Normally my mind goes like "wow, you're a lot of work." That's my cue to move on.

A lot of women consider this cringe and needy. You gotta discern who you do this with and why. If you're just doing it for sex or to impress it'll be noticeable. If you're doing it because you're being yourself, give it a go. This could potential cause more misses than hits if not done right or with the right person. There are many better ways to show you are a gentleman.

Nope, women do it too, and it's also a turn off.

Don't have conversations on text, it kills the vibe. Only text for a quick hi and setup plans. Nothing more. Leave the conversation to in person.

I'm happily married and I lurk here all the time. It kinda helps with relationships too, and most of the time, shit here is very often funny / ridiculous.

Because the best way to get someone's attention, is to remove yours. It can apply to pretty much anybody.

A couple years back, a friend of mine said as a joke "he's smarter than he looks" after I stumbled over my words in front of other people That hit really deep and I thought about it for weeks. Like I said, he was joking, but it still makes me wonder if other people really have that perception of me.

Ah no, it's not my English, my english is fast, it's like my second mother tongue, problem is I learned it in a Latino context, so I know the words, but the accent is still there - this makes me nervous around native speakers that I don't know very well (with friends I don't care). My thinking is slow even in Spanish (I speak German too, same problem =P) so language is not the problem. To put it in perspective, it's like "The Turtle and the Hare", I need to take my time, make notes, think it ove…

This is amazing and I was recently thinking about this myself. I've been doing a lot of self exploring, and I realized that what I think I am, is not what I really am. I always visualize myself as being funny, adventurous, daring, smart; and the truth is I'm not always like that; obviously I have my moments, but that's not the general rule. In general I'm reserved, quiet, only funny when I'm comfortable with friends, smart but not fast (I'm a software engineer, I can figure out complex things, b…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
