Either one or two. Depends a lot on what he leads with, his body language and the way he looks at you you can usually distinguish if he's looking you up, just wanting to make a friend on something mutual, or if he's aiming to hit on you or flirt. Usually in settings like that though, you're safer assuming the latter and pushing back if you're not interested while getting yourself in view of others for support if they get any ideas. Safe to do it with other women too.

I mean. If I have the time, and he manages to pass it off not as creepy or invasive but just as genuinely his way of learning about himself and what works for him and not, sure, I guess. I mean. I don't see any reason not to unless the questions were awful.

About 14, right when puberty was started. Grossest shit ever. No idea why people think that shit is okay.

I'm a lesbian, so I'd be shooting for other gals like me. Low sex drive, generally puts much higher value in other romantic elements. But if I was straight, yeah I'd do the same thing. Look for someone like me. Clearly the relationship won't work otherwise, one of us will just be unhappy. I've had to leave people over sexual incompatibility before. Its important to find a partner that'll match you on things like that, not just settle with whatever. You'll both be unhappy. Its kinda like any othe…

For me? A unique form of companionship. There is just a difference in feeling between romantic love and platonic love. Its pretty specific, and I don't even delve into a relationship hard before I feel it. Its hard to describe a feeling with that much complexity, especially one with no comparison since everyone feels love differently. I guess a really simplified way would be this feeling "I want to spend my life with this person, I want to feel this same feeling back from them, I want their care…

Sex and a relationship are two entirely different stories. I was in agreement, like, yeah I could do that no problem until it got to the part where there would just be no romance at all. That's where I'd say no. Could I do it? Yeah. Would I prefer it? No. I like me some romance. But I'm not particularly sexual, and sex doesn't matter to me much really. You wanna distinguish those two concepts. They're not necessarily intrinsically tied.

I'm a pretty big introvert. By the end of the day I'm usually pretty run ragged from having to be social all day. Means more often than not I just don't wanna do anything out. Just enjoy a good movie or play a game or read. And usually I just date in the same category of people who like that sort of thing. We can watch each other play, or enjoy a bad movie together and poke fun at it, or cook a fun recipe together. But if I haven't like.. gone out and done something proper in awhile I do get a b…

👀 Hahaha! Depends on how large the gap is. A good chunk of those physical ones are flexible. I've definitely dated outside of a lot of those things before.

Let the local lesbian chime in, lol. Might be a fun insight to your question. I typically like brown hair a lot. I just find it really pretty, the whole spectrum of it. From a deeper brunette to a more dirty blonde mixture. Eye colour doesn't matter much to me really. Maybe hazel or brown? I like a gal that's roughly the same height as me. I've dated a bit shorter and a bit higher. I'm just shy of 5'10 so its a bit rare to find gals a bit higher, lol. But either way I like. I just dislike differ…

I think there isn't anything bad about leaving a relationship because your needs aren't being met. But I also believe that doesn't mean anyone from either side should be forced into sex they don't want, that's just rape. Ultimately though, if you're in a relationship that isn't panning out because a need isn't being met, then its probably time to sit down and have a talk and see what's up and why the situation has changed. If y'all can find a solution, perfect! If not, then its probably time to …

Truth though. I help some of my guy friends out that way. Great way to strengthen some friendships for the outgoing and introverted crowds alike.

I'm usually not a super expressive person for a lot of emotions unless they're really strong. So my face is often fairly neutral, almost like a poker face. Unfortunately its fairly often it gets mistaken for a face of disinterest from people who don't know me very well. Or people in a bad mood. It comes with some benefits too though so for as much hostility as I get sometimes from people misinterpreting it, or me missing out on things because people thought I wasn't very interested, I also have …

I'm a pretty big nerd and video game hobbyist, so just innately I typically come across more dudes I share interests with than other gals. Means over the years I've made a lot of guy friends, some I'm really close to. And I'll say for the most part, its been pretty great! I've had hiccups, but generally that's from people who show off things early enough they never ended up getting that close to me. Never discount friends based on gender, you're cutting off a lot of people, half of the world, ar…

Sorry, you can only pick one of the three. Would you like billionaire with a side dish of vampire, or perhaps the caveman soup, mademoiselle? The chef has prepared them to exquisite perfection for any woman's taste buds.

I think its more lack of communication. Nobody was ever taught how to sit down and discuss their expectations, wants and goals early on. And ultimately it'll lead to conflicts that cause irreparable damage. Nor the emotional maturity to kinda really sit down and discuss problems as they arise, or even to recognize where they are in life and if they're even at the maturity level to handle something long-term, let alone being at a place in life where long-term you're going to be satisfied with the…

What does this even mean. "The bucks stops with"? I don't understand, but this sounds ridiculous. No partner should have more say than the other, that's how you kill a relationship or start generating hatred, unless they magically always make the decision somehow both of them want. Or the other person not making the decisions just has no backbone or doesn't care. Most relationships I've seen really last any amount of time is when both people are constantly communicating, and always making their …

I think its more about the quality of those in your life than the quantity when it comes to how someone is raised. Having one or even fifteen people won't matter if they all suck, teach you bad advice and lessons and mistreat or mishandle raising you. One good person, or two, or whatever, is really what will help the most. I'm not saying things like stability don't matter, they do. But ultimately someone from a stable home still ends up a tantruming Karen if they aren't raised by the right peopl…

Lesbian woman. Personal body count of 3. Two exes and my current partner. Honestly if I have to pick something that surprises me.. it'd depend on the number itself just as much as it would their age. 20 at 19 for example would make my eyes pop a little in surprise. 20 at 40 wouldn't really, lots of folks out there like that. I don't really mind any of it. Having a good partner isn't necessarily indicative of their sexual partners of the past. It can be, but then you'd have other signs, not just …

Well you didn't specify what gentleman actually means, honestly, hence why I went with my own definition. I don't see a problem with a guy who goes out to drink with a couple friends, or even hits up a girl he thinks is cute, none of this is un-gentlemanly to me. What is is refusing to accept a no, or persisting despite discomfort from the other party. That's when it crosses over in my mind. So if your question is supposed to very specifically have one definition of gentleman, then you need to c…

Bowling would be a fun first date! I was going to suggest that. Thrift shopping might be fun too honestly. If you've got an amply sized thrift store around, or antique mall. Lots of good date ideas out there to explore.

Well I'm gay so I'm gonna go with the former. Gentleman thankfully step down when I tell them I'm not interested. Although by Disney terms that's not necessarily true. I guess it depends how one defines gentleman, but in my definition, an actual gentleman would know when to not push it. It'd also make going out drinking a lot safer. No worrying about roofies and shit, no weird guys who get violent with you, no stalker problems.

I think the "never over their first love" theory comes from an amplification of a specific type of gal essentially stretched out and made to fit over anyone who is a woman, which more often than not seems to come from a place of insecurity on the part of the guy. I lot of guys, even here it seems, get really self conscious and really insecure with the "performance", or with the idea that if their partner ever had anyone else, there would be comparisons.. which is negative to them, hence where th…

Usually my flirting is pretty overt. But I only tend to end up getting attracted to people I've known as friends for quite some time. And when it happens I'll usually express it pretty heavily with things I think would interest them and things that show off my goofiest side. Like cheesy pick up lines, or getting super involved in all of our conversations, asking tons of questions and nerding out in front of them to the extent I just blab and blab at length without a care. It gets pretty obvious …

Personally marriage has a huge set of legal but also symbolic benefits honestly. Legally in emergencies, you have someone you trust calling the shots for medical stuff or with regards to your will and possessions. And I wouldn't want anyone else getting my collections, I don't think anyone else would appreciate them in quite the same way she does. Nor their memories. Let alone also being legally recognised as a couple, and getting the benefits therein with taxes and property and so on. Symbolica…

It can and does often work out pretty well in my experience, both with myself as a lesbian and my partner and then also with het families I've had in my life. Those that communicated fairly and split based on what they agreed to and generated their fairness by being essentially two equal voices and both mattering in the process.. well those marriages had gone on their entire lives pretty much. I dunno, maybe I'm just accustomed to dating bi people, where this standard becomes ridiculously unrealistic. And it taught me people aren't inherently like this. Some may be, like yourself and I'm sure others, but I don't believe this is inherent to everyone. I care too much about my partner to do this, and if some kind of "chemistry" showed up, I'd just push away the friend. This is what I expect of my partner in return, and a partner who argues they wouldn't because of human nature.. is clear…

Its just such an odd level of distrust in your partner. I trust mine. She can have whatever friends she wants. She knows what its like to be cheated on, and I know her values and personality well enough to know she'd just tell me if it wasn't working, she wouldn't pussyfoot around it with this sort of disrespect. It seems so odd, if you don't trust your partner this much and you're not willing to give them a chance to prove it.. why are you even with them? No other option? Because clearly you're…

If you cheat, you're shitty. You can have nuance and reasoning, maybe even exceptions on technicalities like say you and your husband have split already but the divorce is not yet official. You start dating, is that cheating? That kinda thing. That's understandable if you count that. But its a good rule of thumb that if you cheat, you're a piece of shit. You betrayed everything you agreed to, you betrayed the person meant to be dearest to you and you to them. Its very fucked.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/22 03:45 PM

Why not though? If they do something, you find out and you can split and not give them the time of day. If they don't, they've got a good friend and you've got a partner who isn't shitty, at least in that way.

I think it differs from person to person, couple to couple and situation to situation. You may like that dynamic and desire it, and you may be grateful to have the choice to pick it rather than have it forced on you. I know personally I couldn't do the stay at home stuff. I enjoy the right kind of work and I like being able to split responsibilities with money. And I like the time away from home responsibilities so I can breathe a bit and have some change of pace.

Makes sense to me. Its certainly a weird red flag kinda question. It usually comes from the mouths of questionably traditionalist and controlling people too from what I've seen and heard from others. Or people who are unhealthily jealous.

See this is the way! If you can't be honest to get with someone there isn't a point to be with you. You and they would just both be unhappy.

I agree with another guy who commented here. Making some vast assumptions on men here. Lying for relationships seems weird anyways. I don't get it. The person ain't worth your time if you feel you need to not be yourself to be with them.

I think then this advice best applies to anyone who wants to have the responsibility of children some day. Its something worth teaching everyone. I think modern dynamics and traditionalist ones would both benefit from it. As well as how to compromise and how to communicate with your partner. I think specifically with examples in allocation of child care, responsibility and chores would really help with people being able to grow up and adapt those systems to work for more and more dynamics.

Nah we're only in our early and mid 20s respectively. I'm early, she's mid. We talked once about the possibility of adopting some day in maybe 8-10 years time, but its something we both have agreed on being fairly unimportant to us and something we can have a more indepth talk about in a few years once we're settled in with nicer educations, jobs, a good home and maybe even a business of our own or something depending on how money goes.

Sounds like we'd benefit from just normalizing teaching young people responsibilities of life, chores and couples. My girlfriend and I set that stuff up as needed, and just rework it or alter it as needed to make our lives easiest and happiest. We don't need to force a rigid system or push it as a "best in show" type of thing, just teach people the groundwork to come up with their own the healthily addresses these things in a way that is adaptable and works for all kinds of people and couples.

If you like.. being the dominant one, if we're talking the context of say for example the bedroom, you do realise you won't want someone even more dominant? You want to be in charge. You don't enjoy it when you aren't. You won't like someone who essentially wants the very same role. It just won't work unless you're both switches more than dominant. Same goes with the inverse with sub people.

I know everyone has their preferences for when and how they do that stuff. I don't see it as degrading because of that. I'm slow to sex with a new partner, its something that takes a lot of time and trust to build to, but I'd just consider oral like.. another position or option, honestly.

"degenerate" Oh this is a treat. Wonder what you'd think of two women perhaps marrying and raising a child together if just someone's choice of a last name is enough for you to consider them a degenerate. Lineage seems to be a big focus to you alongside tradition. Any particular reason as to the fact? What makes a traditional value better than the modern one, for example with the last names? Depends a lot on the reason I think. Especially given the state of the economy in some countries. Even have a full time position doesn't necessarily mean one even has the wealth still at that point to afford their own place. Some stay with parents for college, some maybe while they're picking themselves up, some just because its all that can be afforded but they help to make up for it. And some are fucking leeches, lol. This is not what love bombing refers to. Its a tactic of abuse used far into a relationship. When you get abused by a partner, say emotionally or physically and you start to slip away from them because of it, they will utilise this tactic to essentially shower you in love for an extended period of time, oven also involving gifts and a very special amount of attention and care. Then once some time has passed, they resume their abusive behaviour. It varies for how long, and also varies how this ta…

Well it depends on what they say. Entirely. You can usually suss it out the way. If someone is approaching based on an interest, they'll typically know a lot more and be a lot more interested in that being the major topic of discussion rather than anything else. As an example. Say someone notes I'm carrying around a Pathfinder book. They spot it, KNOW what it is, and get interested. They approach and ask me what my favourite class is, and I respond with it and ask back. Then again the only "approaches" I really ever delve into, with little exception, was those I'd been friends with for years or months at that point where attraction was established over a plurality of things over that time span and getting to know them a lot more personally. Obvious…

I mean hence why I said an authentic reference. "I like your shirt" is clearly half assed but if the gal (or guy, I guess) approached with an actual reference or some knowledge of the subject, clearly then there is a little more connection. I'd be a little more interested in what they have to say or what they want. If you aren't aiming for any real interest or connection like that, then you won't bother and you'll only land people looking for that same boat. Or people fooling themselves into thi…

I'm not really sure why they would approach if they didn't know me? I mean. If we're at an event and have a mutual hobby and they observe that and approach over that is an example. They know something about me as a person in that example. Not enough I'd say yes to ever, but its better than looks, that's for sure. Or maybe they recognise what my shirt or sweater has on it, like a game or something, and they approach with a reference they know. Also better. This is a really really good way to star…

I'm not sure really on a number or time table. Maybe on average once or twice a week? Sometimes more and sometimes less. Honestly whatever my partner and I decide sounds good or just happens to happen. Neither of us necessarily initiate out of nowhere. There is always a little lead. I'm 21, lesbian. I think there are a lot of other stressors still here depending on the person that haven't been mentioned though. Medical problems are the biggest example and perhaps one of the most stressful out th…

Better in general, honestly, if your aim is to build a lasting and long term connection. Men will appreciate it as much as women if you're bonding over more than just looks. Like you said, friends, friend of friends, events, stuff like that. Cultivate it a little.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/22 07:26 AM

If someone approaches me solely on looks, I'm gay so I'll assume another woman, I'd just politely turn them down. I'm not really into that sort of thing nor finding a connection at that level. I'd prefer something more personality or interest focused first.

Nerds, usually. Makes sense given I am one that I'd attract them. Not just for the mutual interest but usually because they likely met me over a hobby, which would most likely be nerdy.

It really just sounds like you're looking for a particular type of woman. These are all stereotypes for women, and they do most certainly exist. But I wonder why this is being pushed as a "women are complicated" thing. If you aren't making a generalized statement, which you said you aren't in the comments, then is this just trying to justify your personal perception or experience? I don't think I've dated another woman who was indirect since high school. Its pretty plentiful to find gals who are…

A relationship involves sex to the degree that the two parties or more involved agree upon its involvement. I think it can be devoid of sex, and that works for some people just fine. And I think the other extreme of fucking like rabbits 5 times a week is also acceptable if that's what the couple is happy with. So the answer is, well, relationships are defined by those involved within them.

I think its something important to note but not necessarily really something to factor into being the reason I'd ever reject anyone. These issues exist in a lot of fucking people at some level or another, I've experienced some, many others have too. Some of us manage to come out of it the opposites of what we experienced, looking for something better or knowing very strongly where our limits and needs are because they had never been satisfied prior. Some also grow out of it abusive themselves, u…

Lesbian, gonna also go with E. I'm just not the kind of person. I wouldn't do something sexual with someone I barely know even in private and if it was someone I cared about like that, like a girlfriend, still no. In fact I'd be pretty flabbergasted they asked. The people I date aren't the type to want to do that themselves anyways.

I don't see how it is privileged. Someone lied to you, used your body under false pretenses and then bailed out. Its different than ghosting but both are fucked. Neither is a privilege, neither is good and something you should be happy about.

I think the only times anyone ever actually says no is if they outright like.. never discussed it prior to the proposal. If she said not yet and he still did it regardless of her comment. What was it? Like 1/2 of women in the US experience some form of sexual harassment in their lifetime? Or was it 1/3. You see stories about it on here all the time as well. Or even sexual assault was as great as 1/6 I believe. Should we then be applying this to the "better to assume all men are crazy rapists and sexual deviants"? Its the same line of thought as to what you're applying. And neither makes sense to apply. To be cautious, to experience the trauma and have to live with it and deal wit…

Then why are you with them? If you try to talk and they don't reciprocate or they're hostile about it, why are you with them? This seems incredibly obvious to me. I'd be packing up my shit if months went by and they refused to talk to me about something that is clearly harming our relationship and I made it very clear it was and even warned them about leaving.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/22 07:54 PM

So it goes bad because they date someone toxic or shitty.. this happens to a fairly decent chunk of men so then all men immediately assume its universally a bad idea and doing it is a fool's errand? Sounds almost like the fairly decent chunk of women who assume all men are violent sex demons because they've had bad experiences and heard about others quite a bit. If someone is forcing you to bottle up, they're not a worthwhile partner.

Oh for sure. Communicate! I can never say that enough. Talk about thinks. Best way to be on the same page is to just talk and figure things out. See who wants what and understand how things might go with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/22 06:51 PM

I can see that. A lot of dudes on here think being open and communicating are like emotional and romantic banes and I really don't get it. I know very few gal pals that would even consider dating a guy who couldn't communicate. My girlfriend and I talk to each other constantly about everything, even little things in passing. And I love her so much more for it. I see a really rounded view and we can really take into account a lot about one another.

Your inexperience is showing. The attraction is there, my guy, its dead because of something. Figure out what the something is and fix it and you'll find that spark flying again. Maybe not enough foreplay? Maybe they're being pushed beyond their comfort zone somehow? Maybe they are being pushed to have sex more than they can handle? Maybe you are just not experimenting or using any of their kinks? Lots of possibilities. Communication can identify these issues and discuss what might fix it.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/22 12:24 PM

It can help spice things up. If you're communicating and open you can try new things or maybe see just what's wrong and why. Its super helpful to be open and communicate with your partner. Express everything. Your anxieties, your preferences at any given time, so on.

I think the context surrounding it would matter to me. I'm a slow person to use the word love. Sex to me, even as a teenager, was something that still required a lot of intimacy and a lot of trust. I was never something I could detach from love and just do it for the hell of it or because I just felt like experiencing it. A lot of the time it got based on intellect. If a woman revealed she could do very complex math, or could read, or had a little more natural intellect or practiced study. Especially if she was capable of scientific inquiry. People usually conflated that to witchery. Same went for women who typically refused the advances of men and / or rejected most of society and forged their own home or their own spot. That too was often "suspect". I think so, yeah. Its a really good place to have people open up and be social, make friends across gender boundaries, and it also adds in a little extra fire and competition to everyone involved to have more sporty people present and putting in the work. That is not at all universal nor the rule of thumb. Its a stereotype. Furthermore now you're discussing appearances, these terms refer to aesthetic appearances certain types of lesbians have. This does not at all determine personality nor refer to relationship dynamics. I've dated tomboyish types and been the top and we've been equals in our dynamic. The same can be said for my fem partners as well. I don't like a relationship if our dynamic isn't equal.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/22 07:46 PM

Top and bottom refers to sex. This doesn't account for switch, wherein one can assume either sexual role in the given moment. These aren't relationship roles, they're a type of sexual preference when it comes to being lead in bed or otherwise. Hence why this also is used by many straight couples as well. A man may have many traditionally masculine roles but perhaps he is a bottom in bed. You're equating two things that have nothing to do with each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/22 07:01 PM

So what is submission as per what a man calls it? How does that differ from my interpretation? Deferring to the man's judgement, having him provide, doing as he wishes, running the home and managing his chores and comforts while also managing the children and the rest of the home work. And why is this dichotomy of "the man's role and the woman's role" a necessity? Why must one choose one or the other?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/22 05:16 PM

I'm confused as to what you're advocating. So you want to separate based on gender in schools.. and do what with the two end results? What is your idea for the resulting schools and how they should differ?

Quite a bit. Although my parents were never married so they married other people. They didn't really hide their fights and arguing. It was a pretty good lesson in teaching me precisely what I don't want out of a relationship. Obviously I don't have kids now, but my partner and I very rarely even really get grumpy with each other. If we find an issue, we sit down and talk about it. Patience and understanding. As for if they still do it? No. They divorced.

I mean. It really does depend though, because the people using the word may have different meanings to it. Do you mean a preference for more stereotypically feminine things like dresses and makeup? Is it style being addressed? Is it stereotypically feminine personality traits? Which ones? Or are we talking about someone who is pushing it as being a doormat and a tradwife? Because.. I mean.. people use the word for all those things and for many variations amongst those things. Dudes do it, gals d…

We should. I think its horseshit we don't do more, for any persecuted group. Its the real American way. Each is equal and should be treated as such regardless of creed, race, sexuality, religion, so on. Judge on action, not on things uncontrollable.

Well.. LGBT people care. Because then they get punished for existing. For just being born how they are. And not like a frown. I mean being thrown into prisons, lynched, executed by the state, tortured in conversion therapy, etcetera.

Did you.. just say 1 in 6 of LGBT people in Gen Z are women? Lol. In the same argument you said women are the super majority. I'm assuming there is a typo here. Man though almost like being accepting of gay people means gay people are more likely to come out of the closet or address their queerness more openly. Men are still often treated far worse than women for being gay.. side effect to gay women being fetishized and not gay men. Also like how those are often the same people who push for men …

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life I don't even know what to say. Plenty of gay dudes out there. Plenty of bi dudes out there. Shit loads even. Why do you think HALF of the people at LGBT pride rallies are dudes? For funsies? Homie, they're queer.

Almost like its still common they have children, just at older ages than before since they can now wait until they're in a better place for the kids with birth control and abortions available.. Oh man, yeah love pushing all that LGBT stuff. Y'know. On all those third world allies of ours. Saudi Arabia? Love pushing LGBT stuff. I just.. am not really too much of a fan of a lot of the things they display and a lot of the things that immediately come to mind when I think about them. I'm not looking for the opposite in a lot of things, in a couple, sure, but not really in a lot. Guess I break the mold, lol. Somethings I like similar, some not at all, some so-so kinda. I dunno! My favourites are watching some of the ones with them going onto a debate with women who actually know how to retort and trying to pull the same shit where they talk over the woman the entire time or interrupt her or whatever and just seeing when you get the debates with the opposite and the woman just never lets him talk and constantly belittles him the way he does others. Gold. Absolutely gold. They get so mad they usually quit out like babies. Same when a dude clowns on them too, honestly.

The man thought he could turn a lesbian straight. Clearly he doesn't have all his marbles. Let alone also the fact he thinks women like being raped so.. he feels this is justified and natural and that clearly the woman wants this. Any other explanation is nonsensical to him. And if she won't listen, he'll make her listen. By force. So he basically chased her down to make that happen. And get the exact experience he wanted.

I don't think its necessarily just solely goals that fit under this umbrella. Its the full spectrum of communication. Its just important to be very open with your partner. Talk. Let me know what's going on. Your needs, their needs, goals, wants. People just need to clear about all this stuff. Talk about it with some meaning sometimes. Usually yes. Actually. If you can someone won't take no for an answer, playing along and disengaging in a way that they feel is favourable is a good means to control the situation before it can get worse. Think about it. If you tell someone no and they for whatever reason insist on refusing that answer or grow aggressive or hostile over it, you are trapped now in a situation you likely cannot solve without backup or a weapon. Second on the comment here that expressed the reasoning why this occurs. More often than not the reasoning women typically play along and then back out when they can is just the nature that being blunt with men, well, most women have experiences where being blunt with men doesn't actually stop them. My biggest is probably my introversion. It makes me come off as somewhat distant and for people who don't understand it, it often can stir up a lot of issues that I want a decent amount of space to myself, and the ability to keep some things to myself. Sometimes the latter part also means I can end up bottling and keeping in how I'm feeling about things, which can hurt people's feelings if they notice but I still won't share. Well yeah! And you should.. if you're not using as an insult. That's the crux of it. If you weren't, then someone just went gung-ho I dunno what to say. Weird shit. If it wasn't an insult then most queer people don't care. Hey see I even used it there. Usually the big way people spot if you're using it properly or if you're using it as an insult is if you use it as a noun or as an adjactive. Like saying someone is queer versus saying someone is 'a' queer.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/22 07:36 AM

Well then you trade off who tops and who bottoms, really. Its basically in flux on whatever the needs of the other needs. Some folks like it, some folks don't. I am a switch, its what I prefer. Oh I never said when a man leads. I can just understand the frustration of a bottom if your top doesn't even know what they're doing in the slightest. Guy or gal. And hey there are! Works pretty well for me. Nice and fruitful, we both get to do what we want, we both have some money and we can compromise on anything that overlaps in ways we don't both immediately get what we want. We can have discussions over any big choices and have an equal say in what to do. If you and your partner really mesh well, it'll never be a problem. Hmm.. I think the closest thing I can think of on this is I dated someone who was in band and jazz band while we were both in high school. She and I met through a mutual best friend of mine, we were friends for like.. a year or two probably before we started dating. I didn't have a ton of money so I didn't always have the opportunity to see her play. Only a handful of times. Always fun though. Ah rad sounding campaign! I'm pretty much almost always the forever DM, I don't get to be the player very often unless I seek out entirely new groups. I was running a campaign for some friends but it slowed after the pandemic and went into hiatus when some people just had to move on. Opened up a window for me to run a game for my girlfriend instead. We originally planned on 5e with some friends but when we couldn't find matching schedules it just went one on one with me and her. I've had.. 7 relationships in total. I have to count it out in my head every time, a couple of them literally only lasted like a month. Each attempt was for something long term, and only 3 of them ever involved anything sexual. The joys of being of long term kinda gal and needing a lot of patience in a relationship. Takes awhile for me to be comfortable getting to that stage.

I don't think you can say 5% of men are enacting the entirety of the 81% of women who get sexually harassed. That's a lot of work for that small of a group. Impossibly so. Clearly the issue must then be more widespread than that when it comes to lack of respect for women's boundaries.

If most women used apps you wouldn't have the issue of generally having far more men on them than women in any concentrated region. A ton of women do not use these apps. No reason to. They either aren't looking for hookups, found it pointless, find partners in real life just fine, etc. I've never used one. Most of my friends who are gals haven't either. They just aren't looking for what those apps have a reputation of providing. Which is a lot of cock and bull.

Lol first thing I scrolled past was calling social science data ass. Truth. Social sciences are plagued with a lot of biases. Anyways, take it from me, it does exist. Its a sexual minority. You took a research methods class. You understand the limits of your minor's field. None of this shows literally any expertise in terms of the diversity of sexuality and attraction. Where is your actual reasoning and evidence? This is still hot air at this point. Where is the disconnect happening?

That's not what I said in the slightest. I said you don't find anyone attractive until you identify a specific set of personality based features. Sexually and romantically it does nothing for ya. Well demisexual is meant to specifically describe a method by which one experiences attraction. Y'know how you can get sexually attracted to someone by their looks? A demisexual person can't. They never experience initial attraction based on looks. Never. It has to come from a specific kind of personality, a very specific set of traits and communicative chemistry. If that doesn't come first, you'll never get to romantic attraction. It'll never cross your mind. I don't know what autosexual even m…

Lust is not love, no. However, how much the two words relate depends a lot on the specifics on the definitions given to love and lust with each person you ask. Its defined differently by whoever you ask, the words get packed with meaning individualisticly. Personally, I think lust is more about sexual desire without romantic feelings involved. Its casual by nature. So one cannot lust after someone they are commitedly romantically involved with. However love doesn't necessarily require commitment…

Yeah sometimes my girlfriend and I feel like we're banging our heads against a wall dealing with homophobic crap. Most people in the LGBT do. Trans folks have it the worst. Doesn't explain my own relationships. I've never had this problem. My girlfriend and ex girlfriends never did this. So by your standard still. Even with couples I grew up under I only saw it in some and not others. I mean, clearly this isn't such a massive super majority.

I've seen other women do it before, not many, but a handful. I know the behaviour and I know how to spot it because I grew up under it. I had to look up what this means and I have seen shit testing before. A couple older women in my life I've noticed do it sometimes. But this is odd to just usher onto the majority of women. I've certainly not seen it in any of my friends, nor my cousins or anything. Not even my previous exes or my girlfriend. As a lesbian I can assure you not all women are "coming out in 2022". Dating pools are still pretty limited, LGBT folks still make up a pretty tiny minority group in comparison to the whole. Its not necessary that those two opposites are the only option out there. I'm a feminine woman, as if my girlfriend. I'm attracted to femininity much more. She often works the normal 40 hours paid and often another 20 a week in office time, student activities, grading and lesson planning. So now we also have to deal with taking care of 30+ children a class, roughly 4-8 classes you have to teach a day. Average 6. You can't even imagine 2 kids it sounds like, imagine 180, 30 a pi…

Damn. So now you're suggesting going to college, so now they'll have college full time student stress, likely still on top of working at least part time or gig based, and now be responsible for almost ever chore because.. their work didn't make as much? And how's that working out for you? So you stand by that if you got a partner making triple you and now expecting you to do all the housework?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/22 06:41 AM

Weird. And men add things women don't want and yet are often bullshitted into doing the majority of the housework including the man's things like clothes and food and cleaning perhaps some of their own goodies. Almost like in a partnership you still both have your own things and that doesn't really matter. Wow. Mind blown. That's funny. You know monetary value doesn't often equate the actually stress of the work, yeah? And you're both contributing. Say you're a teacher making 30k with 60 hour we…

I don't really care what kinda spank bank my partner has so long as she isn't like.. if its someone she knows, that's a little weird. That's something I wouldn't be very cool with. But on average I've got no reason to really care. Its not like it takes away from our relationship or anything.

Eyyyyy. Some joys here of being a lesbian who never wants a kid. My girlfriend and I thankfully don't ever really need to worry too much about having mad bank or anything, we just need enough to be comfortable. And honestly neither of us are big spenders, we're both pretty frugal because we both didn't have a lot of our own money very often before. So sharing money on stuff so long as we communicate about it doesn't really bother us. Still wouldn't bother me if I jumped up in pay a whole bunch e…

Oh I follow what I preach. Having a primary caretaker father growing up was definitely a pretty big influence on realising a lot of the hate men get for that sorta stuff, let alone how often people just assume shit about men, was just as much horseshit as assumptions made about women. I do agree though it sucks ass when people say they agree with something and then very clearly aren't self aware enough to acknowledge they're still having problems with it. You could also blame capitalism as well, seeing as removing capitalism would remove the stigma of the weight of one's pocketbook. You could also blame conservatism for the stigmas against fathers, stay at home dads and men being the primary caretakers. There is a lot more at play here than feminism. Its not so single minded. Its a byproduct of many aspects of our society not yet properly addressed. There is a reason leftist people tend to often be the ones that care the least about this sort of …

You know there is some really good points on stuff here. It really isn't fair that men get judged unfairly based on their economic situation or their lifestyle choices like if they decide to be a stay at home dad, for example. Feminism originally didn't really take this stuff into account because it was more pressed trying to equalize certain elements that at the time were really bad for women. That has ripples only now we are just starting to look into and address. I've heard people talk about …

If you look into the Encyclopedia of Victimology and Crime Prevention it goes a lot into the inaccuracy of data in most studies regarding same sex couples and domestic abuse, often because studies either do not specify whether or not it was with partners solely of the same sex nor often also included is that studies do not have a particularly large sample size. Asking only handfuls in non-random samplings from their own institutions. It is also cited there is inaccuracy as well due to how these …

If you look at how a lot of those statistics were taken, its really interesting, a ton of those statistics were about lesbians and all their former partners, most specified that the abusive partners were men they dated prior to realisation or during denial phases. This was often dropped after the studies were made public and circled by anti-LGBT groups in order to villify lesbians and to try and push a violent stereotype. Just a fun fact. Maybe? But ultimately you'll get the issue that whatever you generate will probably just become unappealing to a lot of women, while then attracting others. You're just switching out which women decide to use your app. It could work if every app had a different system. It seems unnecessary though. Why not just add options for both sides? Make tons of systems available at once and then let any user, man or woman, decide which they want to use. Then anyone who prefers whichever one can use that on…

I.. don't really understand entirely where you're running with this. Sex and intimacy are not necessarily the same thing. They're not necessities of one another by any means innately. They can be departed from one another, and to what degrees one is comfortable with differs from person to person. An asexual person may, for example, have no sexual desire but still desire intimacy from a partner. Romance. Love. Cuddling. Dates. That sorta thing. I think a big reason a lot of those apps don't tend to work is a lot of people don't actually use it for just friends. People will still try to be romantic, just more shady and on the sly with it. Kinda kills the faith you'd have in it. As for friendship across genders. Why not? My oldest and best friends are all dudes for the most part. Let alone the weird assumptions made about why people would be here. I don't use dating apps personally because it just couldn't really possibly give me what I need to start feeling attraction. I'd end up just wasting people's time wanting to make a lot of friends. But I mean.. if it was my only option to meet partners, I'd just skip right on over anyone without a bio. I'm there for long-term. And personality and interests are what matter most in that. Without that meshing, your long-term relationship is already destined to go down the pooper.

I think it should just be up to the woman really. I mean. It depends on what she likes and what her priorities are and what interests her. If she likes someone educated extremely in a field she might prefer a college student like herself at her own level. However her focus on romantic traits she likes may extend out in other ways. I think you're close to the money on why many women wouldn't date a man who does something like that if they knew. A lot of even "reputable" businesses still abuse the women who work there, like in Amsterdam, it is legal and "reputable" and yet forced instances of it occur, as does workplace abuse by what is essentially just a smarter and more subtle pimp. I think there is a pretty big aspect not considered really here, maybe overlooked by accident or not. This doesn't really account for how women are affected by the far more frequent amounts of unwanted attention they receive.
