I’m a 40 year old man and I’ve voted left in every election, and you are correct, the left has lost me. I’ve come to understand that the right and left are both racist/sexist. The left is just racist/sexist against me and my children. It’s in my best interest to vote right. I hope the left figures it out soon. I’m also in Michigan and appreciate that Whitmer sees the issue. I don’t know how she is going to thread the needle, appealing to (white) men while not alienating the rest of the left.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 02:22 PM

You’re factually incorrect when saying “white men have always had the right to vote”. Look up the men’s suffrage movement. Men’s suffrage is swept under the rug by the feminists because it doesn’t fit their narrative about how “men” being the oppressors.

I’ve tried to call out gender discrimination issues locally and it hasn’t gone well. Beyond my personal experience, there are some larger public examples, Richard Reeves lists a few in the beginning of his book on men’s issues. The whole first chapter talks about, and gives examples of the backlash that comes from talking about men’s issues.

Your point of view is why conservatism is growing in popularity among old and young men alike. For me it has nothing to do with dating. I'm against discrimination based on sex, color, orientation, etc. What I'm finding is that the left finds it okay to discriminate against me, my father, and my young boys based on gender and skin color. I've NEVER voted for a republican president before, but I'm considering it in 2028 because, if I have to choose between two parties that BOTH discriminate based …

I agree! However, the problem is that, as things are, society doesn't allow men to create blatantly male-focused groups. Consider the language used by STEM-focused Million Women Mentors. Paraphrasing: "We connect local communities and girl-serving institutions to state leaders, and corporations." "Mentoring is one of the most effective levers to propel and support women and girls on STEM pathways." "Individuals with mentors have improved academic, social, and economic prospects. For women in STE…

As a Michigander, I'm proud of Whitmer for taking steps! However, it's nothing much at this point. If I google "concerted effort to get women in stem" (male-dominated profession) there is a list of organizations in the AI Overview: - Girls Who Code: Offers after-school clubs, summer immersion programs, and college and career support to close the gender gap in technology. - National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP): Connects organizations across the country that are committed to informing and e…

Politicians gonna politician. It’s a thin needle to thread when it comes gender issues. I don’t really put much credence into what it was like for women or men 100 years ago. Today and tomorrow is what matters.

Yeah well said! You really explained well what I’m personally feeling lately. Being pushed to the right (by the left) since the election due to the fact that I’m a white man and therefore viewed as a root part of the problem. Gretchen Whitmer from Michigan has been picking up on the issue and calling out to male voters. If the left doesn’t start courting men, I’ll probably be voting Republican in the next election for the first time in my life.

No, the conservatives acknowledge the problem and their solution is to turn back time. Obviously not a viable solution. But the acknowledgment of the problem is better than the liberal disregard.

I would say circumcision is a cosmetic surgery performed on boys sexual parts without consent. To call it mutilation is a bit of a stretch. It’s performed by medical professionals in a medical setting and the overall intent is not to harm, though the procedure is barbaric.

For one, I don’t think it’s a competition. Secondly, I’d say’s men’s rights is gaining traction looking at what Richard Reeves is doing. Third, I think failure to recognize men’s issues is why we had the election outcome we just had in November. If democrats would stop ostracizing and alienating men, I think many of them would vote democrat. The issue there is like your comment. The democrats say “your male problems are minor” forcing men towards republicans who say they will fix male problems b…

Thanks for the agreement! However, I wanted to point out that your response irks me a little. It happens with women when discussing these topics. They go into “who has it worse” comparison mode which is kinda what you were doing there. That’s not the point. It’s not a competition. Men’s suffering does not take away from women’s suffering and vice versa. Much of this sub Reddit it’s just about the acknowledgment of men’s issues and supporting each other in facing them. To men, men’s rights is not…

Most incarcerated are men. All you hear about racial injustice in the court system, the gender discrimination against men is statistically worse. Majority of workplace deaths are men Majority of homicides are men Majority of suicides are men War deaths, obviously men Majority of college degrees are awarded to women. Actually in 1972 the male to female graduation gap when title 9 was passed was 13%. Today, the graduation rate is 15% in favor of women. So the disparity against women back then resu…

Generally I agree. Consider, men don’t have a voice in abortion. Obviously, your body, your choice. Sure. But as the father, do I get any say? Right now I think the abortion conversation is about a reasonable term limit and access to abortion care. However, in the long run I’d like to see a discussion about the father’s rights in making that decision. Along the same lines of family, most state divorce laws are on their way to becoming “gender nuetral” but in many courts guardianship default to t…

Yeah. This. Trump was caught lying and cheating to stay in power last time. Trump called for the cancellation of the constitution. There is disbelief on the left and I think it’s understandable. Our nation’s leader, a role model for our children thinks it’s okay to “grab women by the pussy, you can do anything you want”. I think people who are confused about their gender are abnormal. Sure. I don’t think we should let men compete in women’s sports. But I don’t think that means we should elect a …

I think this is spot on. If the dems would recognize men’s rights issues, republicans would have no chance. I think there is a growing movement of “woke” conservative men who believe in science, smart policy, etc and they are looking for a political home. I would vote Republican but today the party stands for way too many crazy ideas. Example: Covid isn’t real. Climate change isn’t real. Gun laws don’t need to change. My favorite counter argument is Titanic: “women and children first” 80% of the deaths on the Titanic were men. There are numerous examples like this throughout history where men died so women could live. More current example, just look at workplace deaths, throughout our history, and currently, men make up the far majority. Society opposes both men and women. Just in different ways.

I’m a father with two boys, 8 & 11. We circumcised one, not the other. I’ve thought a lot about this and did a lot of research on the topic. Bottom line, your son can always choose to circumcise later in life if he wants to. He CANNOT choose to “un-circumcise”. So just leave the choice up to your son. No one is going to shame your son about his penis. His friends won’t see it, kids don’t talk about their penises at school and adult women don’t care about circumcised vs. not. So, trust me, just l…

Not to sound condescending, but you are far too young to even comprehend how long life is, and too young to be making decisions that could impact the course of your life. If you had any comprehension of how life altering a child will be for you, you wouldn’t even be questioning staying with her. I also want to point out, you say she isn’t abusive but then you say she gets mildly upset with you for not wanting to have sex in a way that could result in pregnancy. That is, at least, mildly sexually…

I don’t fault women for being cautious. But what statistic are you referring to? According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, males experienced higher victimization rates than females for all types of violent crime except rape or other sexual assault. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_differences_in_crime#:~:text=According%20to%20the%20Bureau%20of,rape%20or%20other%20sexual%20assault.

It’s hard facts like this that pretty quickly shut down the “men are oppressors” argument. Another favorite of mine is to point out the male to female fatality rate on the titanic. Everyone knows the phrase “women and children first” and the result is that 80% of the deaths were male. The reality here is that this is not a competition, and getting to this point in modern society has been messy. Both sexes have been oppressed and the way forward is acceptance and forgiveness.

Dude. There are real issues facing men, but the stats you’ve cited are most likely false or irrelevant. You’re discussing how an entire group of people “feels” about another entire group of people. This is entirely subjective and stereotypical. Perhaps based on partial truths. But certainly not provable facts. Here are some real red pill facts for you: The majority of workplace deaths (like 90%) are men. Vast majority of suicides (like 90%) are men. Pretty much all military deaths are men. This …

I think this is a really great question. We often hear about “toxic masculinity” but rarely hear examples of what positive masculinity is. I think a lot of men today are lost and searching for their role in modern society.

It’s a taboo subject most people don’t like to talk about here in the States. The common thought is that it prevents infection (UTI), disease (HIV), and cancer (penile cancer). All of which is technically true…but the benefits don’t outweigh the harm. I think rather than admitting we’ve been genitally cutting on boys for decades…we’d rather just find any drop of evidence to support our action and then carry on. It’s sick, but it’s also an extremely interesting example of group think.

I think it’s just nice you are here and see the issues. You’re making a stereotypical argument based on averages. I bet it would be just as true to say “people (men and women) are physically weak compared to infantry soldiers (men and women). There might be some science proving men can gain muscle faster. But who cares. I recently heard reliables sources claim there are now more women fighter pilots than there are male pre-school teachers. The notion that women can’t fight is sexism.

I generally agree with you about the laws, but to argue that the courts don’t discriminate in the application of those laws is ignorant. That’s why we have more black men in prison than white men. And more mothers with custody instead of fathers. I haven’t fact checked my claims on custody but I bet a real quick google search will prove me correct.
