The more emoticons, the better. If she starts sending really short messages/chats ("ok" "kk" "yea" "neat") and it takes an absurdly long time for her to send them, this is a bad sign. I don't necessarily agree with the idea that the longer you text the higher your risk of being in the friend-zone. It depends on what you text about and whether you're flirty over texts. "Hey gorgeous," "What's up beautiful" - yes they are canned, but if you keep calling her these complimentary nicknames throughout…

I find I get into my best relationships in the spring. One of my closest friends notices his sex drive tapers starting in the fall and lasts all winter long. I know it's superstitious but I think while it may not be harder to get laid in winter (more parties, more drinking, more people don't want to go home to their cold beds alone or whatever) I think it's harder to start a relationship then. People seem to hunker down and hold on to whatever they've got.
