Bro, this way of meeting girls is so limiting cause there are only so many girls that are mutual friends, there is gonna come a time when you ran all your friend groups dry. What are you gonna do then, make another friend and repeat? Fuck that, I think you're just scared to approach cause you think it's unrealistic. Don't say this is the best way cause you don't know how to approach. Guys always wanna make excuses instead of growing a pear and fucking going in & approaching.

Bro, you need some self respect and forget about her. Stuff like this happens all the time on field, just learn to have fun with girls but never need them. Think about it as you like eating sushi, if a sushi store you like is closed find another one. Girls are the same.
