I'm half your age, but my first thought was to offer arm wrestling over it haha! Slam his hand on the table. If he declines, you've also won. Though alternatively I don't really see why you are hanging out with a dick

Knock out little things first. Have something on your mind that needs to get done? Say maybe your trash can is a bit full? Take the trash out. Continue taking it out regularly. Take problems on the are on the back of your mind. For me, that is a good start. In college I struggled concentrating too and began trying to organize and clean up my life. Work at fixing problems as they come up. That may mean doing a homework assignment the night you get it. Make yourself REALLY focus in class. What I m…

Yeah let's use drugs to solve our problems. How alpha.

Ohh absolutely. I'd probably walk up to that guy and slap his ass super hard. Then laugh it off. But you have to have the skills to back it.

I like the sentiment, not sure about the consequences. Maybe the answer is to learn enough about fighting so that you have the ability to shit that shit down

It definitely means he wasn't super alpha. I don't mean to degrade anyone but if he has a house and financial security, he is definitely significantly higher value than a girl working as presumably a server or bartender. Yet, he had managed to act like a "son" as opposed to a man in control.

Religion was essentially psychology before psychology existed. The stories teach lessons that people need to understand. For example, Cane and Able. Able sacrifices and good things happen to him. Cane does not work as hard for his future and is less successful. Envy follows and he strikes down alpha Able. There is no punishment. It also teaches that siblings do not love each other unconditionally. All valuable lessons to early man. However... We can't forget that a lot of it is horse shit. Islam…

At the least you could look at it as practice socializing with women.

That is more on your parents. But, I've dealt with a slightly unhinged sister for awhile. Frankly, you've got to manipulate and carrot and stick. Make sure she knows that is unacceptable and punish her by withdrawing. When she is nice be incredibly nice.

Gone through similar but less extreme stuff. I told both of my parents, individually, that I refuse to listen to either of them say anything bad about the other because I can’t change who my parent is. Then, I enforced this to a T and ended conversations when it drifted to the other parent. Took me many years to do it and it finally brought peace to what should be a stable front in life

It can be hard! Start with just making yourself stay focused in class. If you notice yourself slipping out of focus, so thinking about other things etc, look your teacher straight in the eye and recommit yourself to listening. This is the best thing you can do. Next, use Quizlet to remember terms/dates/etc. Finally, if the class is a more quantitative class, do all of the homework and if you have trouble go to your teacher after school and work on problems with them.

Learn more, understand how to defeat the arguments with your logic... and then ignore them. Lesson I learned through college

He could also be trying to logically guarantee that she won't fuck him now that she has no job towards the bills. Total engineer logic, does not understand the emotions, only the logic

From my experience, trips where other men are invited and I am not has been bad news (barring mandatory work stuff). It is probably safe to say she understands that you should be invited, and it is probably safe to say that she asked you to come out of social pressure and was not seriously hoping you would.

this makes too much sense... No, I agree with this totally. The Pareto law applies to most all things, first and foremost. Second, speaking with the many and thinking with the few kind of relates to power talk and other principles on here such as plausible deniability. When I have had debates over men's right etc etc, it has been more to my benefit to disguise them within the context already said. Those who are really thinking will understand, those who are looking for agreement will not notice.…

Yeah that is true. My thing is I focus on important things and then do not get laid. I respect that focusing on girls constantly is dumb for sure, while at the same time it is unhealthy to not get laid. The goal is not to change who I am or what I like, but to channel that into getting laid.

That is the kind of thing I need to hear. I’ve read a healthy portion of the side bar. Any specific advice or reads to overcome this?

To appease myself and to know that I can do it. Personal pride and understanding Edit; it is exactly what I am trying to do and I do not really care what anyone on reddit thinks...

both. She doesn't rationally think that she needs you more than her, her mind tells her I love him or I don't based on how he projects himself and either shows that he can provide security and strength or not

Your arguments have yet to discredit anything that is in the sidebar of TRP. Either you can't wrap yourself around the arguments or you are denying them to make yourself feel more secure in your LTR. I have met men who are very alpha and strong. One in particular is very kind and very good to his wife. He still controls frame, and doesn't take shit from anyone. He has simply chosen to take a wife and raise a family. Though I doubt he has ever looked at this sub, he understands that he is the str…

Yeah this is definitely the synopsis of Discipline Equals Freedom by Jocko, which is a great book!

Try getting up and going into the gym before work or class. You will feel strong the rest of the day, and by exercising discipline early in the morning, you set yourself to remain in control for the rest of the day. The obvious benefit of gaining fitness pails in comparison to the benefits of becoming more disciplined. A man who is disciplined controls his frame more easily and achieves his goals more readily. Actionable enough?

There is no way to get that time back for you, but thank you for sharing to prevent others from having the same thing happen. Wisdom comes only from experience and reading, I'm happy to gain one from reading this time

excellent point, it all depends on delivery. I've found that generally when I can bust out some expert information about something and deliver it in a passionate way, women respond well. However, the key is to be short and concise about it as not to drone on

I am not a heavy user here, but I don't really see the problem in joking with people and being friendly. If that guy was purposely trying to assert himself over you, yeah okay, ignore... If he was being friendly, then I do not see being an asshole as the best solution

yeah that didn't sound too bad, but I think a fair modern substitute is simply to show up at a party with another woman.
