Sending you healing hun! I totally understand your feelings of not wanting it but getting coerced into it. Now you have the tools to be wiser and picky. Be gentle with yourself and your thoughts. You do deserve the very best!

I agree, in my teens, everything FDS has said, I knew and upheld. When I turned 22 and was in university, I began to question my standards as too high and for the next 2 years dealt with men who were not worth it. Society has a way of playing into it. We truly live in a patriarchal world. All of a sudden, I wanted to be accepted by men. To be the 'cool' girl. In 2020, I woke up after finding this sub and my beliefs being solidified.!

If you don't mind me asking, how are you making 6 figures at 26? I'm trying to get on that wave.

Thank you for your message. I don't know if I can classify what he did as taking advantage, though, he definitely had his cake and began to treat me like an after-thought. I do feel like he used me and at the time I thought I was using him too. (I had the toxic mentality of "if men can do it, I can too.") Tbh, I didn't want a situationship, I just settled because that's all he was offering and I needed an escape from my other life struggles. I saw him as an escape. I'm very low conflict so I was…

Thank you for this. I am human, I should not feel bad for wanting some type of human interaction. I just wish I was stronger at the time.

It is also like we are not allowed to make mistakes and we should have known better. I seem to be having the worst time forgiving myself for having a situationship. I am so ashamed of myself because I am honestly my biggest critic, but I really just needed someone at the time. So I settled, I eventually "left" him when the disrespect began but I find it hard to forgive myself.

I always hated the "men do what you allow." The only times I've allowed mistreatment or made poor decisions is because I was vulnerable, insecure or drunk. I do not know if this is the same, but I feel like men should have agency too. It's always "you chose him, you picked him." It was your decision. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Thank you for this, I remember telling myself I needed an escape. I wish I was more mature. I do not know if I will ever forgive myself for how easily I trusted.

Low key, feel the same, I barely like any man. Maybe I find two/year that I'm attracted to who approach me and it doesn't always work out. I find women so so so beautiful (probably why men are so confused). But I'm not fluid, I know I'm straight. My friends sometimes say I'm picky. Hope this helps, you ain't alone.

I commented that there was no way I would accept that. I used to accept these dates, and drink dates. Nope, mindset completely changed after FDS! I wish I found you guys sooner though.

I resonate with this, I felt a lot for a guy I saw literally under a year. Time doesn't always equate to feelings. Feelings are just feelings. It's okay to miss him.

I did not vet my first WM properly, fell for him so quickly because he was different - he treated me with respect, kindness - the bare minimum. He let me down, and I let him get away with red flags and I'm still getting over being so nonchalant. Like others have said, vet them all the same.

You are not alone. I let my guard down once too, I thought we had hit it off. I've made that drinking mistake too so now I only get tipsy/drunk with my family, friends or alone. If anything, I have two glasses of wine if they insist on getting drinks and that's it. Seeing me drunk is a privilege now, uni taught me.

Another great one is, "IF MY DAUGHTER WERE GOING THROUGH THIS, WOULD I BE OKAY WITH IT?" This has helped me immensely.

Ah, the cringe moment for me when I look back at what I accepted. We live and we learn ladies. Someone once said that if you ain't cringing at your past, you ain't growing. So let's grow, and glow!

Everything you said here, I have felt. I have compared myself to them even when I knew I was a great woman. My fwb situation is different though, I cared for him deeply very quickly so ended up catching feelings even though I also didn't want a relationship when we met. When I finally decided to end the situation because I wanted more, I told him I didn't want a casual fling and he said he thought we were more than a casual fling. I didnt believe him, he acted like we were casual. He was a nice …

Ladies, also watch out because sometimes, their IG might be clean but they have another account to follow those lewd accounts. A guy friend of mine revealed that to me last year.
