These days the Red Pill community seems to be fueled by outrage and rhetoric. For the most part, I think it's because damaged, angry men have come here in need of a safe place to vent. TRP has been getting new, angry boys much faster than it has been outputting balanced, reasonable men, so anger has become the accepted "default state" for the sub. A lot of people have forgotten that the anger is meant to be temporary. I've been wondering if there should be a separate community for men who have g…

I'm emotionally shallow but too moralistic to be considered a sociopath/psychopath Damn, this describes me pretty accurately. Something that I think helped, at least to make peace with everything, is writing a bit of an autobiography. Write less detail on the less emotional parts of your life and very detailed on the emotional parts. What you felt, why you felt it, how you wished you handled it, et cetera.

It's a mistake to believe that "virtue" is a universal and ultimate good. The biggest sin is to deny yourself happiness. Stoicism is for slaves.

Honey and maple syrup are refined sources of sugar and should be cut out. Dried fruits are okay but not great. Fresh fruit fine.

For all the involuntarily celibate lads out there, This is a post-virginity realization, and does not give you permission to stop pursuing women and play video games all day. Koalafications: I'm 21 and had sex for the first time about a year ago. Two and a half years ago I'd have read a post like this as "It's okay to be unattractive, passive, and antisocial. And you're wrong for having a strong desire for sex. It's not such a big deal anyway." A couple notches more over this past year and I can…

This is good advice if you're doing like 8hrs+ of lifting heavy shit per week. If you want to eat like a madman you gotta train like a madman. I'll tell you what's not a good idea: eating like a pig while doing some 3-days-a-week internet program like starting strength or stronglifts. You just get fat (I know from experience)

No sex before marriage was not "created by women". It's a concept tens of thousands of years old from when an unmarried woman's primary source of value was her virginity. But now that's no longer the case, woman use the idea as a vetting tool to secure pushovers.

The way to get over being alone is to have a fulfilling lifestyle. If the idea of being alone forever scares you, then companionship is too significant a force in your life. This is because you require people to validate your life. If you can live such that you are the main source of validation for your life then you will never worry about being alone.

I'm in a similar position. Need 8+ hours or I start nodding off during the day. I've been tracking my sleep for a month, and I now know that (with zero exercise) 8-8.5 hours before I need to get up is the latest I can go to bed and still feel good the next day. So with that in mind, productivity is not gained by changing when I wake up, but by accomplishing more in the time that I'm awake.

When I lift consistently I feel more vigorous, disciplined and content with life. When I've skipped for long periods I felt more lethargic and passive. A lot of it is because I'm not happy with my body, so when I skip gym I know I'm not moving toward my goals and that weighs me down. I think there's probably a hormonal part too; that lifting and good sleep increases testosterone.

Right. So there are objective criteria which you can use to judge the quality of philosophies, but determining which criteria to use is black and white. You believe that excellence, ambition and achievement are the most important qualities in life. However it's not logical assert that this is absolute. Saying that "being great" is most important in life is like saying that apples are the best tasting fruit. It's illogical. Hedonism is pointless, but so is everything else. We're all going to die …

It's not necessarily "blue pill". Remember that "blue pill" refers to ignorance, lacking the understanding of reality. There's not a lot of objectivity in philosophy. Stoicism and Epicureanism are both perfectly valid philospohies. It is "blue pill" to believe that pursuit of virtue is the only valid path for a person's life. 'If the government can ban such harmless things such as psychedelics, what else can they be more wrong about?' Fair enough. The way you wrote it further up was coming dangerously close to "government comspiracy" level.

But did you really never think about that stuff before? I know I've had the old "brain in a body" feeling a couple of times. It seems like psychedelics affect people who just don't really "think about things". I don't know how to articulate it.

I like to do it before I sleep. It helps quiet my mind so that I'm not laying in bed thinking about everything. My routine is usually: Stop working 45-60 minutes before I plan to sleep Make some tea Read a book and sip tea for half an hour Brush teeth Meditate for 10-30 minutes
/r/TheRedPill20/06/16 10:14 PM

For me the most difficult (and important) aspect of meditation is the discipline involved in doing it consistently and applying numerous other lifestyle changes that make it easier. If your sleep schedule is fucked then you're not going to feel like meditating before bed. Similarly, if you're playing too many videogames, watching too much TV or working right up until you sleep then meditation is going to be more difficult. I wholeheartedly disagree with this advice. I'm a big proponent of learning (where possible) through derivation and experience rather than memorization. Spaced repetition is great for association. So it's good for things like learning a language, famous artists and their works or the dates of historical events. TRP concepts are based on experience combined with a specific mentality. You don't need to be able to quote word-for-word an idea that someone posted on here. You need to have the correct…

My father set a good example of the kindness and self control you speak of. However, he didn't teach me much about being a man. The problem with Christianity is that it's designed to feminize men. It's interesting that these comments are coming out. For the past year or so (pre-TRP as well) I've been feeling that I need to kill and eat animals. The idea of killing something with my bare hands kind of repels me so I feel like it would be an important step in my development if I overcame this.

Dealing with a snarky attitude You have to transform your anger into pity, and then find humour in pitying them. This is much healthier than feeling the need to respond and biting your tongue because eventually you'll explode in rage. To move from anger to pity you need to realize that they are NEVER going to listen to you; they're going to be forever ignorant of whatever you have to say. It is in these extreme circumstances that stealing, lying and killing are okay, even though it is not preferable. Even if I concede this you still have to stretch the argument from "sinning to save hundreds of lives" to "sinning to be able to get the kind of girl you'd like". Galatians 5:16 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 1 John 2:16 1 Peter 2:11 These are just a few of many verses where Christians are commanded to cease pursuit of sex and instead seek closeness with God. Masturbation is a problem if you don't have abundance. Reading your post reminded of a recent conversation with my father: He suggested we play some trivia together, and I replied that it was too much effort for little to no reward; chances are we wouldn't win. He said that I shouldn't be worried about winning because it's just something fun to do. I had decided that I would rather not play than risk losing. Now I can see how inhibiting that mindset is. I need to play the game with fun as a primary goal. Yeah, I still have to work towards winning, b…

So I think a lot of guys just don't quite grasp the nuance on that and broadly fall into two camps - those who care massively and their thirst shows. And those who think it doesn't matter at all. Yeah, I'm beginning to realize that "not caring about getting laid" doesn't mean not trying to get laid. I'm not hot enough (yet) to pull girls with zero effort, so I need to put in the effort without being worried about the result

I guess if I'm worried about taking it too far then I'm actually on the right track

I've basically been teasing girls (subtly or obviously, depending on the situation) for saying stupid shit. I don't do it to make anyone feel bad, or to "get revenge on the hotties who rejected me", I just do it because it's fun. Is this fine?

There is most likely nothing genetically wrong with this man. All his ancestors managed to breed. That's not really something we can assert these days, as we have the technology to keep many people alive against nature's will

An as aussie, I'm a bit annoyed by how badly we managed to destroy our indigenous culture. That being said, our aborigines seem like hippies when compared to Maoris.

Yeah. As a newbie, I often fall into the trap of spending too much time having fun and little to no time seducing. In these instances my contact with men and women is exactly the same: non-sexual. For most people, just being handsome and decently dresses won't have the girls you want hanging off you. You actually have to put in effort to get things heading the way you'd like.

"Altercation" I said something that "offended" her. I ignored her for a while, then she came back smiling and trying to get me to dance with her. I used this opportunity to try to straight talk with her about how I was feeling (bad idea) and halfway through tried to kiss her, to which she bashfully turned her cheek and muttered "Awww, Ender". We continued the failing straight talk but she turns around and starts talking to someone else, so I leave. I feel like I would have gotten somewhere if I …

Did you masturbate in the days leading up to it? Sounds like how I've felt after jerking it

I was wondering this too. It's a terrible trait to look for in a LTR; a religious girl should be no more than a plate. If they are banging you but call themselves Christian then they have no conviction and must have a messed up sense of identity. Additionally, a person with at least mild religious conviction will try to convert you. They will also have a deep seated guilt that you two are dating and it will destroy your relationship. Finally, religious belief strengthens the hamster, and is a sy…

Because when it comes to sex, none of that is particularly important (but we do have the universal preferences for good hip to waist ratio and larger breasts)

Yeah, I've recently realized how important sleep is, and from experimenting I've concluded that I need at least 9 hours to feel good. The problem is that I need to be super organised to make this happen. If I want to go to the gym before uni I need to wake up at about 0500, which means I need to go to sleep around 1930-2000. I haven't got yet at the point where this is consistently possible, but I'm working on it.

You're angry because your expectations don't match reality. To make the anger go away you can either change your expectations or you can change reality.

How much do you think your physique contributed to their receptivity?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
