Hard to say for sure. Her claim was that she should keep the money because he would just pay his lawyer with it... but of course it benefits her to use that argument because if it's accepted then she gets to keep the money. She therefore has reason to lie and/or exaggerate the situation. I would suspect that the legal costs are non-trivial but do not take the entire award, otherwise it would have made sense for the judge to also award costs so that the husband would at least get something. Seems a bit of a pyrrhic victory unfortunately. She won 1.3 mil, lose 50% to tax, that's 650 k. She took the annuity and kept it secret for over 18 months, so presumably she has spent whatever portion she has received. So maybe it's done to the mid 500's. Then come the legal fees, which the court didn't award to ex husband.
