Just kidding ! Couldn’t help myself. Thank you for your detailed response. Love the demented patient approach with family actually. I will be using that one !

Your first sentence really hit me. My value and aspirations were always linked to a hypothetical man that would one day enter my life. Nothing I was warned about as a woman had to do with me taking care of myself only and learning how to protect myself. It was all about how I will have an obligation to a man and our children in the future and every decision will lead to that unavoidable end. I was, just like SayNad, hateful of the fact that I was born a woman and terrified of linking my life to …

THANK YOU. It annoys the hell out of me when couples say “we’re pregnant”. The definition of pregnant is legit : 1 : containing a developing embryo, fetus, or unborn offspring within the body Is the man doing that ? No. So don’t call it that. I’d even take “we are expecting”. Ugh

So those people you debate with say sex work is empowering and also call you a victim blamer ? So, which one is it ? Are they empowered or victims ? I see your point. No need to argue with them.

Damn. I’m so sorry this happened to you. …I also can’t help but to feel happy for you. He caused you great pain but now (especially with FDS) I’m happy there’s now space for a good man to come through.

Listen girl. There’s men out there that will wait. I’m also in my late 20s and have been in multiple relationships that didn’t have sex cause I wanted to wait till marriage. My first one was really abusive and he would say things like “you’re lucky I’m with you cause no other man would put up with this”. I was 19 and didn’t know any better and truly felt guilty but not having sex with him was a matter of pride. Like, bitch, if you think coercion will work, think again. My next ex was much much a…

I dated a guy for a year like that during covid prior to discovering FDS. Finding FDS made me realize I needed better. He was my first non-abusive relationship and I thought that meant he was the BOMB. But no, he was simply nice to me and not a narcissist lol. I moved in with him quickly due to covid - never again will I live with a man child - he asked me to pay half the rent cause I was always at his place during lockdowns even though I had my own apartment. I told him if I’m paying rent (alre…

Welcome! A lot of us are gravitating to what seems to be the only safe space on the internet for women. I remember when I found FDS, there were less than 150K subs and now there’s over 210K. Love this for us but also, it’s a clear sign of the state of the world…

I think you’re so right about taking your time and that a mask slips after a certain while. And I agree fully about “the mask may seem to stay on” only if you ignore the red flags. We have to be honest with ourselves. Our intuition is always guiding us but we choose to ignore it a lot of the time to feel loved, wanted, and accepted. I didn’t listen to my intuition for the longest time and thus found myself in abusive relationships w users and narcissists. Now, if I feel a tiny bit off or somethi…

I watched a video about pornstars talking about their sex life and even they say it’s nothing like porn. How they seek intimacy and affection in their personal sexual relationships. They don’t say that porn is abuse but it’s implied.

There’s been quite a few comments on this post that I’m seeing along the lines of “If I man is getting his bag through prostitution, I would not date him but I’d respect his choice of work” that got deleted for obvious reasons. Thing is, very little women find it truly lucrative. There’s the people at the top, like in everything really. But the rest? They’re struggling. They’re making themselves extremely vulnerable with little to no “reward”.

The general consensus is that it is not a respected profession even though they all say it is… until it affects them personally. Notice that the only Times someone says they’re for it is when they can share in the profits. Either way, the woman is simply a commodity. I find it funny how men will scream up and down that a woman is insecure and intolerant when she does not approve of sex work but then, when asked, the answers are very telling.

Thank you, that is very kind. This is why we’re here. The support system here is unreal. I read FDS everyday and it grounds me. You also don’t deserve to be treated any less than how you treat others. I don’t subscribe to the idea of “treat others the way you want to be treated” because they never will. They will simply take advantage of you. I’m more inclined to believe “treat yourself the way you want to be treated” and set an example in that way. So, if you have someone not treating you with …

Exactly. There is clearly an agenda. Assuming that investors were actually not down with it running only porn, then this could have been a way of rallying the people behind OF and to show the investors : " See ? Look! Everyone is cool with porn! They want it back! We can spin it in a positive way!"

Also, I don't know how it works for Androids, but with iPhone, if he has his "location services" enabled, you can find a map of every single place he's ever been to and how long he's been there. My friend caught her cheater husband that way. She was suspicious and checked his phone and found that when she was at work and he was "at home", he actually went to his mistress's house in the daytime and left before she was done work. Question for you : Do you believe there's HVMs in the backpacker sphere? I love backpacking and travelling for extended periods of time and learning the local customs and languages. When I travelled in the past, I made some travel buddies and met a LOT of guys (generally fit, more good looking than whatever I find back home, open, friendly, adventurous, worldly, busy with discovering new things) BUT in hindsight, a LOT of them were LVMs, trying to get in my bed after one evening of meeting me in…

In high school, my ex told me : " You're not smart. You're just a hard worker." because I was at the top of my class (that he was also in) and he could not deal with me doing better than him so he tried to put me down. Jokes on him though cause that's the one thing I'll never believe. This same ex added me on facebook the day after he got married (7 years later) and when he had his daughter (2 years after that). I agree with you. If I see it as a hella embarassing thing for him to do then I wouldn't stoop low to that level. The intention when the items were given is that they were to be kept by that person, it wasn't conditional on them staying with you or else no one would give any gifts since we can't predict the future. If you lent stuff, that's different. But once something is given, it's theirs. Whether they deserve it or not.

Men never pursue a woman or enter a relationship with her if they don't find her attractive. Period. Why are we expected to do any differently? I don't necessarily think these women want you to be miserable per se. I think it's just all they know and couldn't even imagine a healthy happy relationship cause they've basically been taught by life that it does not exist and thus see your standards as too high or you're too picky... It is my dream for every woman to know her worth.

I'm so sorry this is a situation you find yourself in and have to deal with. You are a strong woman and you love your children and I admire that so much. It sucks to carry the burden of EVERYTHING. I don't even pay attention to ANYTHING outside of what is the Qur'an. Those stories passed down from generation to generation? I mean, let's be real, we've all played the game "telephone". Yeah of course. I found the PDF of it for free. Can we link things here? It's called "Quran A Reformist Translation" by Edip Yuksel, Layth Saleh al-Shaiban, & Martha Schulte-Nafeh. I don't love the title reformist cause I feel it's misleading but it is very eye opening and I know that if I were to take my faith that direction (towards islam), it would be with the LOGICAL principles I learned. This is going to be a bit of a Storytime post and how I dealt with it. I was raised in a very conservative Muslim household where my dad controlled EVERYTHING as he was the MAN and the PROVIDER and my mom was basically a slave. I grew up with the messed up ideology that sex is for men's pleasure and when you get married, it is to please your husband (told to me by my MOTHER). women need to view things from men’s perspectives so for those who think paying proves they’re independent, that’s not how men see it, they see it as a way to exploit liberal feminism’s idea of equality This. So helpful! thank you :)

Agreed 100%. Unless a guy can provide, he's not worth your time and teenage boys obviously can't provide. I so regret dating as a teen or in my 20s. You really have to get to know yourself before you allow a man in your temple!

I always felt like I "owed" the guy intimacy if he paid. My first boyfriend, when I was 16, told me that: - Since he paid (when he paid for like an ice cream or something) , I owe him blowjobs (never touched his peepee) So I got really traumatized and stopped "letting" him pay. After that, I never let a guy pay and I deeply regret it now lol. I just can't even begin to imagine a guy being "happy to pay".
