I know what you mean! I won't go into the multiple things I find disturbing about what seems like a deteriorating dating environment. I just wish these events I joined and the places I go to meet women were actually fun. The repetitive dinky hikes, the blaring clubs sat uncomfortably at a bar, etc. are a bane. And while my interest-club meetings are highly social & interesting the women aren't there. At least with the gym I can rationalize that as strengthening my back, etc. Otherwise, it's a lo…

What is with all these dudes drooling over the gross boobs on reddit (some, definitely not most) ? Women are so deceptive in hiding them, that I can't even chase C cups. Gotta play it safe. 🍒 At least the pics are easy on the roast beef. 😆

Men give most women access. Women don't give most men access. Most men don't have a choice. It's not equal.

Men don't have equal access to casual. That's a huge point made in the OP.

Much of the rage I think is the "personality can trump looks" lie and that women STILL get bonus points, while dudes get bashed for not chasing land whales.

My fetish isn't necessarily ethnic, but I crush/jones hard on most caramel cuties. Really hard to bust into Latinas with 99% of the ones educated beyond community college being obese. But the middle skin tones on a petite frame. I'm trying to prove myself with domestic women, but also save up and try to match with some dark caramel over the ocean when I get to old to avoid leatherbacks here. No wide/pan faced ones though.

Exactly! Women with 12+ bodies have a 10-year marriage survival rate of just 20%. Why would a dude who wants to stop looking and be confident in attempting a lifetime partnership invest in odds that terrible?

What happens as you cruise obliviously through your 30s is that pool of decent potential partners shrinks and shrinks. I'm in one of the largest US cities, and I attend as many larger Meetups as possible to chat 'em up. However, some of them are mostly early 20s, and those girls can occasionally be outright disrespectful when you are simply talking with them. There are a few good events, but if you have intelligence standards, that zaps most of the interested ladies. I'm not out to play holes or…

Not sure why LTRs in early adulthood must include marriage. Encouraging women (and men) to use their bodies on a transactional, freewheeling basis definitely cheapens intimacy. If getting her rocks off is the goal, toys have never been better. It's the degradation of intimacy, physically pairing with another person (who demonstrably is uninterested in investing in the woman) that makes something that could be a transformative accomplishment in someone's life into a means to an end (kids & goodby…

By my observation, you need one of to ways into a woman's sights before she'll consider personality: looks or already known through friends. Visual enticement or social obligation.

It seems people who are lucky enough to have an existing social circle or a workplace with people similar enough to create one don't understand the challenge to even sociable adults to build a circle. Pairings happen in social circles because women feel a social obligation to get to know someone their friends know. I get that. Most big clubs or Meetups do not foster social circles. Teams might, but not everyone is sporty. Honestly I've moved about eight times since grad school, gained a bunch of…

Ah, the perennial clubs-&-groups suggestion. I wish it worked. A sports team would probably work, because you see each other repeatedly & have defined interconnections. However, large clubs are impersonal even if you are well known among established members (TBF, my groups are mostly older folks.) & Meetup hikes are approached for transactional interaction & a sense of outdoor security. I am an extremely experienced hiker who has led several hikes, but offering hikes even to large Meetup audienc…

Thanks for the encouragement. Trying to venture into some more awkward social settings now that wiser about how people work. Yeah. Honestly I don't even get chasing younger than say 27 anymore. Haven't for a very long time. How basic do those college girl relationships have to be to happen? On your BMI point, there is definitely something to composition over simple weight ratio. Never figured out how to net an even naturally sub-26BMI lady outside of an existing social circle. "Slight sevens" are rare to begin with, but nearly impossible to snag in any other (less socially obligating) market setting. Always felt ridiculous reaching down in BMI. Keep in mind obesity is less our fault than most will admit: https://www.statnews.com/2021/09/13/how-a-fatally-tragically-flawed-paradigm-has-derailed-the-science-of-obesity/?utm_source=pocket-newtab I'm at 28 BMI on the road fro…

This is a bit of a personal crisis for me right now. The closest I ever get to mutual spark is with women in their late 20s. But I'm 38 going on 39. Dating experiences with 32+ wall women has been entirely incipient. For so reason, they become (or already were) very rigid in their lifestyle at 32-33. Red flags start piling up too. This corresponds with discernable aging change in appearance. Makes the situation quite dire when so many are obsessed age-gap appearances. I lost about 9 years from s…

In what settings did you meet this many 30ish women interested in LTR?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/21 01:32 PM

Nearing 39 myself and undoubtedly further behind you in experience. How much younger have you been successful in finding women willing to see you more than once? I wouldn't want anyone younger than maybe 26 because I require mental maturity, but I also like someone who is still impressionable and not yet rigid in her ways.

But obesity is solvable long term. I'm a bald hair beyond 10 weeks and I've lost 10% of my body weight on a GLP-1 agonist. If my current pace can carry forward, I'll be 24 BMI around New Year's. There are potential risks to glutide injections, but have you seen all the health risks from obesity? I'll be the first to argue obesity is a genetic disorder and nearly impossible to overcome long term with diet and exercise. However, now that this miracle is upon me, few obese friends I preach to seem …

I'm in multiple clubs, but in the Sun Belt, so they are 99.5% elderly. Board gaming/fantasy perma-adolescent & sports teams aren't my type. I've gone to art classes before... The women never actually drink the wine they bring & I end up losing track of the instructions and painting my own thing. I've lead and participated in hikes, but people with a thousand less hikes than me will never believe that the vast majority of women use group hikes sorely for security/confidence due to inexperience on…

38m, 0. Considered autistic until my mid-20s, completely desexualized my appearance due to 30-34 BMI & it's so engrained I can't stomach big tits or ass. Target of 24 BMI start of spring 2023. Struggle to find strong attraction outside of shorter, smidge-overweight-to-thin brunettes (caramel sweet spot). Minimum bar for intelligence too. Clearly this sub has some exceptions to the male OLD statistics. I do well in person because of my personality but I don't cold approach outside a certain retail section I'm extremely competent in. So that leaves Meetups (not frequent enough & mostly sausage) and scanning for interest in clubs. My online profile is great and demonstrates my well developed hobbies. Biggest reason I don't get matches is my own disinterest in sugar ladies and sub-5s. These are 98% of women here. Very little intelle…

This "selective progress" dichotomy meant I lost several of my prime dating years due to the Great Recession and post era. I like a disproportionate number of men were fraught by un/under-employment despite mostly weekly career-aid assistance & 6 years of high-tier college education. Totally agree OP. I got hifi ear plugs that work now, but clubs are still completely boring. The people watching isn't even interesting. Drug myself out to a club Meetup last night on my max dose of lorazepam, and had no warm approach opportunities. If I had a wingman it would be more tolerable, but I work with incels and married men, if telework ever stops. I'm just going from the assumption that each number represents 10% of the population. So with overweight/obese approaching if not exceeding 80% now... It means what I said, just with weight being the only factor. So taking into account just a few factors beyond weight while still only pursuing slightly overweight women, you're into the 8s. Unless you are thinking 8s are a tinier extreme portion of the female population.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/21 07:29 AM

The truest statement you've said here! Further, men are more likely to suffer from economic collapses, which simply takes them out of contention for most if not all women with standards for themselves and their partners.

A guy entering the workforce during the long recessionary period did not escape income scarring (meaning underemployment) until his early 30s on average. Too many people assume a guy can copulate with any hole with a pulse. What about guys who aren't programmable to settle low enough to screw before the nowadays required established career to get a partner of passable attractiveness? Some people are too clouded by virgin shaming to think of late in life virgins as people who have been fucked ove…

I hate to have to do this, but even a 7 is going to be significantly overweight nowadays. If weight isn't the only factor, then some eights and maybe nines are too. I personally don't pursue 9s or 10s at all. The risk of a sense of entitlement and constant temptation/attention of desirable men makes them not worth it. My ideal is the grounded, principled 8 unicorn. My personality is already there, and my body will soon be there too. How many lottery tickets must I purchase?

If a guy can get 2+ women who aren't plump (increasingly rare), then I could see the logic, but I definitely wouldn't have a primary partner, as I'd need enough distance to not care enough about the intimacy. The lifestyle is a little bizarre to me frankly, but it coincides with the decline of marriage and shared identity. The only poly people I know (other than Polly Pocket) are people I wouldn't pursue.

Companionship!?! Good lord. I'm useless because I'm male and, while I could have had companionship of I were female, I got to lose all those years of relationships because I didn't meet a standard carried forward from housewife times. Earning a decent income now, I would go for a LTR with an underemployed woman, as she doesn't have to meet a converted "provider" standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/21 06:24 AM
1

I wasn't an earner. The modern equivalent of provider is decent earner. Men aren't considered if they don't meet this antiquated standard. There is absolutely no modern translation of housewife. I am not upset they are not held to this standard. Never wanted a housewife. It's that the old standard still applies to me.

I lost several of my prime years, years in which I was in my physical prime and got the most attention, because I was un- and underemployed after the housing crash. I was reading a study yesterday. Millennials didn't overcome "financial scarring" from the Great Recession until their early thirties. Unless I was able to settle for the bottom tenth of women, all those years were lost for companionship. Women never had that issue. Of course I'm not a provider, but I'm not going to get an practicabl…

I never wanted anything but parity with women. I never looked at my grandma who had seven kids and said want me a maiden like that. Now I can't even get parity because women gained got out of their primary responsibility (some filling that time relishing sexual liberty/plenty for affirmation men can't get) but men still have theirs (bucks and brawn) if they want a companion.

I've been just the opposite. I've been hit on, sexually harassed, told I looked a lot better than I felt, but I was never proud of my body. I've always thought I needed to be better looking than the woman I would date. That's why I've been single, not self-aggrandizement.

Women don't have to throw a fit. They can open an app and get attention & their rocks off. Most women can easily find someone interested in the longer term. But they get distracted by the shiny trophy men, and take the bait. They can at least get some partner marginally better looking than themselves. Men don't have this luxury, yet men are loser neckbeards for complaining about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/21 05:19 AM

I've observed the very same thing. The only time women pair with fatter men is for money or they feel socially obligated to actually deign to get to know the guy, through matchmaking by family or friends. And then, they run with the "You see! My lady friend married for his personality!" In reality, it was the desire to conform to their social group's expectations, not her lack of shallowness.

Also, to be honest, my goal for pretty much ever has been serious LTR. However, after reading so many disconcerting discussions in this and the dating subs, it might be best to have a casual instance or two to give LTR evidence I am desired by other women and to not have to have the virgin conversation with someone who has to accept me long term. I will never convert casual to LTR though.

Unfortunately hearing loss is part of club attendance. My weighltloss plan is approved by both my psych & GP. My obesity has been crushing to my ego and mental health. Well written and intended. However, regardless of setting small goals as you suggest, there is a threshold for insanity. Climbing to the moon. Or, a 4/10 guy (90% due to middling obesity--no dieting is simple ignorance please) approaching non-thick 8/10s. Because it denies the same physical bonding, reward & affirmation to a man more respectible in his approach to her as a human? He's denied an integral part of a romantic relationship for what women say is a constructive/deliberative process, when many LTRs begin with first date sex. It's a demonstration that she sees less sexual value in a man who approaches her holistically as both a sex object and a complex human being.

Gut health is due to the assault of various pharmaceuticals & pesticides in our food and water. Starvation response in obese individuals is primarily caused by insulin & leptin resistance which trigger starvation signals to the brain. Just because you cannot see people literally starving doesn't mean their brains aren't missignaling that. Load of BS. Obese genes are programmed to thwart and reverse weight loss. Hence, the perennial yoyo dieting. Not to mention the collective destruction of our gut flora within just the past few decades. I speak from a lifetime of (active) experience, having now turned to hormone therapy for actually sustainable weight loss. So yes, it is JUST NOW easy, but the exercise+starvation route is still self-defeating & unsustainable long term.

Not overweight or obese in most cases carries you over to the top 20%, unless you consider yourself part of the ugliest 20% of ideal or underweight people. Not saying this is a direct carry over but there's an very high chance 27+ BMI (75%+ of adults today) also puts you into the lower 80% overall.

Obesity is supposed to have become sexually attractive now? We haven't experienced centuries of famine to engrain that into our society. Those are the cultures that value obesity. The lack of famine is I suppose technically the result of mostly male scientific advancements, so I guess you could be obliquely correct but only to that angle. Mediation of sexuality historically "by patriarchy" is not the chief reason for sexual values. And I can tell you with all certainty, women are worse anti-obes…

Totally subjective and undoubtedly shaped my your upper class upbringing. You realize that a significantly greater proportion of women are obese & severely obese versus men, right? If we're being subjective, cosmetics often detract from a woman's perceived authenticity and attractiveness. I certainly prefer little to no makeup or surgery.

I agree. I did 6 years of college because I just wasn't ready for adulthood & then I got out with no networking ability right before the Great Recession. Had a miserable series of 5 states' voc rehab employment programs. I was extremely depressed & what was suggested (but never guaranteed) was way beneath my lowest self-assessment or impossibly above. After 5 years of moving between 5 states "house sitting" my travel nurse mom, I really really settled taking on substitute teaching. Extremely str…

I struggled my entire life trying to thwart my obesity. I only succeeded through health crises--pneumonia & an extended psychiatric crisis. I struggled even as a exceptionally accomplished wilderness hiker. There is a significant minority who have snapped in some way to contravene their genes, but for most it is difficult beyond outside understanding to sustain significant weight loss. There is science to support this biological recalcitrance. Recently, I have begun a combination of amphetamine …

It's pretty gradual up to the 30-33 cliff. Then it becomes more challenging associating with her and not feeling old himself. It's sort of an optional midlife crisis many men can't stomach.

Their standards change because they hit the wall and eventually their arrogated high-SMV assessment deflates some.

At the same time she rides someone she doesn't want for a relationship... That's the issue which ladies here continue to miss.

HVM can do the same. Not most men. Stop conflating the two groups and using it to justify despicable behavior by a hugely greater proportion of millennial women.

Except when you have to engorge something to make the relationship even partly sexual. Maybe I should lower my standards, exhume screen legend Wilfred Brimley's oatmeal-mummified corpse & congress with that, sense, ya know, men are simple-brained dogs who can hump anything.

I'm a career fed who is roundly and routinely praised as hilarious, intelligent & helpful in huge office. I can't get a toe wet, much less swim. I await your kneejerk that it's a problem of my own making & not the "personality is #1" popular lie.

For me, the only deficiency in femininity is in physique with most women. I evolved from a caveman, I'm attracted to petite, girlish figures, and this nature makes me a monster who deserves the loneliness he's been dealt. It's my despicable fault I can't get it up for a matron or mare. I cannot respect a woman who is not intelligent & doesn't hold reasoned opinions. Me, a beggar of a male, stopped after the RARE second date with a lady who had formulated few opinions on anything than I had in hi…

These men cannot be average if you are excluding 80%, of the adult male population. Even before other variables are added, average is a significantly overweight to slightly obese guy. Obesity is a disease of genetic & environmental factors, which are dead set against defeating sustained weight loss. Your average is already a high value male.

It's women's filters for sexual attractiveness (especially in OLD) that wall men out of partnerships they'd be motivated to pursue. Just because they don't say it when they reject men does not mean it's not also their preoccupation with sex as well. Men are venting about it here. I'd go on a dozen dates before sex, but unless I knew the woman was clearly attracted to me and expressed it physically, it'd just be another friend, of whom I already have enough.

And women aren't just as unrealistic? Dating up when they make more than many, etc.? You can't say a man's views are unrealistic if he cannot fathom scraping from the bottom of the barrel. A woman who is desperate in the current era likely wouldn't have been desirable in centuries past.

Personally, I've been obese my entire life with the exception of early childhood & a crisis during my long post-recession under/unemployment when I stopped eating at all then eventually ate well below maintenance for maybe a year. I have always been ashamed of my body. I believe a lot of it has to do with growing up with a mother who was extremely vocal in her self-loathing. My younger sister had an eating disorder. I've been throwing myself into the most awkward Meetups, which still tend to be …
