Disagree, but you do need a physical attractiveness threshold. But it's just the foot in the door, once you have that presence and charm can do amazing things.

This is true but previously you realistically didn't have a way to view and evaluate the photos of every male in your city before picking. Your most realistic option to meet people was through your local club/bar or personal network, which dramatically influences the dating process.

If a person was legit into you and interested in a committed relationship, he wouldn't act like this. IMO he's playing the field, and you should, too. Also, you should take your question to r/relationships or dating_advice. This sub isn't really appropriate for committed relationship discussion.

Who gives a shit if they label you a creep if you aren't being creepy? Why are so many guys hamming up out of fear of false-creep accusations? Are you actually being creepy? Goddamn.

I have never once been thrown out of a party for any reason whatsoever. If you're being tossed out with regularity for being "creepy" maybe it's not them but it's you. Not saying you're a creep but maybe there is something you do unknowingly that gives off creep vibes.

Think about it this way: If you believe you're at an objective disadvantage for being Asian, then the bar is set low from the start, giving you more cred for breaking stereotypes and being cool.

Shut the fuck up about the friendzone, it's pathetic. She's just not attracted to you that way but still values the friendship. Why are you automatically assuming malicious intent? Have you never wanted friends for the sake of the friendship? Do you only make friends on the off chance you can fuck them? Are platonic friendships a completely foreign idea to you people who incessantly bitch and moan about the "friendzone"?

Yep, that's rape. There must be explicit consent for sex, and it's pretty damn clear that that wasn't what happened here. The trauma from rape comes from loss of control, powerlessness, and objectification; violence and "brutality" are ancillary at most.
/r/seduction20/01/12 11:11 PM

You have a misconception of what rape is. Rape is simply lack of consent. This girl was saying no, and the guy kept pressing on. The trauma comes from the realization of loss of control and reduction to a powerless sex object. The "brutality" or violence the may or may not accompany rape is secondary. And a girl might stop resisting because she's thinking "holy shit I might get hurt/killed if I don't put out," or out shock of what's happening with a person she trusted. A guy can usually just kno…

Hey Warlizard, thanks for the AMA, I'm really glad the PUA community didn't exist during your dating formative years because you've figured out life and people in what I think is the correct and ideal way, wheras the PUA community may have led you astray. This community gets results, but the PUA deconstructions many times conflate why things work the way they do for the wrong reasons (usually via gender-stereotyping, bullshit "biotruths," and otherwise misogynistic perspectives). Consequently, a…

Ignore that bullshit. Unfortunately both Reddit and Seddit have a fairly large misogynistic contingency, but there are those of us who recognize that slut-shaming is sexist and unacceptable. We welcome and appreciate you posting here.

The regular, typical expression of slut is used as a derogatory term for someone who engages in casual sex, in particular women. Please don't try to act like like words have no meaning, I would really like to see you try calling a black person the N-word and then give that rationale. If you're somehow disconnected from society and genuinely think you made an innocent comment then I suggest you look up slut-shaming and sexism, for your own good.

Don't give me that mealy-mouthed plausible deniability bullshit. Everyone here knows you freeze out on LMR in order to pressure her to go further then what she's decided she's comfortable with. E.g., she only wants to makeout.

Regarding approaching women with the expectation of failure, the technique itself is sound once you separate it from the bullshit. The forever alone type has a ton of baggage about social interaction in general and women in particular; usually a long buildup of negative interactions that have left them increasingly isolated and unfamiliar with social norms. An effective way to overcome it is practice and learning from the inevitable failures to communicate. I just wish there was a less destructi…

There's anxiety because sex is an intimate and vulnerable act, which is especially the case for women because they're, on average, physically weaker. If a woman turns out to be a crazy, a guy can just push them away but the same can't be said in the reverse. It has less to do with requiring an emotional connection or being slut-shamed and A LOT more to do with feeling comfortable and safe. Seddit, and the PUA community treats LMR like its purely about being slut-shamed and guiltlessly encourages…

Don't kid yourself, this community hardly respects women. There's a lot of decent material to be found in the chaff but one thing this community really does not do is respect women. For starters, the whole way PUAs conceptualize and handle "LMR" with manipulation and coercion is one big rapey anti-feminist mess.

You're putting sex on the pedestal. Sex is just a fun thing to do, if you fall in love immediately with every person you have sex with once it screams clinginess and is unattractive.

I flirt with girls constantly, but became a lot happier when I stopped trying to sleep with everyone and instead focused on having fun and developing connections with people. I'm not talking about wife-hunting, but simply existing among women and even flirting with them without constantly plotting to get them in bed. My attitude now is to flirt and be fun, and if something special happens between that person and I, great. But even if it doesn't, that's no failure. There's nothing wrong with havi…

Seddit has horrible PR and it doesn't help when you throw around terms like LTR with definitions that imply biotruth generalizations about women (just read the glossary of terms in the sidebar it's pretty damn endemic throughout). The overwhelming majority of the lingo used is dehumanizing in some way from "Field Reports" to "HB1-10s" as though women aren't human beings but only sex objects whose value is based on physical attractiveness. And you have to admit the way Seddit and the general PUA …

If you don't understand the purpose of Slutwalks or know what slut-shaming is you might want to rethink your "fair and quite egalitarian" self-assessment. It's like the fundamental reason why "game" exists the way it does.

Do you like and have casual sex? Then you're a slut! Or at least according to mainstream society's definition of it (and presumably this article because it reflects its ludicrously sexist attitudes). Of course, since you're a dude you aren't shamed for it so I guess we can just bask and enjoy that privilege.

It's shaming a girl for enjoying sex. It's a cornerstone of sexism which is obviously still present in our society if you think about how differently men are treated with regards to sex versus women. Basically traditionalist, reactionary nonsense. It's also the reason why men generally have to do the approaching, because a woman being forward would be judged a slut and consequently shamed.

9 out of 10 sluts suffer from a Cluster B Personality Disorder Yes, let's upvote this completely sex-negative article in a subreddit designed to help socially retarded guys get sex. Wait, what? These are the kinds of submissions that make this subreddit look bad. Interesting hidden thoughts? What, like watch out when trying to date assholes or people with legit mental disorders? No way! If there's no chemistry or attraction, you're a friend she doesn't want to fuck, which is fine and nothing to begrudge about. A makeover could change that sure, but that doesn't mean the friendzone doesn't exist.

The intent is what makes all the difference. The OP doesn't look at his interactions with women as a game nor does he otherize and objectify as much as the the locals here do (e.g., HB1-10s, etc.). It's hard to read Seddit material and not think that it's purely manipulative and underhanded, especially since there's seemingly an ulterior motive attached to everything (e.g., making platonic friendships with other women for social cred).
/r/seduction17/11/11 05:25 PM
1

The difference is that he doesn't see it this way. You're deconstructing everything he does and reorganizing it under a PUA lense, which automatically inserts unscrupulous and ulterior motivations. You look at it as a game and he's saying it shouldn't be.

Thank you for your post. Your perspective on women, relationships, and sex is exactly how I envision it should be among men. Unfortunately there is a lack of proper role models regarding this sphere of life and so the reason why communities like Seddit exist is because of that guidance vacuum. You're very fortunate to have turned out the way you did (I'm talking about everything else, not your "natural game" that most here will cite), considering that most men are inundated with sexism and objec…

Yes, well obviously when the genders are reversed it generally isn't acceptable. We still live within a sexist and sex negative society where the stakes of sex are higher for women and they are thus forced to act as gatekeepers of sex. Also contributing is the mechanical effect of men being the physically stronger sex, on the balance of control and safety in the escalating relationship. When you want to cuddle you're consenting to a higher level of intimacy; a man doing what you're doing in the …

Yeah, crawl in bed and softly waking him up works fine, and whisper to him if it's okay to cuddle, he'll love that. If he's impossible to wake you can still cuddle up against him. It's cute, nothing to feel creepy about. Of course, we're talking about a guy whose been pursuing you, yes? Or at least a guy with chemistry and mutual attraction.
/r/seduction09/11/11 09:40 AM

No, the act itself isn't creepy even if you haven't had sex yet. The part where you're hesitating and standing at the foot of the bed or doorway for 15 minutes at 1 AM... now that part might be a little creepy.

Uh, don't listen to the guys saying you're giving your man blue balls or that you're being a cocktease whatever the fuck. If you want to cuddle, then cuddle; go for it either by asking or by doing it. Just make sure to stop him if he tries to escalate and explain that you feel safe with him but just aren't ready yet. Cuddling is great for both parties, it gives you comfort and safety, and tells the guy that you feel comfortable with him. It doesn't have to always lead to sexy time, unlike what s…

Even if Nice Guys are clueless and unaware, their behavior and reasoning is still self-destructive, sick, and ineffective for accomplishing their relationship goals, especially when they don't mature out of it. The OP is still useful even in the case of teases who validate the Nice Guy's modus operandi. I think you need to re-read the OP. If you still don't get it, then can you elaborate on what you don't get? There's nothing wrong with being a genuinely nice guy. You just can't rely solely on being a nice guy to get you a chick, if you're basically devoid of anything sexually attractive to women (uninteresting, non-assertive, lacking confidence, etc.). If your strategy is to be nice to get sex, then that's actually fairly underhanded and not really nice at all. This is the motivation of Nice G…

There's nothing wrong with being a genuinely good guy for the sake of being good to your friends and others. It's only problematic when you do this thinking that this how you get a girl and then react in a very negative way to a girl's ultimate rejection, as if she's supposed to love you because you were always there for her.
/r/seduction24/10/11 07:47 PM

One thing I want to make clear is that "Nice Guys" aren't necessarily cold-hearted manipulators. The overwhelming majority of Nice Guys probably aren't even aware that their reasoning and what they're doing is flawed and disrespectful. It starts with men simply being intimidated by women. Many of these guys don't know how to effectively approach women and they aren't assertive or interesting, so they fall back on the fairy tale script that "as long as I'm an amazing and great friend who is alway…

Yes, point 1.5 and 2.4 just about cover that. Not that girls never get with assholes (e.g., stereotypical Jersey Shore Guido Douche-type), but even in that case it's because those guys are supercharged with confidence, automatically assume attraction, and possess an abundance mentality.

It's scummy to go to a gay bar specifically to sarge heterosexually. You're exploiting a community you don't have an interest in and invading a "safe" zone for women. It's fine if you're invited but otherwise don't be "that guy".

Bible study chicks are different ballgame, though it depends on how traditionalist/evangelical your or their branch of Christianity is. A lot of the people I grew up with were of the more hardcore Christian variety like Mormons or Southern Baptists. In Southern California, somehow. If they're genuinely devout then "nice guys" will actually do work. I know of a couple "nice guys" devoid of personality that are now marrying their church/bible study sweethearts.
