Absolute population is misleading. You need to look at the work force. Ie people between 18-60. Or maybe 15-65. Population reductions usually begins with get the elderly and the youth, as the elderly die out and less babies are born. One of the things developing countries face despite exploding populations is that they have fewer workers as a percentage. Population increase begins with reductions in child mortality and increase in life expectancy. More children survive. Retiree live decades beyo…

Have your stopped using electricity from the grid. Modern roads? Plastics? Artificial fibres. Do you have a gas connection for cooking or heating? Have you eaten non organic foods? You use anything with metal moving parts? Hell even the batteries in EV use quite a lot of fossils fuels derived substances as precursor chemicals.

That is not true. For most of history childcare was shared, yes very young children would remain with their mother, but as kids grew others, including the father, grandparents and older siblings would pitch in. My mother says (a woman who worked my entire childhood and was an Army wife) that her costs went down significantly when we moved toher home town. She could drop us off at our grandparent for hours, they were happy to have us and we could help them as well. These days with people living f…

And who is going to design, develop, operate and maintain the machines that run AI, who will program it and train it? We already have an issue in N America and Europe for operating and maintaining infrastructure because the people, who know how to do so are growing older, retiring and dying without being replaced.

No. Birthdates are crashing everywhere. Amongst large countries only Pakistan has a growth outlook and that’s almost entirely due to the provinces on the Afghan frontier.

…..and then pray to whomever you believe in that whoever takes over after the collapse has views which are palatable to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 02:15 PM

Then you need to see what other incentive they can use.

No. It will be conquered. And then it will have to follow the whims of its new masters.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 02:12 PM

Inertia. Center of global economy has shifted east. Basically First world countries are running on what was earned decades or even centuries ago. And isn’t being replaced.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 02:12 PM

Yup.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 12:28 PM

Consumers don't owe to society to use less fossil fuel, thereby greatly reducing their own standard of living, to avoid severe climate change a few decades hence. OP is looking at it wrong. The decision to have children or not is a personal choice. The question of falling birthrates is a societal one. Societal and personal choice are linked but distinct. You need to overhaul socio-economic policies, which have made having children expensive as fuck.

I don't usually notice who is next to me. The only time I have noticed a woman... or a man next to me is if they begin conversation, and thats usually because I know them, often from outside the gym. And even then its stifled small talk which rarely goes beyond a "how are you doing, family pk".. There was one event that I do remember. A woman suddenly asked me why I was ignoring her. I looked and realised she was the wife of a client of mine, I had met her several times. And it is memorable beca…

I read an even worse case report (which I think was one of the cases in the study). Woman had two kids with her husband. Both college age. She was a serial cheater. She got pregnant with the last lover. Who told her they would raise it together. And promptly bolted a few months later. She left (like moved to the other end of the country), cut off all contact. Raised him. Neglects to divorce. When the kid is a teen, husband dies. No will. Since the kid no3 was born to a married p woman, he is pre…

To be fair, many of the studies are just fine, they get used in ways that the makers hadn’t intended. Like the Non paternity event one, it’s been used by MRA types to show that “men are being tricked into rising someone else’s kids”. If yiu actually read it, the discovery was that even in cases where there was adultery and paternity was doubtful, the woman’s husband was often the father anyway. Like, even in many cases where the mother was sure it wasn’t him.

Lots of the statistics which are citied in the “gender wars” by either side are either, bunk, from withdrawn studies or totally misrepresent what the study was actually saying. Like the “women who get cancer diagnosis are more likely to be left by their husbands”. It’s from a withdrawn study. Or the divorce rate, (serial divorced people increase the number). Rape rates and false conviction rates (basically everyone picks the data that they want). Or custody determinations (in many of the cases t…

I said two things. One that the woman given as an example in the OP would likely leave. As she has little tethering her to the man she is with And that if she did have things tethering her to him her leaving is an outside chance. Please tell me where I said "most women would just abandone their families"

I mean you are right up to a point. But please note that there is a lot of sample bias. People who are happy or people who felt attracted but controlled themselves don't post there And thats before we consider a large proportion of the posts there are fiction.

There is nothing virtue signaling about it. The truth is women will leave for the new guy as presented in the hypothetical. There doesn't seem anything tethering her to her BF. No kids house etc. Hell outside money she still goes even if she has stuff tethering her.

In many developing countries, the worry over overpopulation has led Government family planning programs to be very widespread. and avaiability of contraceptives.
