If it has become a pattern then tell her you don't want to be late. You made a commitment to be somewhere at a specific time and if she's not ready at the appointed time you are going to leave without her. There's a book called Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend (Christian authors) that I thought was good. http://www.amazon.com/Boundaries-When-Take-Control-Your/dp/0310247454

This is the definition of "You reap what you sow."

griffonlock beat me to it... but here's a longer response. Read the first part of "Way of the Superior Man" by David Deida Think of missions as layers. These missions aren't todo list stuff like clean the garage. They're more like 3 month to multiple year commitments. Find something that truly interests you (or benefits you greatly) right now and pursue it. When it becomes uninteresting, or a chore to continue working on, that mission has passed and you're ready for a new one. You keep peeling l…

Every aspect of my life except my interaction with women was RP. Completely on my own since 20. Good career, leader at work, home owner, financially successful, small group of high quality friends that respect me. Utter fucking failure with women. After yet another failed attempt at starting a LTR I found TRP through some depression hazed google searches. Sidebar, Dalrock, Badger were my main sources of knowledge to start with. Self improvement has been my mantra for 4 months now. Truly awake fo…

Classic one-itis. It sucks, it's hard to get over. Could you work things out with her? Maybe... And maybe she'd notice the change in you and love it. Or maybe she'll always remember how you showed weakness capped off with some major show of pathetic BP behavior. I know exactly how you feel... There are so many other women out there. There are younger, prettier, more intelligent, more feminine women out there. I just don't want to think she'll see me like that forever Fuck it, people think all so…

It hurts me to to see her like this There is your answer. Part of being a man is having integrity. You obviously care for her and have empathy. Stop being selfish and either cut her loose and have your fun or stop causing her pain.

It should probably be "AVOID THE chronically UNHAPPY AND UNLUCKY" If a friend/family member, etc falls on hard times offer the level of support they deserve.

In the end though I realize "I'm only doing these things to keep my mind off of her." You've identified the problem. You need to start doing things you actually want to do. They may include her, invite her along, but don't placate and choose something with her in mind. It's going to take time. The person that needs the other the least has the most power in a relationship. The best thing for you to do is even out the power. This may include losing her if she's not dedicated to you, overall that w…

I don't know why but your "What do?" really rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe because it's the sort of thing I'd expect to hear from an immature middle schooler... maybe that's what you are, I have no idea. She feels she has control over me, and I have some serious issues with that. You can't control the way other people think/feel. Part of TRP is recognizing this and freeing yourself from the fancies/whims of others. Who cares if she "thinks" she has control over you. The question you're asking is…

I dont know how to "live life". Do you feel like you knew how to live life before the depression? Maybe you think you did but you can't be sure anymore. If that makes sense I know how you feel. It's hard to remember whats normal. I couldn't walk for a period of time due to an injury then surgery... when it came to walking again everything felt so strange and un-natural. I've had the same experience coming out of depression. Nothing seems to bring "joy" anymore. I haven't played video games, hard…

As someone participating in online dating I'd say probably 80+% of ladies profiles have some sort of "I have a sarcastic sense of humor" line in them. Sarcasm uses ridicule of an idea/situation or irony. So basically just observing something and commenting on it. It's an interesting trend, not sure what to make of it though. (If it's even true)

If she was smart shed tell you to fuck off. There's no frame here, these weren't tests. She appears to have legitimate reasons for being upset. Put yourself in her shoes and ask how you'd feel.

You cannot control the thoughts and feelings of others. Simply continue to improve yourself. Conduct yourself and your business with integrity. Stand up for yourself and don't let anyone step on you. Lead a life worthy of respect and it will come.

Guy that wrote No More Mr Nice Guy had a good post on this: http://www.nomoremrniceguy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24714 This is why I suggest the line between confidence and arrogance is miles apart, not microscopic. The only way a confident man would become arrogant is if he completely became unconscious of self and others. That’s not a thin line. While we all lose consciousness in various ways many times a day, the confident man regains consciousness as often as he loses it.

It's similar to how CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) works. For Ex: http://www.psychologyliving.com/topics/mental-health/cognitive-behavioral-therapy-cbt/ ABCD model is it's application. You need to become more aware, more present. At first it takes a lot of mental energy because you're breaking your old auto-pilot. After a while it becomes more normal. With enough practice it will become your new auto-pilot. Swap auto-pilot for "frame" and it may make more sense. It sounds like maybe you're d…

I'm so far behind and messed up. Something's messed up with me. People will say therapy, but things in you can't be fixed by a stranger. Thats correct, you've got to fix them yourself. You may benefit from reading "No More Mr. Nice Guy". Embrace your masculinity, turn off your filter and be true to yourself. Somewhere once upon a time you had a personality. But you were beat down and had no support system. You did what you knew but that didn't help. So here you are... with the opportunity to fix…

Read some dalrock: http://dalrock.wordpress.com/ Biblical frame: http://dalrock.wordpress.com/2014/02/03/headship-game/ I found this post very interesting, even if I disagree w/ the "christians don't need game". More like Christians don't need "highly polished" game. http://dalrock.wordpress.com/2012/08/15/cyphers-problem/ Also if your LTR eventually reaches marriage level: http://dalrock.wordpress.com/2010/07/10/interviewing-a-prospective-wife-part-ii/ IMO TRP at it's core is about being the be…

As a teenager that grew into a man that witnessed first hand my parents relationship fall apart around 9-10 y/o I can say that what you're doing now is admirable. They ended up divorcing when I was 17. Give your daughter a strong base to start with. These first few formative years are so important. Hopefully by the time she is 11-13 your relationship has improved. However if it hasn't I'd recommend you consider leaving. Witnessing my parent's poisonous relationship didn't help me in the long run…

In front of him... no. Give her a timeline, if she doesn't make the choice within that timeline next her. I personally wouldn't consider a woman like that relationship material.

"Don't let perfect be the enemy of better" Don't let concern for perfect results stop you from improving. Every step you take towards being a better man is a step in the right direction.

I'm new here... but have been deep in thought and consuming TRP information like it was a scarce resource. There's nothing wrong with being "nice" or "bettering the world". Holding a door open for someone and looking for opportunities to lift up others (when they deserve it) does not make you weak. Letting people walk all over you, agreeing to things you'd rather not do without speaking up, or giving away all your power. Those are things to stay away from. I'm still dealing with some anger and d…

I've got a buddy that was maybe 135 soaking wet, probably around the same height. He was successful with the ladies in college. Start talking, flirting and risking rejection. If you work hard and do some research it will not take 2 years to put on 10 lbs of muscle. Much less time than that. I'm looking at about a year to hopefully drop another 50-75 lbs. I'll still be overweight but closer to where I need to be. I know exactly how you feel right now and it sucks. Patience is hard. Just keep your…

A lot of this rings true for me. I haven't been cheated on, but I also haven't had a relationship last long enough to get there. The sting of being considered "not king" or "not king enough", is difficult to get over. Part of swallowing the pill has been anger towards my parents. I never had any sex talk from either parent. Neither provided any guidance or advice for relationships with women. You'll be doing your son a great service by encouraging him to discover and accept reality. The other di…

Same thing here, look at post history for an idea. Anger is a great motivator. I lost 1lb/week without ever hitting the gym. A little over 50lbs since last year. Joined the gym recently after finding TRP. Onwards and upwards.

This provides some interesting insight. These men provided much needed stability for you and your siblings. And it seems as though you are grateful to have had them in your life. I'd like to think there's something noble in the sacrifice they unknowingly made. Maybe I'm deluding myself. This story speaks volumes to me as well. While my mom had her act together (sober and caring) by the time I came along my parents stayed in a loveless/affectionate-less marriage for 17 years. Seriously mindfucked…
