I’m 37 with no kids and plan to fully retire at around 50. I can’t even imagine how much kids would have fucked up my life. I have an awesome place, fun things to do, and generally the envy of most of my guy friends who are wage slaves during the day, only to come home and take over for the mom who worked so hard watching the kids for 8 or 9 hours. I have at least one friend that actually adopted his wife’s kids. What a burden.

I lived in an absolute shit hole with no hope of getting in to college. Went into the Marine Corps for 5 years, went to UNC instead of going back home. Now I work for a fortune 300 company with an easy ass job that pays for anything I really need. I could have just stayed in the trash heap I came from though.

I don’t know how the convo came up but a friend was talking with me about transphobics. I told him I’m not sold on it and think it’s largely a mental condition similar to how people start getting physical symptoms during stressful or anxious situations, such as goosebumps, throwing up, hair standing up, dry mouth, etc. He tried to educate me on how transphobic I was but I didn’t care, he can go his own way and if he really thinks 1/300 people are trans that’s fine with me.
