Julia is right but she says this because she tends to go for men who have been "improved" by other women. Daniel Moder?

We have some of the WORST CPS services in the country. Aggressively privatized, overworked case workers. Children just die in the system.

The best adaptation of this story is book!Ella Enchanted, imo.

You can do that on a date. You can't really know a person over text and choice encounters. You're trying to see how they'll treat you.

I've been each of those things (except agoraphobic) and it's definitely a huge difference from being an introvert seeking their own happiness.

I'm an introvert and people assume I'm not because (before the panorama), I had an active life with hobbies and going out. But I would do these things alone.

I shave my arms sometimes as a treat for myself but not my armpits :| I like rubbing my smooth arms. I know I'm a special case tho.

I'm coming back to this post and omg this was my exact experience. He wanted me to come along to our friends' gettogethers because people would ask after me but would be highly critical of me after. I used to play WoW and he did too. He got invited to a weekend raid with my main guild, and he was so fucking critical of me joking with my raid buddies. Then he would be disappointed that they didn't like him more.

Tbh I'm not the OP but it's not about the modest car but that he's bragging about what he can afford while having that car.

I had a very extensive convo with my friends about this. How wrapped up American conservatism is with white supremacy, and not just in the obvious Proud Boys way. That's how white people can have spouses who are Trumpers and anti-choice despite not believing it in themselves. It goes even deeper than this summary though, but you're right on the money.

In the other hand we have a HVM I met on tinder. He seemed perfect in every sense. Tall, good looking, well trimmed, has a good job, is well dressed, doesn't seem like a fuckboy, funny,... Well you understand. He treated me to a dinner and it was amazing, and I thought all went pretty damn well. Girl it was just a dinner. You have no idea if he had a massive porn habit, or weird fetishes, or a codependent relationship with his mother...

You need to read Why Does He Do That? It's in the handbook. There are abusers who create a culture of fear and there is literally minimal physical abuse. The key is, the men who slam doors, punch walls, destroy property, they rarely have these anger issues in a different context than a romantic relationship. They don't do it at work indiscriminately. They don't do it to their mother. They don't do it with their friends. So yeah, from the context of an action, a door slam after a contentious, mas…

Ottessa Moshfegh Man I read her book My Year of Rest and Relaxation and there was something so refreshing about a character who is totally into herself and self centered. I guess I have a new book to read.

these attitudes can come from religious upbringings It's society. TBH a lot of pickmes think this way. I'm autistic and I don't like surprises AND I'm honestly a bad gift giver if I'm going in blind. BUT, I talk about things a lot, so my friends will just straight up ask me what I want, I'll happily tell them, and the anticipation is the happiness. And I listen to my friends and I buy stuff for them. I had to grow up to this though.

They're not bad because they just happen to be. They're bad because they don't care. There are a lot of men who take an interest in what women speak about, and what their partner talks about, and even snoops around on her Pinterest, and can get her the perfect thing.

hard questions What sort of things are hard questions? Like, "What sort of things do you like about me?" This sort of situation is my worst nightmare. I'm taking in the logic and facts here, and loving myself, but there's a part of me that would be taken in because I worry I crave romance, and I lack social skills. I'm autistic as well.

I'm going to sound really blunt here. Before I go into it, I'm sorry about the sexual assault. With "keep vulnerabilities to yourself" do you think it's ok to mention to the guy I'm talking to I have court in 3 weeks? If he asks how i am its the only thing i have in my head. I wouldn't. Are you dating or no? I just want it to explain why I'm not super responsive. I dont really want to talk while I feel like this. You're not obligated to talk to him about anything you don't want to, or talk to hi…

But she didn't say any of that. Unfortunately a lot of Americans wade in commenting and they’ve never met a Brit, let alone been to the UK. The assumption being that the UK is exactly like America in terms of race relations. It doesn't have to be exactly the same in order for it to be racism.

I'm sorry you had this experience. I hope the handbook and forum is helpful to you. I know this is a rant but you can't let him take up real estate in your mind. I might be wrong but it sounds like you're ruminating on what could have been. And it sounds like that's what happened when y'all broke up the first and second time. I know, because I ruminate too. When a person ruminates, it allows them to assign qualities and go over what could have happened instead of seeing the actual.

This should go into the handbook imo. I also like how this definition makes you know yourself. It's easy to rattle off a bunch of traits, but what will fit well into the life you want for yourself? If you're not sure, maybe you have to take some more time exploring and leveling up.

How do I know it’s appropriate contribution vs playing wifey? You live together. You're putting in money to a place you don't own. You're training a man how to change his own fucking sheets. He's wanting you to do laundry and dishes. How did he get to those chores? Did you talk it out and equally divide them? No. He's asking you to do chores and not being as supportive while you get your business of the ground. He's grooming you to be a forever girlfriend who does wife stuff. I'm telling you, I'…

There's this myth about preventative botox, but I would not recommend it. Sunscreen, water, and an appropriate retinoid is way better.

She had a pickme moment, literally every black woman who knew about her was like "oh honey no." She leveled up and found someone who is devoted to her, welcoming of her son, and supportive of her.
