it should always go hand in hand with teamwork and the best interest of the family's well-being. Can he be described as a tyrant? Is this new behavior? Are you generally argumentative or disagreeable? Your children's behavior sounds age appropriate. It sounds like he an inexperienced father. If there's a mutual family member you can involve in a non-confrontational way that may help…

It's good that you're thinking about these things, but many of these ideas grow and mature with us as we experience life. In time you'll be able to express clearly what you do want.

Can you find a marriage therapist who has dealt with Aspergers patients? This seems like an issue that may not be solvable intra-relationally. It sounds like there may be perception issues from both sides.

I'm not sure about these answers. I'm a man and this man's lack of emotion and willingness to share sounds more than just stoic -- definitely not average as far as men go in my experience. He sounds repressed to an extremely unhealthy degree. People who repress tend to snap or otherwise expel that emotion negatively eventually. Everyone needs someone to vent to. Usually for a husband, their wife is that person. If he doesn't speak to you at all, but he speaks to others, there's some brokenness i…

I'm hurt for you. It's a difficult situation. Men often go for a particular body type - which is an integral part of the initial attraction. The real of it is that bodies change, especially after pregnancy, in an unpredictable way. What I'm imagining he misses is not so much the weight as the curves. There's also a certain degree of comfort that comes with hugging a more sizable woman than a slim one especially if he craves affection and regular closeness. Neither of you is wrong in this situati…

few of their relationships seem that great or aspirational to me. This is the key. It's not about the glamor, or style, or whatnot. What a man wants more than love is peace and respect. You are providing these things. I'm willing to bet you put in more effort than the women you described in making the relationship work.
/r/RedPillWomen18/12/21 10:38 PM

I understand your concern. It's possible that he actually is happy. One possibility about the women you describe (the ones he has been with) is that at times they can make men who are not on or above their "level" (financially or success-wise) feel inadequate - treating them like children, or otherwise disrespecting or condescending to them. This is quite the opposite of what I believe RPWs preach, which is adding value and essentially growing together symbiotically. With you, he just feels free…

You're not sure how you feel because you don't know him. Why are you going out with him if you're so uncertain? Are you serious about getting to know him? If you're not, don't waste his time. If you are serious, put in the effort to get to know him and try not to make decisions based on emotions- which it sounds like you're doing.

I don't see why that's a red flag. Why does the age difference automatically mean he's not genuine?
/r/RedPillWomen07/11/21 11:23 PM

So is there a reason for you to actually make a decision right now? Can you allow the relationship to grow? Have you had a conversation on expectations? If you haven't, and there are no romantic behaviors, why worry? If there are romantic behaviors and you feel how you feel, then it sounds like you're leading him on. In short, have the conversation on expectations. If there is a mismatch in expectations and an unwillingness to compromise on either side, end the connection.

I didn't say he should have seen your breasts, I said it should have been a discussion if it's something that bothers you so much. Edit: As for him thinking it's a big deal, you didn't make them yourself, so there isn't anything you can do about that. If you trust in his love, that should be sufficient to cover your worry.
/r/RedPillWomen04/11/21 08:06 PM

I feel like this is less about how you look and more about your approach to problems. How are you just now dealing with this and among strangers no less? This should have been one of the discussions you had with your spouse-to-be and have been one of the conversations that either bonded you together or drove you apart. Any action you're considering that involves deceit or hiding is a definite no from me. The fact that your mother is suggesting you hide from your husband makes me feel that this i…

Your descriptions of yourself are quite sad. You view yourself in a very, very negative light. If you are looking to couple up with such a mindset, and you struggle to accept yourself, will that not make it difficult for your partner to accept you as well? Relationships have a way of magnifying baggage. I urge you to consider if you are in a good space for a relationship at all.

Diet for sure, but also get moving more. Our body gets accustomed to us not moving a lot. Instead of only counting calories, burn more calories. Get into the habit of moving. Find a hobby you like where you must move a lot- tennis, dancing, hiking etc, so that in order to get better at the hobby, you'd have to work out and increase your fitness. It will require a lifestyle change not a diet change only.

If sex is a gift you tend to give away quickly, it won't feel as valuable - then he might not feel valuable as a result. I think you struck gold with this one. I never heard the idea before, but it resonates with me. Similar possibly to the wife who is cheated on and asks her husband, "do you love her?" Knowing that the love that made her feel unique and special coming from him, is now being shared, makes her feel less special.

The relationship may work out. People say age is just a number but then frown on situations like these. Relationships are more spiritual, emotional, and mental than physical. Society focuses more on the physical than anything else. You don't have to. No one can speak for your connection but you. On a practical note, you will have to think about issues like children, energy levels, activities in common, and aging. In ten years he'll likely start slowing down. In twenty years, you'll have a senior…

This is not the case with women, as usually the moment a woman cheats, all respect and attraction she had for her husband is gone This is an interesting point that I've never seen before. Do you have references or is it just life experience?

The last thing a man needs when he gets home is a wife who doesn't allow him to vent freely. You're recommending she passively listen which is half-ignoring him. I'm sure there's more to his mental state and I doubt punishing him for that is the answer.

You're doing a good job being his friend in this situation. You're giving him what he needs which is the encouragement that he can do better elsewhere, plus you're showing genuine concern for his mental health. It's very easy to get stuck in a dead-end job where the years just fly by. He may be moving cautiously and not wanting to have you feel unstable should he make that transition. These COVID times are already full of uncertainty and he may be more comfortable right now with the devil he kno…

Your question seems a bit tone deaf. You describe a number of things that would be causing him stress right now, then go on to describe a number of ways that same stress is affecting him physically and otherwise, then go on to ignore those effects and ask how you can still get what you want despite what he's dealing with. Do you really love him for him? It's a relationship, and it's going to take work, patience, and understanding. His lack of communication may not mean he doesn't care about you …

Are you afraid that: a. he's not responsible with money, b. that he made a mistake choosing you (or vice versa), c. that he doesn't have the amount of money he says he has, d. that you having this new lifestyle will mean you're giving up your power to him and somehow you'd owe him, or e. that this marriage seems to good to be true? It sounds like you're afraid of what you could have or you feel somehow unworthy. So you're trying to hold on to the familiar. Have a conversation with him. Edit: you…

What damage? You expressed yourself honestly - you can't control your facial expressions all the time. Tell him you're aware of the face you made and if you insulted him, you're sorry. Let that be the starting point of your discussion of the problem. That's far from emasculation though. If you regularly treat him with respect, understanding, and love, he likely wouldn't read too much into your expression. Discussion, introspection, and compromise are needed in general, and in a marriage you'll b…

He seems arrogant and disrespectful. It sounds like he would have had fun trips and fun times with you but never see you as an equal. He probably heard "open relationship" and conflated that with hyper-sexual. It's actually not a far reach and is a conceivable error. You may be grieving the possibilities you saw in your future with him more than anything else. The things you miss about him aren't really character traits- handsome, rich, attracted to you. I know it's easier said than done, but ke…

You're entirely right to feel upset. He's wrong on several fronts and he knows that. You were disrespected in various ways, primarily because he feels he could walk right back into your life with no repercussions. (Otherwise he wouldn't have done this). I'm sorry for the length of time you've spent on this relationship. If you're considering working through this hellacious incident, please be wary not to fall victim to the sunk cost fallacy.

You have my vote. The same qualities that make a female friend pleasant to talk to and be around, are the same qualities that man would look for in a relationship, so the next logical step is a relationship.

Anytime someone is honest with me I appreciate it. It is better you know how he feels than otherwise. As long as you know you've established boundaries and he's not crossing them then fine. Having said that, be aware that those feelings won't just go away because you said no. So if you're moving forward with a friendship, be prepared to keep little reminders ready. Having said that, I believe this is the difficulty with male-female friendships. It's very easy for feelings to develop.
