Should I ask for alimonyMan, two months separated, so you're technically correct. But if you go watch YouTube advice videos from lawyers, video after video will tell you that judges do not respect petty moves. If you act like a scumbag, they'll treat you like one and rule against you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/05/25 10:43 PM
Should I ask for alimonyThen asking for 18 months is pretty reasonable | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/05/25 11:47 AM
Should I ask for alimonyDon't be petty, that's bad advice. Be equitable. If there's a serious income disparity, and in this case there is, it's reasonable to ask for alimony or a higher cut of split assets. If you're likely to make even income with her in a year or two time, you can set the alimony up to fall off at that time. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/05/25 11:45 AM
AITA?Ugh, I understand where you're coming from. Are you familiar with the story of the lone tree on the side an empty stretch of highway? Don't focus on not hitting the tree, because that's how you hit the tree. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/04/25 07:59 PM
Question for Women in this subI've just arrived in this sub and separated two months ago but I'm surprised by the mention of helping someone duck being served. What value is there in that? Surely they will get served eventually and don't you risk a charge yourself by getting involved with that? | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/04/25 07:49 PM
Question for Women in this subI used to try to participate in twox, but I very quickly came to realize it's too toxic to participate there even if the rules allow men. Too much of this kind of attitude in reverse. I was thinking I was able to provide helpful perspective but in the end I kicked myself out because the nasty attitudes were raising my blood pressure too much. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/04/25 07:46 PM
How do you afford to live?I don't know how you can say "most". Seems like a harmful generalization. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/04/25 07:41 PM
