Well radfems do hate men. This is, however, nothing new.

I didn't say Blaire was female... Was poking fun at the idea of BW as a dudebro. Lighten up, man.

Even Blaire would agree she was born male, but I don't think she was ever a 'dude'... Exhibit A

That's one of the problems of feminism. Everyone's allowed to have their own version, so you can never pin down what it is even if you're talking about the largest feminist organisations in the world. Arguing against feminism is like swordfighting a fart. "Oh but that's not MY feminism!" "Ok well they're not your feminism but you are their useful idiot."

When you say the word, FEMinism, it's referring to advocacy for FEMales, or at the very least you're operating on the assumption that it can be both equality and only address women's issues and grievances by virtue of women being positioned below men. Thus focus on raising women up and all will be equal! Sorry, I'm not buying the equality nonsense. You can call yourself whatever you like but I don't have to respect you for it nor read only your own perceptions into the label.

I would posit that Feminism fights for women's advocacy, which is fine but it's not equality. They seek to grant additional rights and privileges to women, not the responsibilities that can or should (depending on your perspective) come with them. In this way they are very similar to traditional conservatives. Women have to be catered to and shielded from all responsibility. Birth control can't just be legal and available, it has to be FREE. A woman can choose to divorce her husband but in many …

Drunk gay men and women can be just as bad too. Truth is, assholes come in every colour, creed, sexual orientation and variety of junk.

And the only reason for it is to sell to skin care corporations so women can wear baby foreskin on their face. Joking aside, he's talking about this. Stem cells harvested from baby boys' foreskins.

If you're in the US, be careful about your son being left in the care of the ignorant. I've heard horror stories about health practitioners forcibly retracting a young boy's foreskin from an idiotic desire to clean underneath it. At that age the prepuce is literally fused to the glans and forced retraction is excruciatingly painful, with risk of bleeding and infection very high. Make sure anyone charged with his care knows that you absolutely forbid them attempting it!

Or it could be that somehow the good commenter wants us to make sure we're treating people equally... without using numbers. I think they meant to say let's not strive for equality of outcome but what a piss-poor way of saying that. Statistics are important and shouldn't be disregarded just because some people are too stupid to keep them in proper context. Certain types of FGM are more invasive and damaging, yes. Other types of FGM are less invasive or fairly analogous. This is both an important distinction in the sense of being factually accurate and completely moot in the sense that CUTTING BABIES' GENITALS IS FUCKED UP. This is not a pissing contest and all anyone here wants is for boys to have the same protections as girls. Nobody is advocating legalizing or promoting FGM.

I'm not talking about individuals, I'm talking about ideology and powerful political organizations. I couldn't care less about your average "feminism means equality" type person, naïve and uninformed as they are. The extremists are the only ones with political or academic influence and therefore are the only ones who matter, and are the ones I'd sorely love to see derided and ridiculed and scorned as the charlatans they are.

No, no, no. SJWs sre the ones trying to retcon the definition of racism from the original to "white people being mean to PoC (mostly black people.)" Don't try to twist history to suit your narrative. Take MLK's I Have A Dream speech and tell me with a straight face that he only meant for white people to stop being racist.

"This example of racism doesn't affect whites in the exact same way it did ~coloured people~ people of colour historically in one specific country, therefore it's not racism." This is such a sophist take on what racism is. I don't know of a better example of missing the forest for the trees off hand. I sort of agree, but in the strictest sense of the word cut guys are victims of MGM. That being said, I don't think anyone is helped by adopting a victim mentality.

Same. Have the whole penis I was born with and am a raging homo. I prefer uncut guys, but I never judge guys who were cut as 99% of the time they had no say in the matter. They're so much easier to manipulate and no big scar line or keratinized head. Lube not required! But Im against the practice not for my own aesthetic preferences but because of consent and bodily autonomy.

Since when does feeling momentarily uncomfortable cause actual harm? If a given woman can't even deal with an awkward interaction without falling to pieces and needing to envolve law enforcement I think the answer is more along the lines of therapy, not unenforcable legislation. Stop infantilizing women.

You're not very good at analogies, are you? It doesn't mean you're "putting the two things on the same level" necessarily. Police don't have the resources to curb panhandling just like they won't be able to deal with wolf whistlers. That's the extent of the comparison, you read way too much into it. Notice in my original comment as well that I didn't make a value judgment about homelessness or panhandling at all. I simply made an observation and you took that and ran miles with it. All right, so let's clarify some things here, because I've seen this article making the rounds and I think that multiple news outlets have been downplaying the fact that this crime occurred in 1992 and the conviction and death sentence handed down in 1993. Anyone who was alive during that time would not at all be shocked that people in a town of around 55,000 people in rural South Dakota would think this way. I disagree perhaps with some parts of Kimmel's perspective on it (no surprise there), but I have to respect that he made the humane choice in the end, which is quite noble especially given his religion. I'm so happy that some ~40% of domestic violence victims got a public airing from this, but sad it had to happen in such an extreme case to this man. People who always tout the "men are stronger than women" line when it comes to abuse potential (oddly the only time they'll admit this fact) forget that brains and tools can often beat brawn. A woman can just as easily wield a knife, or a pot of boiling water, or even her words to inflict abuse. With her bare hands a woman might not be able to kill…

I agree with you to a point, but there are many different kinds of "aggressive tones." When I get aggressive, for example, I never use threatening words but do use a tone that, while still measured and not shouty, heavily implies that I'm displeased. Some people yell and scream, and that's entirely different from me.

The trouble with assertive women being seen as "bitchy" is that people (not just women) who yell or use a particular tone of voice are seen as bitchy. I presume that it's because women are wired to make noise when something is wrong, which is not a dig against them, it's just what I've observed. If someone says "Eh, I disagree with you there, let's do X" in a level tone and doesn't have a death stare on their face, you'd be hard pressed to call them bitchy. I have met women who voice their disag…

You're so right. In fact, a really progressive idea would be to force women into these dangerous, gritty and necessary jobs until there was 50% gender parity! This would both address the gender inequality among sewage workers (and garbage collectors, and janitors, and linemen -er, I mean linepeople), and also reduce the disparity of workplace deaths between the genders! Foucault was also hardly pro-woman, but it's not like that stops anyone. Also, you're misrepresenting what Jordan Peterson has said with regards to cultural Marxism. He's never said that Marxism always leads to Stalinism and whatnot, he's said that the belief systems are shared and that's a problem. He's been very clear about this, and his detractors can't seem to stop putting words in his mouth and misrepresenting his statements. Cultural Marxism is not the same as Marxism - it just describes t…

You actually have no clue of how many of these cases were true or false. Accusing a slew of specific people and ruining their lives is not the same as simply speaking against sexual misconduct (and apparently that includes bad dates with women who are apparently too weak to call themselves a cab) in general.

Are you really that dense? The problem with the Salem witch trials had nothing to do with witches! The problem was simply the convenient mechanism by which people could falsely accuse others they didn’t like and have them presumed guilty with no real way for the accused to provide any meaningful defence! Analogies should not be this difficult for you to grasp.

Nobody is blaming these two specific women, nor even women at large, for this picture. What could be discussed, however, is the fact that while roughly 75-85% of homeless people are men, there are far more resources available to homeless women. I can't believe that you think it's appropriate to 'address sexual misconduct' in a trial by media. Maybe I misread your comment, then. Your first sentence of "it's what none of these men seem to get" implied to me that either: 1) None of the people who post here (who are all men) get this. or 2) Only men are disagreeing that this was sexual assault or not an issue. If you find either of those interpretations uncharitable I apologize, but that being how I read your first sentence kind of guided my reading of the rest of your comment.
/r/MensRights22/01/18 06:54 PM

It just seemed odd to me that your use of language in your comment implied that abuse of power in a sexual context is something men do to women. Power is something that people abuse all the time, just like the many opportunistic women trying to ruin men's careers with #MeToo. Or the trio of liars who successfully ruined Jian Ghomeshi's career.
/r/MensRights22/01/18 06:36 PM
2

Her broader point is that if you trivialize the definition of rape and sexual assault to the extent that #MeToo and modern feminists seem to want to, it can no longer carry such a severe sentence in criminal courts. As in, "if rape is so common and so banal, then the accompanying punishment must also be minimal."

Germaine Greer is a very prominent Australian 2nd-wave feminist icon. If you're a feminist today and don't know who she is, whether or not you agree or disagree with her views, that's pretty much a guarantee to me that you've done very little research into feminism. The glaringly obvious explanation is children. That's the same thing people used to say to women before birth control and legalized abortion. "Well sweetheart, if you didn't want kids you shoulda kept your legs closed, huh?" It's really telling how you think that argument is fine to lob at men when anyone but a tradcon can see what's wrong with saying it to women.

That's exactly what Paul Elam did on AVFM and it's that very article that prominent feminists use to paint him as a crazy misogynist that avocates for violence against women.

I don't disagree with you, either. I was only commenting on that thread, not on my outlook regarding the broader group of feminists or even the general public. I'm pretty damn cynical on a good day, so I don't say this often, but... you should really try to have more faith. Yes and equality of outcome is a stupid and unattainable goal anyway; short of forcing people into fields they aren't interested in it's never going to happen. The point is to demonstrate that the people who whinge about inequality are only interested in reducing male presence in areas where they're more numerous, but it's never a problem in fields where women are the ones well over 50%.

Patriarchy theory, man-blaming and the thirst for all of the perks with none of the attached responsibilities have been hallmarks of the feminist movement since its infancy.

I'd be interested in hearing about that charge before rushing to judgment, personally. If it was a charge and not a conviction, there may be a reason for that. Hell, there was a news story in Canada last year about a woman having CPS called on her for letting her children play in her own damn backyard unsupervised. With the heavy bias that article was already displaying, I don't think it's safe to assume anything from that little blurb.

That's probably a better analogy, but unless presented with pretty robust scientific studies saying otherwise I'm inclined to believe that the vast majority of sexually frustrated men would just jerk off (with or without porn) or hire a hooker rather than resort to rape.

I'd be completely fine with the rebranding of it as a sexual assault crime as I agree that the biggest thing that makes rape what it is comes from the lack of consent, and statutory rape is simply the legal system stating the minor can't consent even if they actually did, and even if there was no coercion and a genuine desire on their part. I'm not exactly defending stat rape laws or even the terminology, and I just threw 18 out as an example. I was actually in a relationship at 16 with a 24 yea…
/r/MensRights19/07/17 08:53 PM

You do know what the definition of statutory rape is, right? No, it's not the same thing as the classic image we have of rape like a guy ambushing a jogger and beating her to a pulp and all that. We can argue about the age of consent if you like, but if it's 18 for women, it logically must be 18 for men.

My point seems to have completely flown over your head. Nobody cares if you specifically wouldn't have minded a hot teacher letting you fuck her. Even if I agreed with your assertion that women are still expected to handle all the cooking and cleaning (which I don't, this isn't 1950), who is historically expected to handle the other household chores like managing the car, mowing and raking the lawn, snow removal in places where that's a necessity in winter, or fixing things that break around the house? But again, we're not in 1950, and couples can decide how to divide the work in maintaining a household as they see fit.

I agree that it's not a big issue, but all he did was make a rant post online about it. That's not what I said at all. Some posts are about serious issues and some are minor things or double standards that we poke fun at. Are you saying that to be taken seriously we have to be in permanent rage mode about only the more severe issues at all times? It doesn't really matter. Half the comments are joking about it and the other half are telling people to stop taking this seriously and that it's a stupid non issue. What I'm not seeing is people taking it seriously and crying injustice, so maybe you're in the camp that needs to chill out a bit ;) We can't always be in super serious injustice mode here, ya know. Well, you're entitled to your assessment. I didn't say you personally said any of the minimizing statements, by the way. I just said they get posted every time the subject comes up. Either way, we both are against MGM which is the main thing. I wasn't really trying to start an argument with you, but oddly enough I thought it a bit 'feministy' myself to assume things about the identity of the person posting based on disagreement. I see that it was more about terminology used for you.

Wait, so someone disagrees with you so it automatically makes them a feminist troll? I agree the comments are pretty intense, but it could just as easily be a guy who was cut and resents it immensely. If so it's pretty understandable that he would fly off like that when every time MGM is brought up even in this sub, some people poo-poo it, say it's not the same as FGM, that they're cut and their dick is fine, and that he's fanatical. It'd piss me off royally too.

The article makes good points on potential use for sex offenders or those with disabilities, but there is often disdain and fearmongering from certain people, generally feminists, when sex robots (or indeed, any male-oriented sex toys) are brought up. The thought I was getting at is more that while preferences do vary, there's a "safe bet" for almost anything and he'll tell you if be likes it differently. The difference here is, if you say something against the narrative or offensive on any of the feminist subreddits, you'll be instantly banned. This sub doesn't do that, so you will see crazy comments by angry people, but they're almost always downvoted heavily because the movement as a whole isn't interested in that kind of antagonism or hatred. We just want a more balanced approach to gender equality that doesn't boil down to "men are bad, women are perfect."

Off topic? Every time you say education is needed for men and don't mention women, you're tacitly implying that men rape and women don't. Good lord, I'm vehemently anti-circumcision and even I've dismissed you as a loon, now. I didn't say all of them function fine, I said they can. While there are complications that can arise, the majority of circumcised penises can and do serve their intended function just fine. That's beside the point though, it's wrong because there's no valid reason to perform it routinely on minors or infants. The primary issue is the impossibility of consent followed by the lack of meaningful or medical justification.
