He's pretty honest in a self deprecating way about the horrible prospects of his 'industry'. But he's good at what he does, and studies something I don't quite grasp, logic and epistemology, which is apparently not exactly those common fields starry-eyed idiots study. His supervisor is one of the most cited academics in the field. And job prospects are also, apparently (which I got from some google searching), good in that sub-field. 1	Off-Topic Question - About Male Ego You're right. I actually am a lot more defensive when one of my friends is being treated unfairly. I've never been treated with this sort of disrespect in my life, so I guess the very tendency you're talking about is getting to me. I think the lesson here is, if I know someone is an asshole, there's no point in going to their place if mutual friends are there.
