You know how rich people don't need to tell you they're rich? And successful people don't need to tell you they're successful? The moment someone on this sub uses the word Alpha I immediately don't believe a word they say. You know what that "Alpha male bull moose" ALSO doesn't do? Worry and talk about being fucking alpha all the time.

I don't mean to be a dick here man but I think you literally just kind of rephrased the general wisdom around here and convinced yourself it's super profound because you smoked a lot of weed or something.

sometimes, and that's the point. ever read about outcome-independence on here? it's that. that cute girl you want to talk to might "scratch" you. try anyway. you might get some belly rubs

It's pretty much "stop and smell the roses even if theres a chance the rose will scratch the shit of you"

yo, it is absolutely impossible to love someone after two months. she may be making the classic mistake of mistaking infatuation with love, or you may have a nutter butter on your hands. either way I'd keep it chill and don't reciprocate those words for a while

just gonna give my two cents here, I may be wrong. to me, it seems like for a relationship, you're already starting from a place of dishonesty. if you are doing things with a purpose, to get or maintain an expected outcome, you're not being genuine, you're being manipulative. not a good way to treat a person you say you truly care about. so my advice is to start being honest. want to be with her? say it. want to tell her something during the day? text her. i mean seriously, do you honestly want …

So, I find (and so does psychology in general) that people very often end up being kind of the opposite sexually as they are in other parts of life i.e. powerful men and women like to be submissive, shy and reserved people want to dominate. germaphobes want to be peed on etc. So I'm curious, is your husband normally a jealous dude? yeah, he gets off on you fucking (or the idea of fucking) other guys, but how does he feel if you're having a conversation with one in front of him and you laugh? I'm…

Right on man. Let me ask you this: like the moment you were done, did you have that thought like "wow, that REALLY wasn't that big a deal. I feel exactly the same." Because literally everyone I've talked to felt that. It's really weird how it's suuuuuch a big deal until the moment it isn't.

For the love of God, DO NOT get a dog for any other reason than you really really want a dog. If anything, I've had less success with women because of situations like, "no I can't go to your place because I can't leave my dog" or "no I can't go this weekend because of my dog" etc. Also, dog parks and dog people are super fucking annoying. "You have a dog!? Oh my God I have a dog too! Wow! Does your dog ever bark! Wow mine also!"

it's especially frustrating to me because I've been there. Learned how to get out of it and fucking worked at it and now I'm soooo much better than I used to be. My ex actually said she was attracted to how positive I am, which kinda blew my mind. You can't force people though. I've told him if he actually wants my help and advice than I'm there for him, but if he just wants to bitch and moan and drink he can keep it to himself.

yeah my dad and one of my best friends are like that. dad will literally find reasons to be angry (like he's super pissed about SF not having enough parking and he lives in Nevada), and my friend frames fucking everything in the most negative way possible, is obviously depressed, and is on the road to becoming a full-blown alcoholic. one thing therapy taught me though, is that it's not my job to "save" people and to let it go

Therapy is the shit and I fully believe literally everyone should go for a while. You learn so much. It's so nice to vent to someone who is professionally neutral. The more sure you are you wont get anything out of therapy, the more you need it. The people most afraid of therapy are the ones who are afraid of what they might learn while they're there. And if you think you have nothing to learn, well you're wrong, and an idiot

also, if you ever find out you have something and aren't quite sure when it happened (shit can lay dormant for a loooong time), there are websites that will text people anonymously that they should get checked too. use them, it's the right thing to do

Get rid of your posters and get some fucking art. If you MUST have a poster put it in a frame

I would also add that self-deprecating should be rare and lighthearted. NEVER "I'm so depressed," "no one will love me," "all i do is jerk off" etc.

I️ don’t think style matters so much (as long as you don’t go out head to toe in khaki or something), what really matters is that it’s clean and fits well. Short version: probably smaller than you think

I’m an average looking not tall guy who dropped out school so many times I lost count and lost my v at THIRTY. I know you’ve heard it s thousand times and you don’t believe it, but take it from me: sex is not that big a deal. Know how different I feel now that I’ve been getting laid? Zero percent. Life is exactly the same except I have sex now. Stop dwelling on it so much and focus on yourself Stick with it for now, become that doctor. You still have SO much time to travel and have fun. All the …

yes it would my man. I've always liked, but not super loved dogs, but unfortunately I bought into the "OMG it will CHANGE YOUR LIFE man. Who rescued who? Amirite?" shit you here always hear and it was absolutely untrue for me. Life is exactly the same but now I have a dog to take care of.

I like everything you said except “get s dog.” Having a dog is fuckton of work unless you want a shitty little monster. All this talk about new hobbies and an active life? Too bad, now your dog is your hobby. Know many times I’ve been on a great date or been invited on a weekend trip and had to say, “sorry, gotta be home for my dog”? Too many. It sucks. The worst part is, I don’t even like having a dog. I LOVE my dog, but wish I never got her. I can never just give her away, I’m stuck for like 1…

"Interpersonal", most therapists have a specialty but it's all kind of the same. I honestly think every single person alive could benefit from it. If nothing else, it's great to be able to dump all your shit on someone professionally neutral.

I don't know if it's just me or what, but I've been meditating using the Headspace app for 45 days now, and I feel absolutely no benefit at all. Don't take my anecdote as an excuse to not try it if you think it will help you, as millions of people swear by meditation and there's even science to back it up. But for me, personally, it hasn't really done shit. For my two cents, therapy has been the number one thing that has helped me with anything regarding self-esteem, confidence, really anything …

My doctor said I had been exposed to herpes but can't tell me if I have it until I have a breakout, which I've never had, and if I did I wouldn't need the test. WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN DOC

you could very well be right, and I like your point about the right kind of scent too. i think it's just the male equivalent of a womans hair smelling good, ya know? something you notice when you're already in, but leaves a lasting impression. icing on the cake, if you will

so to me, this whole sub/industry is truthfully just about building up confidence. you don't sound very confident in yourself. that's fine, im not very confident either but i've had two tinder dates this week which is better than I've ever really done, and I'm 29. you gotta pull back and focus on yourself, the women will come slowly but surely. I like boxing, hip-hop, snowboarding, and gaming. My identity is built around me representing and being proud of the things I enjoy. So I pursue those th…

Oh bullshit. Go to a yoga class and tell me it's 10 to 1 men to women. You sound to me like you think the world owes you a Jayden James with a perfect personality. The world doesn't owe you shit. Just listen to yourself. You come in here asking for help, and then line-by-like tell every egg THEY'RE wrong. Ever think for a second that maybe, just maybe, you're wrong? Because you are. You sound bitter and I guarantee your standards are too high. Stop acting like you are owed a perfect ten and star…

not yellowshorts, but my brother has a really funny story like this. on his first date with his now-fiance, he was walking back to the car with her when THAT feeling hit. after several failed attempts to shake her so he could sneak a shit (forgot my wallet inside, need to go inside gas station etc.) he ended up speeding home, sweating, red-faced, and in silence, obviously super stressed out. she thought he was having a horrible time and didn't think there would be a second date. they were togeth…

Seriously now, would you REALLY rather go out with some random d-bag at a bar, then a friend of a friend? You have 12 guys ask you out in a year and you have some kind of issue? You girl, are suffering from "he's just not hot enough" disease, don't mask the issue.

Getting in shape. I think more than physically, the positives manifest themselves through better posture and body language, and more confidence.
