Although Jake's comment is obviously already getting downvoted, I think it's important to note that you shouldn't fall into the stereotypes the fear-mongering minority wants you to. By allowing this sort of behaviour to become the norm, you're accepting the fact that you can't beat the system by changing the ideology. Men have to deal with the issues of sexism by countering it in ways that change the game -- so I'm going to side with Jake just this once, without upvoting him, because fathers sho…

Read the profile. Definitely a troll.

Possibly an abusive troll account.

Jesus Christ I don't care. I enjoy sex and masturbation and that's enough for me. Thanks for missing my point.

I'm assuming you're American, then? Serious question, not trying to be an ass.

Now that I think about it, I stand corrected: All of my lesbian/bisexual female friends talk about girls constantly. Does that count?

Honestly, I can't even apply this to real life once I hit number 3.

I think his point is that any guy who has a crotch waved in his direction from 10 feet away is going to either ignore it, tell the person off or laugh. On the other hand, this user is painting the female as a "victim," which the OP disagrees with. The OP never laid blame on anyone, certainly not the so-called "victim," and the only retort the user can muster is "You're disgusting." It's an ad hominem attack in response to something that would otherwise further the discussion. That's all.

Really? This is the sort of language I encounter every time I head over and see anyone not spouting blatant radical feminist rhetoric and condemning men for being sick, vile creatures.

Like I said, not agreeing with the position the OP took. Just pointing out somewhat funny correlations. Especially ones that stem from blatant logical fallacies.

Yes, but I'm sure most of the male voters did not vote based on that stunning picture of Harding in his boxers during his stay in Hawaii. Wait.

I don't agree with this thread, but I do have to mention that Warren Harding, the first president to be voted upon by both women and men, was notorious for being one of the most ridiculous, scandalous, corrupt bastards the Oval Office had ever seen, and he primarily won the female voters over with charm, not policy. Just saying.

Not really, I think the reaction would be much the same, except now the female's perception of the movie star would be changed significantly as well. Cue Reddit Title: "I met George Clooney in person, and he's a fucking creep."

You seem to have mistyped that word twice now, so let me help. It's "women." I know how close the Y key is to the E key, so I don't blame you, but I thought I'd point it out for your sake.

Thank you, aether, this is a much-better-articulated version of what I'm trying to say. The fact that men's roles are even brought up in the article is a big step from how things were 10-15 years ago. But the article is still following the rhetoric of the articles posted 10-15 years ago and thus is impeding its own progress. Aside from that, the same five or six comments about false equivalence can be brought up over and over, but quite frankly I think this subreddit knows them enough to not bot…

I'm by no means saying that what she's saying or how she's saying it is right. I only meant to point out that, if you strip away the superiority complex at hand, the underlying message remains the same. Men are struggling to find their new roles in society. I think most of us in /r/mensrights can agree with that. That being said, yes, the article itself is as condescending as the average feminist literature tends to be. You don't hear men writing articles about feminism saying, "Bless her soul, …

I think her heart's in the right place on this one. She's at least acknowledging that men have a difficult time fitting into the modern feminist landscape. So she's aware of the problem. Without simply rehashing everyone else's opinions in this thread, however, she does seem to be stuck in the modern feminist mindset that men are about as thick as a short plank. That's where the condescension comes in, and truthfully, she probably doesn't even notice because she's in the mindset that her backhan…

Wow, and I read Dr_Laura's comment as sarcasm. It made much more sense that way.

I've watched a few episodes of this show and I can say with confidence that this girl was just as crazy every episode. The boyfriend worked extremely long workweeks to put food on the table for her and her child and she bitched at him for not being around enough. He bought her items to help with the child and she bitched at him for them not being quality enough. He chose to be there every step of the way for her and that child, especially when she was flipping a shit and acting irrational, and h…
