Still I think we should call it something else or use another system. I have seen multiple Amber Alerts for simple custody disputes. After I checked out two of them and found out what they were I totally discounted the Alerts. I'm sorry, but unless the kid is in danger of some sort of abuse from the parent I consider it none of my buisness.

Reddit has fairly good protections against voting yourself up. They would need to have a unique proxy for each account as well as comment/vote on other stories in order to defeat the protections. I think it is more likely that they are simply upvoted by people who agree with them or people like me who upvote dissenting views to help foster discussion and to counteract people who downvote everyone they disagree with.

you don't have the rights to redefine words based on your view of the word. Who is twisting words? How can you not see the the sexism inherent in a term such as feminism? Maybe instead of sub classing feminists as gender or militant feminists and saying real feminists don't believe those things it would make more sense to call yourself something else seeing as how you don't want to be associated with the hatred "gender feminists" spew.

I think the "bitch cooking dinner and sucking dick" posts have been getting a lot fewer and further between. There has been some cross-posting and tiffs with /r/equality that I think has done a lot for the quality of discussion.

/r/ladybashing was a subreddit (not very active anymore) that would police reddit for content that was "lady bashing" (e.g. sandwich jokes). They would post the current comment score in the submission title and proceed to downvote it to hell. /r/TwoXChromosomes is it's own community and I bet most of the 100+ people who downvoted that comment are not a part of that community. At least in this case people did respond to her falsehoods, but I still am not happy that /r/MensRights is going the way …

I don't know about that last point. In the UK you can be put in the DNA database for life if you are arrested even if you are not charged. Allegedly this has lead to police rounding up youths and suspected gang members then summarily releasing them after adding them to the database. Legal challenges were struck down by the lower courts.

It is frustrating to have females treat you like a potential rapist just because you are male. If you said no or resisted his advances and he had sex with you that is rape. IMHO gendered bathrooms are a detrimental anachronism. For one thing neither gender nor sex are binary. They claimed that it would cause a disruption to the learning environment which overrides freedom of expression. Kids got away fine with wearing kilts because it was traditionally male clothing. One kid I know got in trouble for dressing in drag for Halloween. He got written up and had to go home and change. He didn't want to bother fighting it. In retrospect I wish I would have challenged it, but I was too afraid of the social consequences.

Our local school district has no crossdressing in their dress code. I always wondered a) how this was constitutional (but schools are often allowed to violate constitutional rights) and b) how could they say if clothes were male or female (it's not like there is a legal definition of woman's clothing)

As it is not all women get the vaccine so inoculating boys would be a good thing because it would protect those women w/o access to the vaccine. Also while HPV does not cause cancer in men like it does women I think that if most men had the option to get a simple shot to prevent genital warts they would take it.
