If you want to be pedantic, then yes, you can't say that it was raining at the time and he's afraid of thunder, or he was too nice to have committed the crime, so that's a doubt or something along those lines. Of course I meant a legitimate cause of doubt. Again though, a lack of evidence IS reasonable doubt. Good thing I never said "innocent" in my original comment The stand is reasonable doubt, not any doubt I highly suggest that you look up what "beyond a reasonable doubt" is, because you seem to be mistaken. Reasonable doubt is the highest burden of proof, as in if there's any reasonable doubt about their guilt, they should be found not guilty. Lacking any evidence that he committed the crime should have meant he was not guilty. If there is any room for doubt at all, then the verdict should be not guilty. "Beyond a reasonable doubt" means there needs to be a 100% chance that someone is guilty.
