Look, I'm not really a fan of AVFM, I was banned for being too "leftist" or some such on an article. But I thought they did a pretty good job with the first conference. Everyone likes to break Paul Elam's balls, but he seems like a good guy. He uses inflammatory rhetoric to draw attention to the MRM. I do think that it would be useful for MRA's to create a new venue separate from AVFM for the next conference.

Back in the early 80's the Ontario provincial government in Canada performed an experiment. They gave everybody on welfare a "living wage" and stopped requiring them to perform job searches. Gender roles are the idea that everyone has to do certain behaviors In the context of hunter-gatherers it means that people do what is most efficient. That's it. Canucks have a very high level of gun ownership. The guy from the real story was apparently a bit arrogant, and didn't bring his rifle. But he did bring bear spray. He just didn't have time to go for it. The attack happened in split-seconds. Bears are highly adept hunters and can run faster than horses. They're not big dumb animals. This bear was hungry.
