Interesting. I spoke with another attorney who suggested that emotional intelligence is important. With being able to anticipate your ex spouse and her attorneys negotiations. This same outside lawyer offered creative solutions that I hadn’t heard of before like using a divorce coach to settle on a parenting plan.

I’m in oregon. My wife has worked part time for almost 4 years and started a new full time job this week. We’ve been married for 20 years. Yes, we completed discovery and have exchanged settlement offers. We started with mediation but I got an attorney after seeing the difference of opinions on spousal support.

This. I’ve decided I no longer want to deal with how embarrassed I am of her around other people. Who wants to hear that?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I think there is a way to do this. I’m just hoping it’s more helpful than hurtful. It’s likely to be more hurtful in the short term but maybe it will allow closure in the long term for her.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
