This research makes their position less plausible, but it does not prove it false. Nor does it need to be falsified. We make judgements every day about what we will and wont believe given a body of evidence. When overwhelming opinion sways in one direction or another, we start to call a thing true or false. Obviously a single focused study doesn’t debunk anything. I didn’t read anything implicit about the scope of the study.
