Fascinating! She also has a follow-up to this talk here.

Everyone has different sexual strategies. Girls do their own deceptive things too, they're not angels in all of this. I'm not sure why that's relevant, as I made no such claim. All humans are capable of behaving unethically, of course. That doesn't justify anything. But no, I don't think we should tell men to be dicks. We should be better at explaining exactly why being a dick works and let people do as they will. From a scientific standpoint, sure, we should understand and be able to explain wh…

Certainly. That's why I called it hyperbole. But my point stands - we shouldn't advocate obviously unethical tactics whether they work or not. Besides, they're not even necessary! Why tell people to be a dick when they don't have to be?
/r/seduction31/08/13 01:59 AM
-1

I'm not (although the Gunwitch thing is based on true events). I was pointing out, through the use of hyperbole, the absurdity of dismissing ethics in favor of what "works" - which is what /u/rwn_atc is doing. Ethics are important. The fact that a seduction tactic "works" is too low of a bar. And it's precisely that mentality (held by some of the seduction community) which is why PUAs get painted as skeezy potential rapists. Explicitly condoning or advocating bad behavior makes people wonder whe…

You're right, fuck ethics! All that matters is what works for getting laid, right? In fact, I've got this new seduction tactic - see, you carry around a gun, and if a girl doesn't want to fuck you then you just hold it against her head until she does! I got it from Gunwitch, it's called "Make the ho say 'No, don't kill me!'"

Being nice to get something out of it is manipulative ("Nice Guy" syndrome). Being compassionate because you're a compassionate person is not. For naturally compassionate, non-manipulative men it's depressing because it means we're supposed to actively suppress that part of ourselves during courtship.

Thank you. Fuck. I've certainly never seen a male poster get this much criticism as reward for trying to be helpful and contribute to the community. Are the misogyny levels in seddit rising or have I just not been paying attention?
/r/seduction13/01/13 04:41 AM

Seriously, Seddit's behavior today is shameful. Their complaints are SUPER reactionary. I could understand if she was one of the girls coming in saying "You guys suck because you just want to trick girls into sleeping with you", but in fact she's both sympathetic and is posting things that are mostly perfectly in line with what other sedditors have posted before. Sure, many of her points are repeats of other peoples' advice, but I don't see this level of complaint when male sedditors repeat each…

Here's the thing. We have two generations of men right now who are reinventing the concept of Masculinity. Whether it's a good thing or not, sexuality seems inextricably tied up with most men's conception of their identity - so if you're having problems sexually, that's an identity problem, and it's the first thing many guys try to fix. For many guys, all other problems just fade into the background in light of this one deficiency, so you can't blame them for trying to solve it first. However, y…

They can...but only if they're extremely introspective and good at teaching. It definitely requires a special kind of person for that, however. If this guy put in the time to break it down, my impression is that he could do it - and could probably make some good money instructing if he wanted. I'd be careful, though; in the process of deconstructing something you do naturally, it's possible to over-analyse it and make yourself worse (for a while).

Except apparently everyone misinterpreted his material. By "Make the ho say no" he meant "Make the ho say, 'No, don't shoot me!'"

True, but that's a bit beside the point - they were still engaging in cargo cult behavior, and the origin of the behavior had nothing to do with speed of boiling.

I really appreciate the conversion rates, but raw numbers would be interesting. How many texts/facebook messages/etc. did you send out, and how many girls showed up? Also, I have a feeling there are (fuzzy) tipping points and levels of "critical mass" here that change the dynamics (eg, bringing 5 girls is different than 15, which is different than 50). Any thoughts on that?

I think it's a bit strong to call his behavior AFC, but I do agree that there's a strong possibility she's treating him like an orbiter rather than a potential suitor. If a girl is friendly (even very friendly) but consistently flaky, it's likely she has other options that she's pursuing and has either friend-zoned you or pushed you onto the back-burner. A takeaway like you mention is really the only viable response I know of; pursue her and you become needy, get angry and you become reactive. I…

His real name, which he goes by now, is Owen Cook. Honestly he doesn't seem nearly as bad as Neil describes him in The Game, and I imagine Neil played it up because they didn't have a good relationship while he was writing it. His Blueprint Decoded DVDs are pretty popular, and I thought they were good. Worth looking into with an open mind.

More relevant excerpt, from just before that: The Power Gaze Imagine the person has a third eye in the centre of their forehead and look in a triangular area between the person's 'three' eyes. The impact this gaze has on the other person has to be experienced to be believed. Not only does it change the atmosphere to very serious, it can stop a bore dead in their tracks. By keeping your gaze directed at this area, you keep the screws firmly on them. Provided your gaze doesn't drop below the level…

While this is absolutely true, even though you've couched it in terms of safety, it's dangerous advice to give to guys who don't know how to pull it off. If they go overboard, it easily becomes creepy (if you're lucky) or sexual assault (if you're not). Unless you're naturally this way, it has to be calibrated - and even then, the naturals go overboard sometimes. I err on the side of caution and ramp up the caveman gradually from a safe level, and only as long as she's responding positively. Unt…

The correct response, if that prejudice comes up, is to deny its validity. It is incorrect to distance yourself from an entire culture because of the prejudice, because that reinforces and validates the prejudice. To reinforce and validate a prejudice, even implicitly, is essentially racism. Sample (racist) interaction: You look like you're Polish How dare you insinuate that I'm stupid! Do you see what happened? You assumed the prejudice and then validated it by buying into the frame. The person…

Being prideful of something out of your control, like where your mother happened to squeeze you out - or for that matter, where any of your ancestors were squeezed out - is stupid. There, I said it. Moreover, complaining about being mistaken for being from another culture with a negative "stigma" is also racist, as it implicitly acknowledges the validity of the stigma. If I say you're Mexican and you think, "Ew, he's accusing me of being dirty" or something, guess what? You're racist against Mex…

Hey, man, I blew it the other day too. Said something to a girl at Starbucks randomly, just for practice, but I opened her from the side and it wasn't until she was leaving that I realized how gorgeous she was. She was totally interested, too - I should have continued the interaction, but I wasn't actually prepared (I didn't feel "on") and I let her leave; I think she was actually disappointed. Thank you for those links, especially the first one; I need to pick up that book, it sounds fascinating. I found this part interesting in particular because of related discussions I've had in the past on the topic of womens' relationship with their own sexuality: They cite evidence indicating that a large fraction of women complaining of inability to achieve orgasm are in fact physiologically capable of doing so after "directed masturbation." One study apparently found that 100% of non-orgasmic …

One of the main purposes of qualification is to get them chasing you. If you get her to invest in you and your interaction, she'll start chasing. In fact, I might even say it's characteristic of alpha males that girls chase them - whereas beta males are the real chasers. At least, that's how it should appear from the outside.

In my experience asian smilies should be reserved for girls unless you're asian yourself. You might get away with them if you and the girl are both real henna gaijin, but otherwise I'd stay away.

We also tend to get more attractive as we age, whereas for women it's usually considered to be the opposite. So as you get older (to a point) you get more choices, whereas they start getting fewer.

I normally hate Roissy (he writes like a misogynistic asshole), but this is a pretty good analysis of the scene in Vicky Christina Barcelona that's been making the rounds of the PUAsphere. It's definitely a completely balls-out approach that won't work in every situation, but if you can pull it off...you are James-Bond-smooth, and I'll let you order your martinis however the fuck you want them. Vodka, Kina Lillet, whatever. For the rest of you, it's gin and vermouth - stirred.

Just a comment about seated "inaccessible" sets - you can always do the "PUA twirl". It might seem cheesy and maybe even cliche at this point (I think Mystery taught in on the VH1 show), but in my experience it's always gotten a laugh more than anything. Just ask a girl to stand up, take her by the hand, and spin her around - and while she's spinning, you move to the other side and take her seat. Mission accomplished - now she's the one standing there awkwardly, and you're merged into the set. T…

Personally, I think you should give him an approach invitation before you start fucking with his head and disqualifying yourself to him. It will get his attention, since if he's a PUA he's actively looking for things like that. Nothing too overt - maybe just hard eye contact and a wry smile. THEN, when after he opens you and tries to get you to qualify yourself, you give him sass. Think "Taming of the Shrew" - make it hard for him. That's not what is meant by "patriarchy" in a feminist analytical context. There are many forms of power other than the power to vote. Only 17% of Congress is female[1], only 25 Fortune 1000 companies have women CEOs or presidents, only 15.7% of corporate officers are women[2]... but of course, I could pull out demographics all day, and it still only reflects symptoms of patriarchy rather than its substance. Patriarchy is a system of social traditions, and as such women often reinforce it as wel…

Good article, but as is to be expected from Jezebel, the comments are painful to read. So much negativity, so little understanding, sympathy, or constructive input. Of course, I don't ever expect PUAs to be defended by many feminists other than myself and a handful of others, but I wish they could see past the bad parts of the community to the core problem it's addressing - the confused identity crisis that so many men in our generation are going through. It's almost cliche to say now, but we're…

Are you in private or public? If she's worried about roommates and friends because you're in public, that's perfectly reasonable; isolate her. Generally speaking, the way to deal with LMR is two steps forward, one step back. If she keeps doing it repeatedly, then I recommend a change of venue - eg, if you're on your couch, go to your bedroom, or vice versa - then try a different kind of escalation, like giving her a massage. This can sometimes change the tone enough to make her more comfortable.…

You're a typical geek, like me. We both overthink things and often end up not pulling the trigger. The problem with that is, this is a game where overthinking things in the moment will almost always lead to utter failure. You have to develop instincts, and that will only come through practice. Moreover, realize that you are allowed to make mistakes. There is no such thing as perfect game. You'll fuck up. I don't doubt that many of the MRA guys have been through shitty situations, but it becomes paranoia. Women experience many similar forms of systemic discrimination without becoming rabidly misandrist, so I can't really forgive the misogyny. Arguably and counterintuitively, in feminist theory, putting women on a pedestal is just another manifestation of misogyny. True equality and feminism mean recognizing women simply as the fellow human beings that they are, not as either goddesses or exploite…

Both subreddits have their problems, but I do find 2XC to be far less problematic than MensRights. The MRA guys are typically paranoid misogynists, which of course is completely antithetical to good pickup skills. 2XC, on the other hand, sometimes has some very interesting discussions from female perspectives, and it's not such a monoculture - I've seen a decent variety of opinions represented there, not just (or even primarily) the ones you list. You're doing okay, but one thing - it's not really irrelevant whether she thought it was a date or not. In fact, she probably thought it was a date at first, but then was confused when you were distant at the end of the date, when usually at least a hug would be expected in the casual dating frame.
