That’s a valid perspective which I neither agree nor disagree with. There are also other perspectives. Also, if we are going to question this, why not question the validity and context of marriage itself? Make no decision, believe nothing, but discuss everything.

I don’t, because rights are mental ideals which do not actually exist. To claim a right is a privilege because some engage in consensual conceptual reality, and may be prepared to defend or enforce that ideal through the threat of, or use of, violence. A nasty business, that.

For a long time, the website democrats dot org had a section called “who we serve.” It was notable because that page listed 20+ groups, including women. It did not include men. I started being very vocal about that, and soon enough, the link to “who we serve” would return a 404 error. Today, that section of the site has been removed. They are sanitizing things, but from what I see and hear, there have not been substantive changes. In the short term, there will not be, because change requires rea…

Sounds like a group of women with poor discernment, refusal of the responsibility which comes with agency, and ambiguous values.

If one subconsciously absorbs the bullshit around oneself, that’s down to a lack of self-awareness, not being grounded in one’s person, and suggests a lack of any self-work endeavored upon. If one does not steer one’s own ship, one is a fool to complain about where the winds and ocean currents took you.

For a long time one could go to democrats dot org, and they had a page about “who we serve.” It listed so many, but was notable for omitting any mention of men. They made a crab side-step. Instead of fixing their message, now if you try to go to that page, you get a page not found error. The host has been overcome by the virions and parasites. This cannot be fixed. This will require a true cleansing, or a new party.

It’s just the sociosexual distillation of the just world fallacy. So utter bullshit and absolute poppycock. But many people love this delusion because it supports their biases and agendas, and allows them to smugly sleep at night.

Socialization ending in emotional neutering is bad for the boys who become men. Sure, agreed. Although this happens to each individually, it reflects a larger systemic societal issue. Yep. So in the spirit of rugged individualism, it’s up to each man to fix his problems on his own. Um, sadly, that’s close to reality, and no man is a victim, right? No weakness! Seek therapy? Aside from issues of access and cost, why would a man seek a solution which has been thoroughly captured by a mindset which…

It’s Boomers vs. Millennials! It’s Liberals vs. Conservatives! It’s Men vs. Women! Congratulations. 🎉 You fell for it. The redirection. You thought the battles were all there was. Never recognizing the Class War. In your agita about the Patriarchy, you demonstrated you were docile and easily snared, because dogma is easier than critical thinking. That your heart was inflamed is noble. That your amygdala was pegged in the red should have concerned you. That your brain was only used to mimic your …

I have reason to think both may have an etiology of trauma experienced in very early childhood, either just before, or during, the time period associated with the psychosocial development of the differentiated self. BPD when the development of the self is delayed or prevented, resulting in maladaptative development. NPD when the partially-developed self experiences a traumatic insult, resulting in a disordered personality. Consider this in reference to the presentation and description of each in…

United States Federal Law 18 U.S. Code § 116, which prohibits female genital mutilation, should be expanded to prohibit male genital mutilation as well, because as it stands, it is in direct violation of the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. The solution is inclusion, not repeal such that all are left unprotected.

If we accept patriarchy as a working model through which to consider things, we must also ask how it is possible a pervasive gynocentrism has come to exist, and flourish, under it.

Due to the unbreakable spirit and strength without equal of men, they are impervious to systemic issues. So, if there is a problem, look within. Heal yourself. They need you, but you need no one. You are a titan of stoic steel. This is on you. Show ’em how you got this, badass. Blaze a trail and man the fuck up. Everyone is depending on you. Dreamy-eyed vixens are waiting. /s

Regardless of who pays for what, enthusiastic mutual informed consent is the minimum standard, so anything outside of that is just distraction and noise. If you want to navigate engagement by means of normative gender roles and rules, well, you do you, boo. Let me know how that works out for you, or not. The rest of us will choose actual communication and needs-based reciprocal partnership. Why settle for less?

Conservatives have things to offer boys-who-become-men—narrowly-defined gender roles, appeals to traditional values where men have a place of worth and respect, and rules to follow in the game which promise to guarantee a modicum of success as defined by a cultural standard. Of what worth or truth? That’s for each and every to decide. What do liberals have to offer boys-who-become-men? Nothing, except a bright and shiny would-be-future that is decidedly female. For the most part, those boys-who-…

Misandry exists, but it isn’t anything to get too worked up over. After all, men, and the boys who grow up to become men, are nothing more than objects of productivity and utility and bodies for war. All are disposable. angry /s

Guaranteed, you will remain sick and tired, and you will accept, more each day, your unworth, if you continue to make the narrow and rigid gender roles which are foisted upon men the standard by which you measure, find yourself lacking, and judge. I hear that you’re not happy, but you didn’t tell me anything about yourself. Who are you? What makes you you? What do you enjoy doing? What do you dream about? What do you hope for? What are your goals? What are your hobbies? What are you working on? …

Within the social sphere of the famed, it will remain ugly, because punitive “corrections” of many kinds are issued for any man who deviates too far from culturally-validated gender norms, or acts in direct violation of those norms. The everyman experience will differ on a number of factors and will tend to vary, but is likely to follow cultural norms, all other things being equal. A significant negative contributor to issues with men’s mental health and well-being are these factors: socializing…

Very early in a would-be relationship, confirm that you have matching libidos, and you are sexually compatible in terms of engagement style and openness to activities. And when I say very early, I mean right away—there’s no point on scheduling another date if it isn’t going to work in this regard. After not making this a priority for far too long, I moved it to the top, and made it a non-negotiable. It has worked out splendidly. Six years now with my best friend. She’s well and truly the busines…

Each and every person is responsible for their own sexual satisfaction. This may require finding a partner or partners, obtaining mutual consent, asking for things, advocating for things, and acting in reciprocity with those partners. Sexual satisfaction is like emotions—you are responsible for your own, and only your own. The list of things that can result in ED is so damned long that attempting to post them would crash the Reddit servers. I experience time-limited ED that is concurrent with a …

Nature abhors a vacuum. Many young men (and older ones for that matter) are becoming aware that what they were promised was a lie, that they are not needed, and unsure if they are even wanted, and as young men they have arrived to adulthood with belief systems that will not help them, and that they are functionally illiterate. Wait, was I talking about emotional intelligence, relationships, and men meeting their sexual needs, or was I talking about the value of higher education, men’s value in t…

>Self-worth is so community-based... What? To me, self-worth is something I find/assign by myself, within/to myself. > It's not something we actively think about much... I hardly think about it these days, because I’m now well, relative to where I used to be. Getting here required a lot of self-work, thought, and self-acceptance. I used to think about it quite a lot. >I think the world would be a completely different place if it were easier for men to cultivate genuine self-worth. My sense is it…

I think boys/men are socialized to do so, and for sure all manner of judgment, shaming, invalidation, manipulation, and so on are directed at boys/men who do not do so. Forced? No. Abused to coerce desired behavior? Absolutely. I think I have been protector five times that I can remember. I walked an elderly woman across an intersection that was super busy. I stopped traffic in a holiday-season parking lot so a disabled man could cross in his motorized wheelchair. So those were strangers. I dove…

This wouldn't really be worrying.... if it weren't for the fact that the third wave feminist movement creates lies and uses cherry-picked statistics to back up their claims. The movement is trying to destroy the relationship between men and women, constantly implying or outright stating that men are the "oppressors" and women are the "oppressed". Certainly some have this stance, and engage in behavior indicative of radical feminism. That said, I think that's a gross mischaracterization of third-…

But in the United States, only a hundred-and-some infant boys die each year due to circumcision. Inasmuch as they had just been born, they hadn't achieved anything in their lives, nor provided for anyone, so in truth, can we honestly say anything of real value was lost? /s

I'm not familiar whatsoever with Australian law, either local or national, but I wonder if there are any legal mechanisms by which assets can be seized/forfeited and/or wages can be garnished as a means of some modicum of recompense.
