True about The Count. It's been a while since I have read it, I just remember the prisonb scenes where he meets the old man who teaches him how to escape. Here is the link: Comments from married men

Thanks! I'll be sure to do (and not do, ahem) that.

Yes, I will always remember the morning when I looked up from reading Esther Villar and realized, "Holy shit, it's not ME" What a relief that was.

Well, this sounds familiar. It was the same with me, things were ok when we were double income no kids, but once she was dependent on me for everything she became a nag factory. The crazy won't go away after the baby's born, my friend. Especially if she has any feminist beliefs, she will overcompensate for being dependent on a man by picking fights about every issue imaginable, and everything will be a symbol of how oppressed she is by having to sit home and take care of her baby.

Oh that's not the half of it-- had I reconned her mom/family I would have seen it coming. There are (no exaggeration) no men among her extended fam that aren't alcoholic/suicided/fat and miserable/gone and ghosted. And her aunts and cousins laugh about why the strong women of their fam can't seem to attract quality men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
