Of course genes matter. Evolution matters. People should do what comes natural to them that will create a happy society. In India there is a strong patriarchy and strong family and community. They have a very low per capita crime rate, teenager are not getting high or drunk, people are very respectful and happy, laugh, make jokes etc.
