Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right about the direction the comics took it (I stopped following DC in the mid/late 90's) -- and even the cartoon alludes to the same dynamic (in the last clip, Harley pretty much states The Joker beats her), but it also alludes to them having a typical good-girl, bad-boy relationship which is relatively red-pilled for 90's cartoons. I really wasn't interested in Z, but got around to it when Toonami was a thing in the late 90's -- when most people were exposed to the franchise. I don't mind having additional responsibility occasionally...but doing it 5-6 days a week for years?
